I've been coming to this Ace Hardware in Daytona Beach for about five years, and it's always a great experience. I've picked up everything from paint to boxes, tape, and more. Today I stopped in for storage bins and Chuck and David were so helpful--they even helped load my car! They always have a great selection of local honey too, which I love. I can see why they are always hiring staff though. Undoubtedly, they want the best staff. It is tough to find good work ethics in this day and age, unless you look at 40 plus individuals. Or perhaps the few that have had good work ethics instilled in their upbringing. Tough around here these days. So yes, I will pay more for a product to support quality customer service and the small business owner. Lowe's can only compete by cheap prices. I just went to ACE Madden's in Ormond Beach. Came here yesterday also. This will be my last trip. The girl checking me out took her face mask off while ringing the last customer. She wiped the sweat from her face with her hands . left the mask and handled money. She was very nice however she was not mask the person who registers down had his mask hanging on one ear they had it in such a way that you could not socially distance to pay or to shop. You had to work very close to one another in line all the aisles were clogged so that there was absolutely no social distancing in the store on either day. It is very un-safe people in this time of Covid! I was trying to shop locally owned but I clearly have to go to Lowe's since they have corporate rules to deal with safety! read more

On moving day ( of all days) ran to ace for some screws to put the bed together. Got my front bumper caught on a huge bolt sticking out of the concrete stop. They said they would pay for repair. Brought in receipt which they copied and waited one week when I inquired to the store I was Referred to Jennifer at their corporate office , who initially said she didn't know anything about it, had not received any paperwork from store. While I was calling store Jennifer called back to say they had paid Toyota directly by charge. After calling several calls to try and track where the extra payment went ( I already paid) Jennifer called back the 3rd time to say she needed an additional copy of my receipt and she would refund my cost. Jennifer was so condescending and rude and more importantly inaccurate with the details she provided.Thank God they keep her in an office an not in position where she is in direct contact with the public! I have been shopping at this Ace for the longest time, if I saw something that was on sale on line the store would honor it. I was yesterday trying to purchase some items that were on sale online the cashier said she didn't know about it and just stood there the woman to the right interrupted and said no I told her they always gave me the sale price and she still said no. I asked her to call the manager this kid walks up and also says no. I was not very happy with them no she's no greeting and now no giving me the online price. Do I told the kid I would go somewhere else these people made me fill like I was begging. After an exchange of words from the woman who interrupted I left the store. I called the Ace in Ormond I spoke to the manager he said he would honor the price. When I went to the cashier to pay the woman said oh yes this stuff in on sale. So much for the customer is always right at the Holly Hill store, I will being shopping in Ormond Beach for now on. read more

I've never been to this Ace Hardware. I don't even live in the same city. I've only dealt with Jonathan (the store manager) over the phone. I had a problem with my Kamado Joe grill (that I didn't even purchase from this store), and this Ace Hardware is a KJ dealer. KJ's corporate support is absolutely terrible, and I was getting nowhere with my issue. I started calling dealers near me, and Jonathan definitely answered the call. I described my issue and asked if Jonathan could help me at all with a Real Human phone number at KJ, insight into reasons why KJ support was so terrible, or any information why the warranty-replacement part I finally received from KJ support was the wrong part. Jonathan didn't have any immediate answers for me but was very sympathetic to my issue. He said he'd call his dealer contacts to try to get me more information. A few hours later, he did. He'd spent most of those hours going through his dealer contacts and finally got a KJ human who was incredibly less than helpful. Jonathan passed that info back to me and said he wouldn't stop trying. The next day, he said he was able to get on the phone with one of the upper managers at KJ support who was just as appalled at my issue and the horrible customer service experience I had with KJ's support staff. That afternoon, I received an email from KJ support that completely cleared up my issue and confirmed the warranty-covered order of all necessary replacement parts (basically, everything on the outside of the grill that isn't ceramic when my original issue was that the hinge broke). Jonathan went above and beyond what I'd hoped, and if he's managing that store, I have to imagine he trains his staff that way. If I'm ever in the area, I will go in the store to shake his hand and buy something. read more

Beware if purchasing anything form this store. I would give Zero stars if you could, worst customer service very rude. I purchase a $1400 Traeger Grill from them on 6/14/19, on 7/5/19 I called to ask how I could return the grill as I was not satisfied, as it had already stated to rust on both the inside and the stainless steel shelf. as well as the flame goes out and does not work properly. I was told they do not take back Traeger grills and I need to call the Traeger. I then asked to speak with the Manager, Johnathan Prather got on the phone I explained the situation to him. He said I need to call Traeger and they do not take back returns for Traeger grills. I asked about the 30 day return policy they had and was told sorry we don't take back Traeger we only sell them. I told him legally they need to disclose this to people at the time of purchase. His answer was "Son don't go quoting me legal stuff". Now I know why I should continue to shop at HomeDepot. I was trying to give the business to a local company and I am sorry I did. read more

This location has a friendly and helpful staff and a wide variety of products in stock. There is always someone willing to guide you from the front of the store to the exact place where the item you need is located, and they will spend time to answer your questions as well. They communicate by radio's, so the service is speedy when they need to coordinate activities between themselves, such as when paying for and then picking up gardening supplies. Their prices are higher than those of Lowe's and Home Depot on most products, but they are more convenient to get to when you just have to pick up a couple of small items. Their discount program for contractors is a hassle and leaves a lot to be desired. read more

Buyer Beware! I just had an extremely unfortunate loud argument with the "owner" of the local Ace hardware. Yesterday I purchased a set of Torx heads from their store. They were recommended and I was told they would work in my ratchet wrench. I tried one and it wasn't a great fit so I put it away for return. Right torx head, not such great advice on the ratchet. So, I re-wrapped them and took them back today. The cashier said; "look at your receipt- no tools returns accepted." (What a fine place to let you know- after the purchase.) The assistant manager, same story. The "OWNER" and I got into a big 5 MINUTE argument. All I got out of the argument was my own incompetency at using a ratchet set. Our voices escalated and echoed throughout their store. I told him he was making me feel like a fool and that he was making me nervous. He required I follow him to the tool aisle where he showed me a faded, sheet on the back side of an end cap which stated no tool returns. I said; "you could at least place it where customers might see it too." I stated that his employee sold me the item and said it would work in any ratchet set; it did not work for me. In fact the owner couldn't make it work in front of me either. (At that point I said; "now you're embarrassing yourself as well.") I even offered to go get my ratchet set. I said this is what your employee sold me, his advice. It didn't work and I want my money back. He then dragged the poor smuck who sold me the item up to join the argument. He finally asked me to leave the store and I told him he was a real jackass. All this, actual YELLING on both sides, for a re-packaged unused item. Total Price $6.99 + tax. Total Value: lost sale from me that day: $11.99 + tax and never shopping there again. plus telling the whole internet, all family and friends that this store does in deed have a very poor return policy. THE OWNER TOLD ME I SHOULD SHOP AT WAL-MART IF I WANTED THAT KIND OF RETURN POLICY. I told him I would start shopping at Home Depot from now on. I should of know from previous returns at this store. They would always say. Can't you keep it, don't you think you will use it some other time? read more
