I used Maggie's shutters on two occasions and both worked out great. I had one small problem with one large shutter and they came out quickly and fixed it with no hassle and no charge. AT ONE POINT THEY WERE GREAT: That's right, you heard it right, at one point, they were great, the team was great - worked very fast, and communication was on point. The pricing was hard to beat, and the quality was great! I first used them on one of my properties/homes in Los Angeles - and continued to use them on other properties of mine. And on top of that, referred so much business to them as a result of their proven reputation. Brandin was a great straightforward, honest guy - really likable and followed through. BUT WAIT, WHAT CHANGED?: Just as many have experienced, I'm now a victim. They've been promising various dates to repair warranty items and have failed every promise/date (they haven't for months on months on months show up to fulfill their obligation). I called in and spoke with Michelle, who apologized (this was months ago) and she committed to having a tech visit the week of the 7th in November, we're now in the end of December, and not a word! They won't answer calls anymore, it goes to their answering service which by the way is a third party company. In a few days it's New Years and at this point I've realized they're not going to come. I asked Michelle earlier in 2022 what the issue was, and she said they only had a single installer which I understood, and was patient with -- but not once has it been mentioned the hardships the company is going through, with the IRS etc. I don't expect for them to be in business long, the reviews (recent ones) reflect exactly the situation I've experienced with them and currently still am experiencing. It's such a disgrace to see a once solid company, with long history in business turn their backs to customers, take deposits without fulfilling any orders/providing service and ignore phone calls, and such. Showed up for estimate. Took our deposit. Gave us a date and never heard from them again. Left multiple messages for Brandon and heard nothing. Been waiting since August 2022. Very disappointing to read reviews of others who had their orders expedited above others who have been waiting patiently for months. Where is the loyalty to those who've supported them through the years? Would not recommend them. Is anyone having issues with returned calls. I first submitted my order in June. I leave a message almost weekly and I can't get anyone to call me back. I've already made my deposit of $550. When they do answer the phone, they say they will call back or they claim that their answering service hasn't left a message. When I called again and spoke with the answering service and I told them that they are not getting my messages, the gal let out a laugh. I was told last week that my shutters will be ready this Thursday and that I would get a call this week, still nothing. Next, I will be reporting to better business bureau. I just want my money back. I wish I could give NO stars. We ordered shutters from Brandon back in April! We were told it would be 6 weeks, at 6 weeks we called and were told 3 weeks. They told us 3 more weeks for months. Finally, we were told they were going to install them on September 21st at 4pm. Brandon called at noon to tell me they would not be there because the shutters wern't ready yet. He said they would be ready for sure on Monday 9/26 and scheduled the installation for Wednesday just to be sure. It was the one and ONLY time, outside of when he took our $2400 deposit, we have heard from him! I finally gave up and canceled the order on 10/9 after calling over and over, trying to get my shutters installed. I was told by Michelle, I would be receiving a full refund in 7-10 days. I still have not received a refund and the only communication I have received was an invoice showing I still owe THEM! OMG! I am beyond disappointed. We went with Maggie's because it was a family-run business and my sister used them years ago. We have called multiple times, left messages, wrote emails, and sent text messages. I have no choice but to send a letter to the Attorney General. We have given Brandon every opportunity to make this right and he has chosen to ignore us over and over. I would recommend that everyone that has been scammed out of their hard-earned money send the Attorney General a letter as well. And EVERY TIME Maggie's provides me with the lowest rate not to mention it's all HAND MADE CUSTOM WORK not compressed wood from China. It takes a few weeks to get my order, but I expect that from hand made products. Plus the product lasts for years. Should you have a choice on who comes out to install your blinds ask for Aaron and Levon. Both guys wore shoe-covers and masks the entire time they worked in my two-story home during COVID-19. This is an update from my previous review. Brandon reached out almost the day after I posted my last review and offered to refund my money via zelle. He made great promises about how he was going to return the money but no a single dime has returned. I have filed a report with the Sheriff's department considering the vast number of complaints this guy has received they should have enough for a fraud case against him. Additionally he is not licensed violating Business & Professions Code for unlicensed work as a contractor which entitles his victims to full disgorgement of all monies paid. I highly recommend that each person victimized by this company file a police report with their local police agency. I am working with the District Attorney's consumer fraud division to put a case together against Brandon. Please insist that the law enforcement agency take a report and ask for a report number so that the DA'S have something to work with in their case. Start Date July, August, September 2021: From the very start its been one thing after another. Brandon the owner came to our new home because he was referred to Us by a family member who used his services for their new home. Brandon was flaky the very first introduction he also seemed under the influence to the point my wife mentioned it to me as well. Not the last time he seemed under the influence. He began measuring out 26 windows. He advised us that he would send these measurements to be made & we would get a call from Michelle: never got a call. Eventually I made it an issue that weve been waiting over 6 weeks when we were promised 3-4 weeks. No communication. No update. NO blinds & 26+ windows beaming the summer heat through all day. Brandon said, Oh we forgot to drop off the temp