What a great store! This place has stuff you'll only find on-line. Edwin Jagger, Merkur, Proraso, Cello, Abko, Feather, Derby, etc. The really cool thing about this place is they have testers of almost all aftershaves, lotions, soaps, etc. The owner (I believe his name is Brad) is a great guy. He's glad to spend as much time with you as you need to fill you in on the variations of his wares, etc. There is no pressure to buy, you can spend as much time as you need and he's glad to assist. I see most of the reviews for this place are from folks that are buying on-line. If you have a chance to visit the store, do so. Maggard Razors is a small business that sells shaving gear, soaps, creams, and also services straight razors. Their stock is diverse, including products from large and small companies. Both women and men can find products that suit their needs. I was impressed that not only could I buy many different kinds of shaving soaps, but I could even sample several of the brands. I learned about Maggard Razors on Reddit. The owners are active posters on the Wicked_Edge subreddit - always willing to offer support, suggestions, information, etc. Other members told stories of their experiences with Maggard Razors (typically involving multiple return trips or long-distance purchases) and I knew I wanted to give them a try. For my first order, I wanted to try samples of their own soaps and oils. Less than 24 hours after placing my order, I received an email saying my order had shipped. It arrived soon after. Did I mention that the shipping fee was less than expected?! I liked the fact that they weren't trying to make a profit on the shipping charge. I have only tried 1 of the soaps and 1 of the oils because each of the samples lasts through several shaves. This place is amazing! Customer service is phenomenal! My husband and I took a 2 hour drive to visit the store in person and it was well worth it. They have the most amazing selection of shave soaps, aftershave, razors, blades and more, even for the ladies. If you're into wet shaving this is the best place to visit in person or online. Maggard Razors is a Mecca for those interested in wet shaving (soap and brush). They have an absolutely astonishing number of soaps and aftershaves in various scents available for sale (with testers for each so you can find one that is perfect for you) and they also have one of the best varieties of double-edge razors I have ever seen including their own brand (which are excellent) as well as modern Merkur, Muhle, and others and a few vintage razors for sale as well. If you're into straight razors, they apparently also not only sell them but also hone and restore new or vintage straights. They even have a huge selection of shaving brushes and other paraphernalia for the shaving enthusiast. My first experience with Maggard was buying some materials from their online store, but after having made a trip to their storefront, I am even more impressed. Although I have never visited the shop I have been an online customer for the past three years. Brad et. al. has the best customer service in the business bar none. They offer a profusion of products from multifarious small artisans and also big name players in the wet-shaving and men's grooming subculture. The website could use some work (self-admitted by Brad on IRC) but that really is the only drawback to Maggard. Online orders are promptly filled, shipping is fast, prices are fair, and returns are easy and hassle free. The staff is knowledgeable about the products they sell and will always point you in the right direction if advice is solicited. There is a monthly newsletter that typically is running some deal or informing customers of the newest product offerings. They rotate items through on the clearance page so keep an open. This place is horrible for customer service. I ordered a Edwin Jagger razor, plus case and razors. Never showed up. I needed it quick, so I paid extra to expedite it. Total waste of money. I contacted their customer service, e explained I needed it by this Saturday, and the lady told me to call back in 21 days, if it didn't show up. Very rude, very condensending, and total lack of caring that I needed it in 4 days, after the scheduled delivery date. Was told that I could reorder it, but they couldn't guarantee that it would be here before Saturday. They refused it help in anyway at all. I have to go elsewhere to try to get it. Don't do business with these people, I am out over 70 dollars because they cannot even ship a package right and follow through with any amount t of customer service read more

I've only dealt with Maggard through their online website. The website has a very large selection of wet shaving products. Prices are fair, shipping is accurate(double checked), packed safely, and shipped immediately. Their huge selection of samples are fantastic, as I hate committing to a full size package of an item where I don't like the scent! The samplers are great alternative. Also, don't be afraid to try their products with the Maggard name on them, they are great. I wish I lived closer, as I'd love to check out the store, and hear the staff is top notch. read more

I've been shopping with Maggard Razors for all of my shaving gear and needs since I started (approximately 6-7 months ago) and would be hard-pressed to consider another store to purchase. The amount of diversity in shaving products is huge, and for someone getting started, it can be hard to figure out where to start. Luckily, with my first purchase, I was able to order a ton of samples to help me figure out what I do and don't like. They were quick to respond to my order and let me know they had it received (even though it was a weekend) and shipped it out ASAP, with a shipping notice in my inbox by the afternoon on the next business day. I've had good luck with Maggard in the past; however, I placed an order for shaving soap, shipped the same day, all good. The default shipping choice is FedEx SmartPost. I went with it, thinking I would receive my soap in a few days. I'll certainly take the blame for selecting FedEx SmartPost, but you had better be prepared to wait minimum 10-14 days for your merchandise, and have no immediate need. If I managed the business, and I don't, I would remove this method of shipping considering Priority Mail is about $3 more. PM to Houston, Tx is no more than 3 days. I searched SmartPost. It's an arrangement between FedEx and USPS. USPS can be something of an experience, right, saying the least. Wish me luck on my current order. read more

Within the hour of placing my order I get a text from Casey Maggard to let me know the order was received and when it will ship. The business continues to grow so I don't know how much longer she can continue to do that, but wow, talk about personal service! So impressive and so kind. The selection of shaving products continues to grow, and the prices are the lowest I've seen compared to other shaving sites. They carry a huge selection of shaving supplies, safety and straight razors, and Brad Maggard also offers honing and reconditioning services for straight razors. I love this place. I only use the virtual storefront since I'm not local, but the customer service and products here are top notch. I like the other reviewer learned about Maggard from reddit's /r/wicked_edge shaving forum. I wasn't new to double edge shaving, but my gear had previously been cheap and poor quality. My first order here was for a pile of new software (lathers, aftershaves, pre-shave oils) and hardware (blades mostly). The difference between my original gear and the new upgrades was like night and day. For anyone looking at getting into DE shaving, the Maggard branded gear is top notch. They offer a beginner kit that combines a razor, synthetic brush, lather, and blades that are affordable and comparable to many higher priced options, you can't go wrong. I personally love their "sampler" packs of lather and oils. Since I'm remote and can't try them in person, this is the next best option. They pack down full size tubs into tiny sample sizes so you can smell and try them out at home before committing to a full size tub of something new. I've got probably 20 samplers in my drawer now waiting to try. Customer service has also been super quick and helpful. I bought the women's DE set for my fiance for Christmas (she loves it! happy to spend less and get a better shave than her cartridge). But after a few days she noticed the razor (a Maggard MR19c) had an uneven blade (one side stuck out more than the other). I sent them an email asking if this was normal and included a few pictures. Less than an hour later and they'd already let me know they were shipping out a replacement head for it. Extremely happy with the response and I'm sure they'll keep getting my business and referrals since we don't have a local shave shop around us. The stainless steel razors (handles only, heads are still pot metal) and high quality "cooked" Italian style soaps are the the main draw here. Great prices and the lathers and aftershaves have given me the best shaves of my life. The hardest part is not buying all of them. For those using the eshop, the shipping has been crazy fast. My few orders have all shipped within 24 hours (usually even same day) and come via priority mail with 2-3 days tops. They've been beating Amazon Prime in speed and offering products I can't get via Amazon (my normal shopping place). The owners are active on /r/wicked_edge and very interactive with the community.
