Every location of Madame Tussaud's is a little different - always uniquely tailored towards the local culture and geography. This one has geographically irrelevant exhibits such as the theme park ride The Spirit of London, collection of various heads of State and royalty, and of course, media celebrities unique to the United Kingdom. This one location seems uniquely interactive as I've never seen attendees touching the wax figurines as much as here. The chamber of horror section here is focused on England's darker past. And there is currently a Marvel 4-D theater experience included in the entrance fee. on peak days the pre-reserved double Price ticket with a time slot might be convenient for the longer lines that conform here. Otherwise the wait time in queue is not very long and you might as well save your funds for more merchandise purchases from the gift shop within. read more

My second time visiting and there were so may different figures from my previous visit 5 years ago. I would definitely recommend visiting the London location - So much better to visit the Original rather than the Madame Tussaud's around the United States. Here's a tip: We arrived early, just after opening time and didn't have to wait at all to get in or wait to take photos. However, when we walked by the museum later in the day, there was a line that wrapped around the block. Go early to avoid the crowds! I've only been to one other Madame Tussaud's location (in LA, California), so going to the original (1835!!) museum was pretty incredible. I am not even sure how many levels there were, but the fact there is a Disney-like ride and 4D theater among the displays was mind-blowing. It was extremely crowded despite pre-purchasing tickets for a specific entry time. It was also very warm inside (not sure how some of the so life-like it was scary figures were not melting). I learned, from visiting the LA location, that they move figures around to different locations. Being in London, I figured they would retain iconic British icons such as the Spice Girls (the main reason I wanted to visit); sadly, they were not there/on display. The Star Wars set was crazy - I felt as if I was transported into the movies!! It is a tourist attraction, so be prepared to wait and be around A LOT of people, especially if you visit on the weekend. However, it is a fun thing to see if you are a fan of pop culture. read more

First time to a Madame Tussauds. It was more than we expected. The celebrity areas are themed. The details on each "person" is almost lifelike, the hair, skin tone, eyes, truly amazing. You definitely want to get close and pose (or selfie) with your favorite "idol", Madame Tussaud's also has a 3D movie with effects and an indoor ride. This wasn't on our itinerary, but my daughter had so much fun at the one in NYC last year that she asked to squeeze it in. So I took my 12 and 10 year olds and they had the best time posing with all the "celebrities." Favorites included the royal family and Taylor swift, but there were so many good ones. The only celebrities not really present for my son were all the sports stars, but to be expected in London. Beyond the wax celebrities there's a few haunted/spooky experiences, a ride on the history of London and a 3d marvel experience. You can easily kill a few hours here and it's a great activity to do between all the sightseeing for kids. We bought the skip the line tickets just 10 min before going in and walked right in. I have also been to the Madame Tussaud's in Hong Kong and New York City. They are all similar in quality. Firstly, you will see the usual life size wax figures of mainstream celebrities like Tom Cruise, Michael Jackson, Kim Kardashian and The Rock. But then, you will see figures of other celebrities that are geared more towards the location. At this London location, we saw The Beatles, David Beckham, Queen Elizabeth, and Princess Diana. For me, the Madame Tussaud's museums are not a must see, but still a fun way to pass the time. It can get pretty crowded though. read more