shades. Wow dude!! Really? Brandon said he would drop some off to us the next business day. 2 days later He calls us back to ask us for another payment. Brandon then calls back saying if WE can meet him at Home Depot with the cash because he wasnt going to make it over to our neighborhood. My wife met him with the cash. Brandon gave my wife some temp shades (all different sizes) From what i was told Brandon & his team installed all the temp shades in my relatives new home but not us. Fast Fwd to day of install & already issues the first day measurements were wrong so when Aaron + 2 other men - one was the brother in law to Brandon & the other was a older hispanic man. I noticed how the bro in law spoke to the hispanic dude and let me just say I let them know they are to speak to this man with respect in my house or they can get the hell out. As the men were bringing in the shutters thats when they noticed several were missing from the set, and some were measured incorrectly which meant they were to come back again to complete the install. Aaron was the more professional employee. He was communicative & honest! The install took a few months to "complete" and so when Brandon came to collect the balance I let him know about all my displeasures with him and his company, his wife and their office staff. The shutters that were installed were done half fast. Aaron did the install which to my eyes looked fine however the bro in law was to put silicone caulking all around the frames which he failed at doing. We didnt notice till the sun was beaming one day and i saw sun light coming from all around the frames some from the top, side and bottom. Not to mention the powder caulking they put on the seams was very shottie. I pointed out for $10K plus the lines and grooves that meet at the seams should all be flush, match up almost perfectly. Brandon told me thats how they were made and they wont be perfect. I said never asked for them to be perfect i am pointing out too many flaws. Eventually he agreed to take some back redo them & apply a discount from the entire cost of the custom shutters but wanted payment in full. Yes i know i messed up cause the work was not 100% complete. Weeks go by and no update. No communication regarding the replacement shutters. Eventually, Aaron was sent to my home 2 more times to address some areas, redo the caulking around the frames, replace some shutters that were cracked, split, or had visible damage with some that were ready. It was around October 2022 when Aaron last came out to my home to repair the shutters that I had been waiting on for months. When Aaron came over he jokingly said, I hope today were able to finally finish your home. I agreed!!! However it was not, I still have damaged shutters in the bathroom, some shutters were measured out incorrectly: theres still some noticeable damages on the shutters, they never put putty on the inside of all the frames so if youre outside you can see raw color wood as the attention to detail & QC before producing custom shutters failed miserably. After Aaron left my house he said he would come back when the replacement shutters were complete. Were now in May 2023 & i still havent gotten my replacement shutters, still havent got my damaged shutters repaired, no communication & no update since November 2022 where Michelle writes "They have not been able to schedule anything because they do not have any technicians at the moment", that they "have been looking to hire office staff". Michelle also stated they never knew I needed service even though I have texts between me & Brandon, emails & Aaron's documentation. I even received a response to my initial email following up with pics & shutters right after Aaron left that said "Thank you, Will contact you soon with an appointment." I have read so many reviews outlining Brandons shady practices. Apparently this guy took over a very respected business and managed to sink the entire ship and bring down all the customers tied to his business. As of today No response. No call backs. This is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. My order was suppose to be completed in 6-8 weeks. It has been over 3 months and still not done. They offered me a $150 discount as an apology. Still no order completed. I had to have an attorney write them a letter to credit my account back my $700 deposit. Brandon - you know I have been an excellent customer with a lot of understanding and patience but it has been a year now that I am still waiting for your company to come and repair the damaged shutters you installed. You came to my home in the Fall (after I waited months with bugging Michelle daily) and you promised me that you would have my shutters corrected by December. We are now in Feb 2023 and I call your office daily with no response. I have also sent over 10 emails with no response. Please contact me and I will then remove this yelp review. We had a great experience with Maggie's Shutters. We needed shutters for the bedroom and kitchen and Maggie's provided great service, customer service, and quick installation. We initially had another company come out to the house and they were pushy and tried to upsell us in a really rude way. We then decided to go with Maggie's Shutters. Brandon came out and he was very polite and not pushy in trying to sell us anything. The prices were very competitive. As far as installation the guys came out and installed them in less than 1 hour. UPDATE: After waiting 10 months for Maggie's to do anything for us to help facilitate the replacement of the dead battery in our motorized blind... other than continually tell us the company who makes our blind motor is out of business... I took it apart myself today, found the company on the motor, called the company myself and in minutes they had me in contact with the rep who can replace our blind motor. In other words, Brandon and Michelle have been lying to us this entire time. The company was never out of business. Maggie's has shown an absolute appalling lack of customer service, delivering only lies and outright deception. We have reported them to the BBB (Maggie's never responded to the complaint) and suggest anyone else being mistreated by this company to do the same. Don't ever do business here. read more

