I love their crab ragoons, egg rolls and mei fun. Not many restaurants serve Mei Fun so I was excited to see it on their menu as an option. They are on Door Dash and delivered fresh and hot every time. Definitely worth the price and try. read more

No table service here even though they have a good sized dining area, you order and ay at the counter, get your own drinks and they bring the food to you. I ordered the Mongolian Empire, beef, chicken, and shrimp Mongolian style, it comes with fried rice and an egg roll and is a large serving. Unfortunately, half of it is onions I like onions and expect quite a few in this type of dish but it has more than double what I get in similar dishes elsewhere. Order was messed up so one automatically deducted. Not a good start, eh? Ordered the chicken teriyaki sticks but I got a chicken teriyaki meal. I was wondering why my order was a bit high. The food was hot but I got more rice than anything... Barely got any meat with my entree... This is my first time here and I'm already kinda not wanting to ever go back. I am so disappointed as this was recommended to me while I was on this side of town. The food at least tasted good enough. The food court Chinese food tastes better in the galleria. Very little taste between orange chicken and general tsoa's, Mongolian beef had no spring onions just onion in a thick sweet sauce no spice, so gross, kung pao chicken vegetable diversity was lacking, hot and sour soup which is usually pretty good was awful. I had the sesame chicken with egg roll. Got to say I was pretty impressed. Service was very friendly and fast . Clean environment

Just dropped in to get food to go. It is hidden in a little corner in the plaza next to Wal-Mart. A phone store is located directly to the left of it. It was very clean and open, and people were enjoying themselves there. I liked how they had the menu in the window before you come in, huge menus on the wall heading to the counter, then another menu at the counter. The woman at the counter was a little quiet, so for me being hard of hearing, it was kind of hard to understand her. But she took my order quickly, and the food was made quickly. I was told a 10 minute wait, and it came out in 5. I grabbed a fortune cookie from the container by the counter and that was good, unfortunately the fortune cookie they put in my bag was very stale. Food is between ok and great. Fried rice needs more flavor and to be mixed together better. Orange chicken was great, with the exception of some overcooked pieces. Crab Rangoon was very rich. It was a little too much for me, and it was different. It tasted like a cross between crab and cheese. It was good though! I have tried both the crab Rangoon and the cheese Rangoon at other places, so it was very interesting. Overall, it was a nice quick stop for someone craving Chinese but has been on the road for a few hours, and needed a break. read more

Searching for a new Chinese restaurant in the alabaster/ Calera area (since Hunan 2 lost its' authentic touch), we tried Magic wok. Sorely disappointed. Although the portions were good and the restaurant was clean and neat, the food was overtly bland. Their "signature dish" of Mongolian beef was very Tough, and way over sweet. The moo goo gai pan dish my wife had was extremely bland. The eggrolls and rice that came with the meals were subpar, barely warm and the rice very clumpy. Service was distant, impersonal. No character at all. Order by number, take your money, bring food. Dare not to speak or be pleasant. Tasted more like microwave Chinese. read more

This place has really gone downhill. I used to eat lunch there on a weekly basis (I work at a non-food related business close by). I don't know if the place is under new management or something, all I know is that it's a hollow shell of what it once was. The Hot and Sour soup is no longer spicy and the teriyaki chicken is nothing like it used to be (it hardly tastes like teriyaki chicken anymore). In a town without too much to choose from (and often practically stuck if you don't want to sit in traffic heading up to Alabaster), Magic Wok is a nice change of pace. The menu options and prices are typical of a Chinese restaurant with generous portions. I wouldn't say it's the best Chinese food I've ever had, but it's good. Their egg rolls are great! We regularly get Sesame Chicken. Again, nothing to write home about but good for a change of pace from the local fast food, Mexican, and sports grille eateries. The staff is always nice. Food is prepared quickly. Clean environment. We would eat here much more if they delivered! read more

This wasn't as good as it use to be when it was Yoe Wok. In they deliver but I think just save your money. My order was $15 plus tip and I will have to tell you the frozen meals for 2 was a better quality. I think the only place worse is Panda Express in Alabaster. read more

Stayed in Calera for 8 days visiting family. Pretty much tried everything in the vacinity and I would eat here again, unlike several of the other options. This place isn't bad, typical Chinese wok-type restaurant. Rice is a little different - we're used to getting steamed white rice. I've come to the conclusion that food is just different down here, and that's ok because everybody seems to enjoy it. read more

Good service. Was able to call in my order. Asked about the lunch specials and was told that it's the regular with just $1 off. I got the shrimp and chicken fried rice. It was plentiful. The serve their to-go order in regular takeout containers. They don't use the cartons anymore. They don't have a menu online which makes is difficult to place an order over the phone. They also staple you bag shut when you pick it up. Making it difficult to check your order. read more
