Great looking deli/cafe. Large inside and also good outdoor terrace. Food looks excellent. We only stopped in for coffee. No fresh muffins, scones or pastries. Only cakes and a couple of slices. Always makes me think that there wasn't any fresh baking done today. Had a flapjack which was ok. Ordered double shot lattes. Coffees came and very weak. Also got order for decaf wrong but caught us before the coffee was drunk (phew) and replaced. Very sweet and friendly staff. But a little vague. Overall an average experience read more

We walked in after visiting the Hampton Court Palace. We are American students and tried to take advantage of us. At first they made us re arrange the table ourselves, not wanting to do it them selves. When we went to order, and to pay they would "mistakenly" charge us for 2 sandwiches. When we brought it up they served very confused until we directly showed them that the thing we ordered was a way cheaper price. The place is nice but watch your back, as always. read more

It's a hot day and life on each side of this stretch of the River Thames is thriving under the sun, with tourists lapping up the scenery and locals taking their time to enjoy a lazy Sunday. In sight of the bridge that crosses the river into Molesey Riverside is Mada Deli, a busy, relaxed venue with indoor and outdoor seating to house all sorts of people, from families to couples, from solitary book readers to businessmen entertaining work colleagues. There's also a healthy queue for the to-go crowd, and a small ice cream bar for hungry kids. We ordered mozzarella panini and sausage butties, with fresh juice (they use proper juicers here) and a bit of cake for afters. The food is good and the service is friendly. You can taste the flavours of Italy in every bite, and wash it down with tangy orange juice or ginger-infused apple juice with cucumber. The coffee menu looked enticing, but this wasn't a day for anything other than escaping the sunshine for an hour and enjoying some good food with good company. The cake? Well, I always enjoy cake, even when it's a little bit dry. It sets me up for at least another few hours of chasing parakeets along the leafy banks. read more

When Mada Deli first opened up, the locals wandered whether we needed another coffee shop; we already had plenty in our little road. Everyone was soon reassured when Mada carved out a niche for itself and quickly became the newest hotspot. What makes Mada Deli stand out is its delicatesson, a large well stocked and reasonably priced room packed with European produce. The ethos here is foods with a traditional feel. As well as fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses and meats, you can find freshly packaged meals to take away. (I have a soft spot for the Pie Minster Organic Pies, such as Mr Porky Pie, filled with free range pork, onion, apples, Somerset cider and sage). There are plenty of vegetarian treats as well. Pick up a bottle of organic Chianti to go with the organic Italian wholewheat chestnut or rye pasta, get a jar of their homemade pesto - bursting with garlic and basil, and treat yourself to a little square of pecorino and you have an restuarant quality meal. (And far less expensive) Look out for the Italian dips which go with the cheese and crackers too. I couldn't decided between the fig, damson, quince or gooseberry. If you preferred something sweet, ask for the honey which is made just 200 yards away from the shop. There is also a self serve deli as well, and an ever changing board of specials. I love to get one of the fresh smoothies or juices (my top pic -either the apple carrot and ginger or blueberry, raspberry and banana) and sit down at the long refrectory table and watch the world go by. Great spot for breakfast or lunch before or after visiting Hampton Court Palace. Order at the bar and take a seat in the colorful and comfortable dining room. I enjoyed the Brie, Pear, and Cranberry Sandwich with a cup of tea. The bread was earthy and fresh, the Brie pure and creamy, the pear tart sweet, and the cranberry saucy and sweet. It was a perfect cozy combo on a Fall day. This with the delicious tea gave me the fuel I needed to explore Hampton Court! Oh, and it was only £6! Can't beat that! read more

Visited on Saturday 3.3.12. Service was slow. Staff not confident. I was amazed at how many tables had not been cleared for waiting customers. Had to resort to a dirty table until our meal arrived and then it was cleared. I won't be recommending this venue or visiting again. read more

We visited this deli for breakfast on Sunday 11th August. It looked promising, with rustic tables and decoration. There were several tables taken, with mostly families and young children. We had to order at the counter, and this is when things started to go wrong. There was a staff member putting spread on flaccid toast. I asked whether we could have butter - this caused a few raised eyebrows and Eastern European shrugs. We sat down with a wooden spoon with our order number, and waited about 10 minutes for coffee. We had to ask for more milk - three times. The waitresses were clearly new, untrained and completely clueless. After a further 20 minutes, my partners food arrived, but not mine - not a good sign. He had ordered smoked salmon and scrambled egg with avocado. The bread was plastic, the spread was definitely not butter, the scrambled egg was 'nuked' in the microwave, and the tiny portion of smoked salmon was grey. My food never came, in fact after 45 minutes, I gave up, I had lost my appetite. The only upside is that they did have the grace to give me a full refund. We will not be returning. read more

Poor service, indifferent and unfriendly staff, average food, high prices, filthy loos.. I'm never going back and I regret the £20 I spent on breakfast and coffee. Just because you have hundreds of tourists from the palace every day, it doesn't mean you stop bothering! And clean the loos and fix the lock on the door! I wanted to wash my shoes before getting into my car after using them! This is simply not right! People eat in this place! Yuk! read more

The dirtiest cafe I've been to in the uk, dirty plates piled up in the room nearest the counter, dirty tables, used crockery not cleared awa over most of the tables. Great shame as it has the makings of somewhere quite nice in terms of ambiance.Chandeliers need cleaning. and that's the bit you can see!! read more

Dreadful. Shocking service - I have witnessed potential customers wait for service and then give up and I myself have stood at the counter (40wks pregnant) and four members of staff just milled around me. First time I went they got our order wrong and tried to blame us. Should have learnt then. Avoid like the plague. They seem to think they are above doing their job. read more