Ah-maz-zing! I've been to Madame Tussauds in New York and Vegas. Both locations have been a fun touristy thing for us to do when in town and so we figured that we should definitely stop by the London one while visiting. This location is much larger than it appears from the outside. It hosts iconic historical and present-day figures. They also give a brief history of Madame Tussaud and how she began. The only major downfall is the line and ticket system. It is probably best to go first thing in the morning to avoid long wait times. Be mindful of whatever your ticket time states. Do not bother arriving more than 20 minutes early because chances are that you will not be admitted until your ticket time. Once inside, the space is so large that you never feel rushed or overcrowded. This Madame Tussauds is truly an adventure and more along the lines of a wax museum meets the Disney ride "it's a small world," ride at Disneyland. Very cool concept. Out of all the things I did while in London, this was my least favorite thing to have done. This wasn't even on my radar when I had planned my trip. The only reason I ended up coming here was because when I bought my ticket for the London Eye, one little misstep there and I ended up doing the duel purchase for here. Seeing how you have 90 days to use the ticket to Madame Tussaud's and how I wouldn't be back in London anytime soon, I feel as if I wasted some time coming here. Did I have fun? A bit, but not as much as I would have liked. I will be honest, Madame Tussaud's is a place I wouldn't have minded visiting if I had had more time, but with my limited scheduling I kind of had to run through this place. I really wanted to enjoy myself and take pictures of all the celebrity figures that I had liked, but I was on the verge of wanting to punch someone in the face. Let's be honest about this place in whole, it is nothing more than a tourist trap. Filled to the brim with some of the rudest people you will ever meet. Case in point, I was in line for the Alien exhibit and literally was pushed out of the way so a couple could enter before me. Want to take a picture with say Lady Gaga, yeah, OK, only if you want to have the picture taken with someone you have no idea who they are. Half of what I wanted to do I just walked right by and made probably one of the fastest trips through here. This was an incredibly fun tourist experience. Some of the family doesn't enjoy these sorts of things, so we split into two groups to enjoy the museum. The wax figures on offer appeared to be excellent likeness's of the people they were portraying. It was quite crowded, being a popular tourist attraction, but if this is your sort of thing then enjoy! They even have a little amusement park ride that goes into some of the history of London, and at the end, a walkthrough of the history of Madame Tussaud's and her wax figures. Very neat. read more

Big! Very big! But too many people! I'm here on a Saturday afternoon with a pre-purchased ticket and scheduled time. Took me less than 10 minutes to get into the Madame Tussaud's. We have to used a elevator to the top floor and walking down followed by hundreds of people in front or behind. The rooms are designed to handle a huge amount of people. Therefore, they have to keep the distance between the figures in order to handle so many visitors! But I'm still very hard to find a spot to get pictures! We don't have time to really check out the figures! I can just follow the people moving forward regardless of how much I want to check out the famous figures. The most figures are behind the control ropes. You will have to pay for the pictures if you want to get closer to have a picture together with them! I don't think I'll come here on a weekend or holiday again! I don't know how much less people are here on the weekdays! But I went to other Madame Tussaud's in the other cities. This Madame Tussaud really took me by surprise. I've been to the locations in NY and SF and while I loved seeing the wax statues, I didn't leave overly impressed. First, order your tickets in advance as you'll avoid the line of people trying to buy them on the spot. There was about 200 people in line waiting. Yes, 200. It was nuts. First the bad. Get ready to play bumper cars with humans. Yup, this place was a mad house. So many people that it was almost impossible to take a picture. With that being said, there was a huge array of wax statues here, and even two rides within the tour. Yup, rides! A little wagon type thing, and a Marvel 4-D show. Didn't expect one one of those! Shockingly unprofessional staff and a complete waste of time and money. We paid very good money to be insulted by staff, then have management tell me "I've known him for 15 years, he wouldn't do that!" when I complained about the jerk's behavior. When customers pay the kind of money we paid, we should be treated with dignity and respect. Madame Tussaud's apparently thinks their poop does not stink and that people will continue to pay exorbitant prices to see the same wax figures that have been there for years, so normal customs and courtesies simply do not apply to them. For the extremely high prices they charge, the very few wax figures on display and massive crowds pushing and shoving to have their photo taken with their favorite celebrity mannequin, hardly made it worth the price of admission. On top of that, they try to charge extra other attractions, leading you, quite literally, down the primrose path only to find that the attraction is not included in the price of admission. I went to Madame Tussaud's (London) back in the mid-90s and was not impressed then, so I am certainly not now. The creep that insulted me upon arrival left a bad taste in my mouth and his manager was just as bad, so maybe my perception of the place was a bit jaded. Attendants were nice. But the lines last Dec during holidays were horrible! Too many people and hardly enough space to take pictures with the wax figures. You'll need to get in line whether you have ordinary tickets or special ones, then you get to select available times to get back and go around. The wax figures were different from the ones in Las Vegas... of course it features UK known people but also included famous ones like Albert Einstein, Bollywood stars, Bradd Pitt, famous athletes, Kardashians, etc. I had issues with one of my pictures I paid for as I they're website (picsolve) were having issues. I know, of all the fabulous places to visit in London, my fam and I decide to choose this place as one of them haha We used our 2 for 1 coupon so we thought why not? Omg. When I had the chance to go back to London I HAD to go because I wanted to go back to Madame Tussaud's. It is the BEST part of London. Okay, I mean tower bridge and Big Ben are cool and I guess people get a kick out of the changing of the guard and seeing all that bird shit in Trafalgar Square. But really, if you can't grab wax Brad Pitt's butt or pick wax Obama's nose, what was the point of even going to London? It costs like $60 US to get in. The hours are absurd and they strongly adhere to closing at 5:30 pm and not letting you in A MINUTE late. You can breeze through the exhibits, ride the cab through historic London ride, and watch the superhero 3D movie in under an hour. But. It's so fun. Once, when I only had a day in London, I made the time to go. This fall, I almost cried when it didn't seem I'd be able to make it until time mysteriously freed up on the day of my flight home. Seeing wax people in London and going home to my dog in Boston in the same day? BEST DAY EVER. Tip: pose with the wax. Touch them. You're allowed. Memories will last a lifetime. Madame Tussaud is a very popular attraction. If you order tickets in advance you can avoid the long wait in line. We went around 1pm and it was super busy. It's a very organized area but it was way to crowded. Everyone it's kinda all very close together and people are very rude who don't know how to wait or say excuse me. But overall, They have a variety of all different wax figures and small attractions on the inside. We did alien escape, very quick and fun, it's an extra cost but if you have the package deal it is for free. There is also a Sherlock home ride at the end but it is also a charge. It is a fun attraction to go see if you're in London. They are quite up to date with all the wax figures. read more

