The older lady came to help and from the beginning I just wanted to walk back out! She was so nasty to the point of frustration. I held my tongue bc I just kept remembering my previous experience but no matter how calm and cool I was, she just kept responding with aggression and nastiness. Even after I sold my pieces and said I'm not done you'll be taking 1/2 of this back, she was just nasty. I finally just decided not to get the piece I liked and left. That lady was enough to make me never want to return.

My half-hearted mission on this trip were 1950s Pyrex mixing bowls. Last week I stopped by a store in Marietta that was selling a set of three for $155. Too rich for my blood, though perhaps not out of line. (I looked at the "Replacement" china/tableware website and saw individual bowls going for $119! That's crazy!) Anyway, here I found two Pyrex bowls in great shape -- different vendors -- each going for $20. I bought 'em. If you're looking for serious antiques you're not likely to find them at the Madison Flea Market. I noticed a number of booths selling Fiesta Ware. I can't comment about authenticity -- not something I collect -- but if you're in the market, might be worth a look.

I really appreciated how organized and beautifully staged the various items were. I could have stayed here even longer. Other big stores are six months…read morebehind in receiving stock, but Askew had my Kichenaid low profile over-range microwave and Kitchenaid electric stove in stock and delivered them within a few weeks. The delivery team called before they arrived and were right on time. They installed the microwave quickly and efficiently, and checked to make sure I was satisfied with everything. Nelson noticed a defect in the range as he unpacked it and showed it to me. He arranged with his manager to locate another one and went back to the store to pick it up that day. They came back and installed it, ensuring that I wanted it level (instead of arranged for looks within my different height countertops. Great service - thanks so much.
