I bought 5 roses from them as I planted the the same day, I noticed a small black dot. Then took the leaf with the dot on it. the same day! The lady there said it was some kind of fungus, then SOLD me a cure, after a month trying to bloom it looked like someone threw gravy on them. 4 are dead. BE CAREFUL!!!!!! read more

The best perennial selection I have found within 25 miles of Ann Arbor, up there with Gee Farms in Stockbridge and another place I have heard rumors about on the other side of Westland. In addition to having some hard to find plants, they also seem to be very careful about taking care of the plants they have. It is the only place I've found kiwi vines, variegated climbing hydrangea, and epimediums. I can't speak to annuals, shrubs, or trees. But I was impressed and thought the 50 minute drive was worth it. Call or write ahead if you are looking for a very particular plant. read more

I purchased this birdbath June 29, 2024. What is able to use it July ,August, September and October. October 31 I placed it leaning up against the riser off the ground throughout the winter and it proceeded to crumble. I first called the store in April and ask for some help. The end of April I was able to get To speak to Nancy at the store and was unable to get any help from her. Nancy first was telling me that this was poor quality of manufacturing that the manufacture should be responsible, but the manufacture is no longer in business per Nancy. I asked Nancy if the store would be willing to do anything for me I was told no.The approximate $150 birdbath due to poor quality just crumbled. I placed an order on Thursday for an arrangement for my Aunt's 80th birthday the following Saturday(June 9 2018). I noticed an arrangement on their website that was priced at $50. ---- http://www.barrettsflowerandgardens.com/product/va0609/life-of-the-party I wanted something special so ask for it to be $100. I should have been concerned when a my total was $114. The employee said they had to add a delivery fee. I should have questioned this as the church was 1(ONE) mile from the florist. The arrangement that was delivered had -- 6 roses, 3 pom-pom mums, 3 small carnations, 3 short stems of something purple, 3 Delphinium stems, 3 Lisianthus , a few other assorted stems with buds that it's hard to tell what they are in the picture. Random greenery. Had I been able to attend from SC, this pitiful bunch of flowers would have been returned. read more

Barrett's is the best place for annuals, perennials, grasses and shrubs. They always have a large variety and the prices are reasonable. Barrett's staff are knowledgeable and ready to help. It's my favorite place all year long because I always get my birdseed from them as well. read more

I called today from California to see if I can get an arrangment delivered to a funeral that was starting in an hour. The florist I talked to was so understanding, and was incredibly helpful when I mentioned that I had really no idea of what to order. I mentioned that I would like something nice with some color. The arrangement was delivered on time. My mom sent me a picture, and they look really beautiful. This was a really nice experience. Thier service is great! read more

I like Barrett's for their outdoor gardening plants. Prices are fair and they sometimes get unusual plants, and hard to find plants. They also do some gorgeous hanging baskets. But customer service is lacking. Trying to find someone to answer questions can be difficult, and I've ended up loading my own compost into my car outside because no one comes to help. Prices on decorative outdoor items are high - but I find them to be high at all nurseries. All in all, a nice small town nursery! read more
