    Outdoor dining.

Stopped in here based on other reviews including Yelp and was not disappointed. I would rate the food a 5 but because the gentleman who took our order was pretty rude and curt when we asked a few questions, my rating is a 4. The food was excellent and the outdoor dining was very nice. We shared a spaghetti carbonara and caprese salad and it was plenty for us.

    Mixed salad and Regina pizza

I love this place. We didn't make reservations so went there a bit earlier for dinner to beat the crowd. At 6pm, the place was already full. Per our waiter's recommendation, we had "Regina" pizza, which was just awesome - thin crust, so tasty and just cooked perfectly. I wish I could try their pasta too. Would love to recommend the place to anyone who craves Italian food in Lucerne.

    Salmon Risotto

Went to the restaurant at 9:30pm after shooting night pictures around the Chapel Bridge. The service and atmosphere were great. We sat at an outside table enjoying the fresh air, an ice cold beer and nice food! Wife had the salmon risotto and I had a lasagna. Good portions, very delicious and good value! We will come eat again!

The flavor of my truffle ravioli was delish! I only wish they weren't so alienate. I love when ravioli is soft/fluffy. Otherwise it was fantastic. My hubbie had a salmon pizza. It had a nice thin crust and was not oily. He didn't even have a stomach ache the next time like he usually does after pizza lol. The ingredients seemed quite fresh.

Just what we needed while in Luzern - some good Italian love! LOVE Switzerland, but sometimes they can take their dining a little too serious. A little off the beaten path - worth the effort to find this place! As soon as we were sat in "Made in Sud", we felt so relaxed - our host/server? Paola spoke little English but was such a delight; Raymond was so fun and friendly - our family really enjoyed his service. All our food was very much enjoyed! We had a family of four - final bill came to 163.00 -that did include some adult beverages. But we thought this was a pretty good deal for Luzern.

    Gnocchi

The food was absolutely delicious!! I got the gnocchi and my husband got the salmon. I would definitely eat here again.

We love Italian food and eat it quite often, and even when traveling. Our meals at Made in Sud were delicious.

It's a good thing this plaza being in a pedestrian-only section. It's about a block and a half away from the Lake Luzern where all the fancy restaurants are located on the lake front, so it is a little more reasonable place even with a very pricy Swiss standard. I read some earlier (older) reviews about high prices, but you really have to remember it's in Switzerland. Everything is expensive here!! You just have to spend some more money and enjoy yourself. Service was very decent with several cheerful servers. Drinks and food came out pretty quickly after ordered. It might have been largely due to not being too crowded when we got our table since we were having a late lunch/early dinner. They checked our COVID-19 vaccination certificates as we expected. Food was very good. Ravioli with mushroom sauce (24.50 CHF = $26.75) was excellent. Initially, it didn't appear to be too large of a serving to me, but I was completely full when I finished my meal. Chicken on the Cesar salad (17.50 CHF = $19.10) was well-seasoned, and my wife really enjoyed it. It was altogether very enjoyable dining experience here at Mama Leone!

The waiter was a true pleasure. A young Hispanic man that had lived in Spain. He was very accommodating and attentive. The view and atmosphere was unbeatable. The food was so delicious. We had wine and salad followed by the chorizo fondue and perch fillets. We had to finish with dessert after such a great meal! Warm gingerbread and the most beautiful Irish coffee. Truly great and I highly recommend this restaurant. The bathroom is also something to behold with chandeliers and an original vintage toilet. 10/10!

Plenty of indoor seating is available, but seems like a waste of a gorgeous view and a clear day. Check out the bathroom inside-- hand painted porcelain bowls and an oil painting in the stall make you feel like royalty as you wee. The Hugo cocktail was nice, but a little diluted by ice. Ironically, the drinks here usually do not arrive with ice (and I love my ice). We thought we requested tap water, but received 2 small carafes of iced water for a 9 charge of Swiss francs. At least the water was served with lemon slices. The pasta dish was tasty-- a creamy Parmesan sauce with bits of bacon. The beef tartar looked better than it tasted-- it was infused with some sort of tomato sauce that didn't work well with the dish. If you want the view and can find a seat, go for it. If you are looking meticulously for fine dining, skip it.

We started with the bruschetta, which was incredibly fresh and flavorful. For our main courses, I had the cannelloni, my wife and son each enjoyed a pizza, and my daughter ordered the ravioli with butter and sage sauce. Every dish was exceptional. The ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, everything was perfectly prepared, and each meal was absolutely delicious. The service was warm, attentive, and welcoming without ever feeling rushed. Combined with the beautiful waterfront atmosphere, it was one of our favorite dining experiences of our trip. We completely fell in love with Lucerne, and Da Ernesto was a big part of that experience. If you're looking for authentic Italian food in a spectacular location with excellent service, this restaurant is an easy five star recommendation. We would gladly return.

We expected to find nothing open as it was a Sunday afternoon in a not-that-touristy area. At first glance this place looked closed, but (waaaaait for it...) it was actually open and pretty packed. My friend and I obvioulsy went in (we're like ninja turtles and can't say no to pizza). The menu was quite large. I ended up ordering the Pizza Gelsomi, which had mozzarella, asparagus, oregano, and an egg on it. I ate the entire thing #judgementfreezone. My friend ordered a Quattro Stagioni Pizza, which she said was incredible. She lived in Italy before, so she knows her stuff. We definintely stayed a half hour past their closing time (I think they close for a bit between lunch and dinner hours), but they didn't rush us or kick us out. In fact, we had to flag down our waiter to get our check. Recommend.