The good news is that this is the best Madame Tussaud's anywhere. The collection is extensive and they have figurines of politicians, actors, and celebrities of all stripes. The bad news is that the whole concept is a bit cheesy and good for a few laughs but that's all. I was also extremely disappointed by their online service. I had booked 4 combo tickets (Madame Tussauds and London Dungeon) through their online website and based on the instructions on the web page were told that we had to reserve Madame Tussauds at a particular time, which we did, but then we had 90 days to go to the London Dungeon. However, when we went to the London Dungeon, we were told that the attraction was full and that we would have to come the next day. This was not possible because we were flying out of London the next day. Moreover, this screwed up our plans for London on the last day---very disappointing! Nowhere in the instructions were we told that we had to book the London Dungeon in advance. I have contacted Madame Tussaud's, requesting a refund of the London Dungeon amount in the combo ticket and my review may get updated based on the outcome there. read more

I went to Madame Tussaud's in London on Thursday, June 27th, 2019 and when I went, I was really happy. I got to take pictures with my favourite celebrities, including members of the royal family. I remember Kate Middleton the Duchess of Cambridge was holding my arm during a photo. To me, I thought all the wax figures were real. I have to say, I loved all the wax figures I met and took pictures with, but the Duchess of Cambridge said that she loved me the most and enjoyed having a picture with me and Prince William. If you're into standing on long lines than this wax museum is for you. Not only do they have a waiting line to purchase same day tickets, there is also a separate time entry line so that you can eventually get into the museum. The day we visited it was raining but the line did not fizzle out not in the least. Once inside the picture battle begins. The place is so oversaturated with tourist like me but worse, that you literally have to form your own security muscle to get near the wax figures, take your picture and get out. I remember quite a few patrons I had to repeat, "Please Back UP" or "Excuse Me (with some hand assistance)" just to take a photo. I get some of them or mystified and excited but that doesn't mean leave your courtesy and manners at the door. Inside the museum you will see a lot of familiar faces from politics, athletes, celebrities and performers around the world. Theoretically they say it should take two hours to but the place is huge, has levels they even sell beverages and snacks midway because it's that long. It is the first museum to have a movie theater where we watched a short marvel movie and we even did an indoor ride that took us through some of London's history. Overall, given the variety of the activities it was worth the on line wait, probably would've been better without some of the other people there but hey what can you do. read more

I'm only giving them 4-stars because it is on a main Street and not much outdoor space where you may take pictures and it was pretty packed even if we had a 10am reservation. Love Madame Tussauds as you can really get interactive with the wax works by holding them or posing in anyway that you want with them. You can get snapped with various wax work stars from Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Lopez, Elvis, Queen, etc. Madame Tussauds keeps the museum up to date by making new wax work models every so often and creating special zones every so often. At present (I went May 2015) they have a Star Wars zone where there is 16 areas you can get yourself snapped with a character from Yoda to Darth Vader. Highly reccommend for any Star Wars lover. Yoda is my best out of the characters in the zone. However please note that it is a extra £3 pp to see the Star Wars zone on top of your admission ticket. Tip to get to see the Star Wars zone without so many people around skip seeing the 4D Marvel film. Only downside in my opinion with Madame Tussauds is that it gets too busy and can be quite a nightmare to get a photo with the wax works especially when people push in front etc. I reccommend going in the months that there are less tourists around and when children are at school. read more

