Maestros is where we had breakfast on our 2nd day in Ronda. It is a typical Tapa bar, quintessential European experience that we were looking for. Conveniently located opposite Plaza de Toros, where we were headed after breakfast. Very friendly owners and customers. We sat at the bar and ordered breakfast, like Europeans do. Bar Maestro was suggested to us by the host at our AirBnB. It was relatively easy to find and on a Main Street in Ronda. The place itself is unassuming, very old Spanish in style, and clearly frequented by many locals. We had just come from Granada so we had a learning curve when it came to ordering here. Obviously the employees didn't speak much (if any) English so make sure if you visit you have a decent amount of Spanish to help you with ordering. I recommend making sure to specifiy that you want tapa sized portions (if you're looking for tapas) because a couple of the dishes we ended up with were full "rationes" and 1/2 "rationes" and much bigger than we anticipated until we wisened up and started asking for tapas. Overall this place was really cheap! For 2 beers, a half order of the tomato and potato dish, a full order of ensaladilla and a tapa size of the mini ribs our bill came out to roughly €12,50. The food was well (aggressively) seasoned and very flavorful. If you're looking for authentic tapas in Ronda, this is certainly a good spot to try! read more

Definitely check this place out and sit at the bar. Or outside at night, since that's what all the cool kids in Spain do. Either way, it's a spot the locals clearly adore. Their Ensaladilla Rusa was probs the best we had in Spain. Just make sure to EAT IT WITH PICOS. Seriously! Picos make the difference when it comes to certain tapas like Ensaladilla and Tortilla, just to name a couple. We also ordered a Potatoes w/Tomatoes and Green Peppers that was excellent--I enjoyed it a little more than the GF, but we both ate A LOT of it. Then we gnawed on some little Rib Meat things...we basically saw them displayed at the bar and asked for a Tapas portion. No regrets. Those little salty, meaty bites were killer. It was a ton of food plus a few drinks and the bill was only 12 Euros. Goodness I'm gonna miss those Spain prices--especially the prices throughout Southern Spain. Don't worry, we went for a long walk after this. Long enough to get hungry again for another stop at another tapas joint. read more

This is a very good local restaurant. It is not a tourist trap, but was full of locals. We were waited on by one of the owners (or at least her picture was on the wall.) Very typical tapas and they were very good. It is a small place and my wife and I sat at the bar. It you want a small "dive" restaurant...this is your place. read more