I ordered these blinds thru a referral of many friends. I ordered in January 2022. Brandon told me I would have by mid February. Never heard from them until I called in March and was told they were still in production. They installed late April. Many issue and received damaged blinds. I have been calling a month because the repairs for the damages were unacceptable and was also told they would replace a panel due to defects. After 3 failed reschedules they come and all they did was put unmatched putty. Have left so many messages and Brandon will not return my calls. They have an excellent product, their wooden shutters, but unreliable customer service. The scheduler calls and schedules an appointment. You stay home and wait for hours but no-one shows up. There is a complete disconnect between their scheduler and the worker who actually goes on location. Something happened to this business in the last year or so. Maggie's Shutters has installed shutters for us in the past and we were happy with their service and quality of the product. We needed an additional 8 shutters, so we called them again. Their representative, Brandon, arrived a few days later. He was very professional and understood our needs. He gave us a fair estimate and we agreed to having the new shutters installed. A few days later, I received a call to set up our appointment about a month later. On the installation date, Aaron and his partner arrived wearing masks. They explained the process and we did a walk thru to confirm the installation locations. They immediately went to work and did a great job. They worked quickly and cleaned up after they were done. We hired Maggie's Shutters to purchase and install high end shutters throughout a lot of our home. A couple of the the shutters got damaged about 6 months ago and we reached out to Maggie's to inquire about repairing them, especially considering Maggie's have stated they guarantee their work. We contacted Maggie's this past January explaining the situation and were told they would setup a time for a repair tech to come out and repair the damaged shutters. After their initial response they never followed up with the visit and have stopped responding to our emails and voice mails. Maggie's had ghosted our phone number and have completely wrote us off. They do not stand for their work nor do they guarantee what they promise their customers. We are extremely disappointed in this this company and wish we would have gone with any other shutters or blinds company. The main reason I ever give companies my business is due to their service and trustworthiness. I strongly advise people to stay away from this company as there are numerous reputable companies out there that offer the same products but actually stand behind their word and have honor. Update #3 Well all, I spoke with Dominique. Of course I called them. Not once, except for tonight , has anyone in this company ever called me. First , let me say I was able to call my credit card company and canceled the deposit, so I am no longer worried about my money. What I am upset about is the lack of communication throughout this whole ordeal and the " tough sh@@ " attitude Brandon seems to have. Customer service is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT !!! I will say that Dominique said "she was going to get Brandon to call " and 2 or 3 days later, he called. He took no responsibility for ANYTHING. He told me that I canceled my order so they couldn't put it into production. Wait ! Didn't Dominique say I was next in line for delivery??? The front desk staff has been lying to us about being in production and that someone would call back with a delivery date for MONTHS!! We received bad quality product. Brandon came to take the defective shutters with a promise to come back, fix, and replace them within a few days. That was Feb 4! It is now Aug 22. No one returns our calls. Brandon is a coward lying to everyone and not answering calls. We have been defrauded! My husband drove to their location today and THEY ARE GONE! How do you take people's money with no intention of giving them product? We are all screwed. This is the second time we used them because we loved our shutters they installed for the downstairs and I really enjoyed Brandon. The second time around the quality was horrible and Brandon was very combative. If he would have been honest about the situation and not taken my shutters to "replace," I'd at least still have defective shutters on my windows. I am experiencing the same problems as others. Brandon took an order for shutter refinishing and shades to be installed - in 2020. He took the shutters and brought them back several weeks later and had them re-installed. After looking closely, it does not seem as if they were refinished. Some of the slats are cracked. The pins in some of the slats are falling out. The hardware to keep them locked in place does not fit and they do not line up to close firmly. He and his office have been non-responsive. The shades have been a new kind of nightmare, from the very start, from 2020, to the present. I ordered a very expensive set of shades for my family room and kitchen nook. I paid a deposit and waited months and months and months. Brandon finally contacted me after I had called every single day, nonstop - leaving messages at his office and on his cell phone. He told me that the shades I chose were no longer available and had me pick out new shades from a different company. Again, I waited several more months, calling both his office and his cell. FINALLY, the shades arrived and he made an appointment to install them. He brought them out and told me he had added motorization to them, as a courtesy for all the delay. While programming the two remotes, he dropped one, breaking it and making it useless. He promised to order another remote. He never came through. My remaining remote is now failing, the shades are sagging and there is no remedy. Brandon and his company are not responding AT ALL. All calls and messages go unreturned. I have tried, but have not been able to find another shade company that will service the shades he put in. The manufacturer will not service them without an order number (which Brandon would have). I paid him $11,700 in total. I am beyond angry and frustrated!! read more

Made an appointment to get a quote and measurements for one large and wide custom window and they showed up on time. Quoted price was competitive and lower than shutters I bought in the past from another company. Made an appointment for installation and the shutters were ready when quoted. They call you a few days before install just to confirm the appointment. Requested 45 minute notice before arrival and they actually called. They arrived and were courteous and installed the shutters in 12 minutes. The quality of materials and workmanship is excellent. I will use them again and recommend them to my friends and family. read more