I went to this Museum last summer, and I keep a good souvenir. I and my fiancé had a funny time: the characters are so realistic, it is the best chance to play a trick on our friends when we're back to France ("Hey look, I took a photo with lady Gaga and Ronaldo when I went to London!!"! I also really enjoyed the attraction "Chamber of horrors": we were walking across zombies and monsters, jumping from nowhere in the dark. I recommend it to anyone who looks for seeks thrill ! We laughed a lot thanks to the company of the less braves who were howling every 3 seconds! Good attraction but there were no wax figures! The negative points: the terribly long waiting queue, which characterizes every highly touristic place in London; and the price which is rather high... I don't know I would have paid the actual ticket price, but it was a fun add in the explorer pass and the Sherlock Holmes museum was nearby so it was a logical stop. Definitely get there as early as you can so you aren't waiting in line. There is free WiFi inside which is good because you are likely to lose mobile signal in all the levels of the building. I loved the star wars and movie themed areas. My mom was disappointed there weren't more historical figures, but I thought she was going to swoon at the John Wayne figure! It's quite fun to see the wax models of famous people throughout history including political figures, celebs, and athletes. It takes around 1.5 to 2 hours to complete a visit of Madame Tussauds, including SCREAM and the Marvel Super Heroes 4D movie experience. However, I'd budget about 2 hours inside, so you see all the figures and snap some photos, and also be sure to leave some time for the queue to get in, as during high tourist times, the line can be very long. This was my second time at Madam Tussauds. It was really FUN this time. I went years ago as an adolescent with my mom and don't remember having this much fun. They do lose one star for the crowd!!!!! I freely admit, I visited Madam Tussauds on a Bank Holiday weekend, so that was a mistake. Despite having pre-purchased tickets, I still had to queue up in a line that double-looped and took about an hour to get to the museum door. Super annoying, but not nearly as annoying as the inside of the museum. Truly, I don't understand why there isn't some way to manage the number of people allowed to be in the various rooms at one time. Hockey players have been elbowed less than I was inside this place. People thought nothing of jumping in front of those waiting to snap photos of the wax figures and the only areas where this conduct wasn't happening was in the areas where there was an obvious spot to line up (such as the Robert Pattinson figure). I'm sure that if I had attended during an off weekend or during the week, the experience would not have been as bad, at least I would hope so. On the up-side, the wax figures looked fantastic. If you're going to stand in line forever, baking in the hot sun, wondering why you spent good money to stand in said line, you're gonna want the prize at the end of that sad rainbow to be a pot of gold. Right? Well, in this case, it's a bunch of wax figures that look like famous people. Some of them ARE pretty freakish, with how impressive the likeness is. After a few rooms, though, I was reminded that I was always a bit disinterested in this affair, and that I had just paid top dollar to stand in a line for an hour to see Patrick Stewart and Adele dummies. A few year's back, I took my Mum and wee brother to Madame Tussaud's. They wanted to do some cheesy London tourist stuff and this was the perfect place to take them. The museum is always pretty busy, we booked our tickets in advance though. Once we were inside, the place was pretty mobbed - as you can imagine. Some of the waxworks were pretty good actually. I was surprised to see how tiny Penelope Cruz was and just how pert J-Lo's bum was! My Mum and brother had a great time and we took so many great photos. Their waxworks are ever changing to keep the museum contemporary. There are some historical waxworks there too though. Presidential / government figures, world leaders, the royal family. This place was really fun. I'd say, if you want to do something really fun and tourist-like then this is one of your number one hot spots. We went to Madam Tassauds, as a family, during the summer. There were huge queues to get in and it was really expensive. I was surprised that it was allowed to get so crowded in the rooms with the wax works. My husband had a fantastic day out. He thoroughly enjoyed looking at the figures and having his photo taken with as many as he could. My boys, on the other hand, simply hated it. They had very little knowledge of who the wax works were meant to be and in fact they didn't care. They wanted their picture taken with Beckham but there was no order to the queuewhoever shoved the hardest got seen the quickest. For me it was fine.
