Both of my children developed special relationships with the staff. My daughter, currently 21 months old, has developed an extremely close bond with Aulona. Aulona is wonderful with communicating with me throughout the day and I know my daughter is in good hands with her. Jasmine is my daughter's teacher and she is terrific at maintaining a routine and communicating with me if there is an issue or concern. My older son, now in 3K, grew very close to Stephanie in the 2 year old classroom. They developed a close bond and always looked forward to seeing her. As an infant, he grew close to Ms Arifa in the infant classroom. The hours are fantastic and Stephanie is extremely reliable in ensuring the building is open and ready for children at 7am. There have been minor issues in the past with communication; however, the staff caring for my daughter currently are very caring and she loves going to school every day.

I have to say that my son loves the school, teachers, and his classmates so far which is saying a lot because hated his previous daycare (I'll do a review on it in the near future). It's clean, not too many students, diverse, and well structured as far as I can tell. It's also pretty hand to find, you won't be able to see it from the street, which I like for safety reasons. The director is helpful and reasonable. She also does after school care for the pre-k to 8th grade students from the neighboring catholic school and will even pick them up personally and walk them back to her facility which is pretty cool. Students from her school gets a spot for that pre-k program offered at the catholic school. As far as education, I'll have to see. My kid is already pretty far ahead but when I talked to him after picking him up Monday, he told me all the things that he did so, so far so good. Will give another update in the future.

I also love that she knows every child by name across both locations, which says so much about the care she puts in. They offer so many specials soccer, dance, Spanish, and include the parents in special events. It's a really wonderful community. Even though we didn't get a spot for pre-K, Ms. Julia still offered us an aftercare spot and went out of her way to help find accommodations to get our daughter there from her new school. She also saved us a spot for summer camp next year, which we're so grateful for -- it means our daughter will still get extra time with her friends from the past two years. We paid the registration fee months ago because their facility was slated to be open SPRING 2022 and because the infant program was brand new and not yet open, there was no waitlist for our then 4mo baby. Now let's get into all the bad and deception - We were told by so many people before paying the fee that they were due to open "soon" aka in early spring. Fine with us so we paid. We were then told they're missing paperwork from the city for their opening but we can still expect a later spring opening date. Ok, fine again. We are now a few days shy of July and they have NO updates as to when they're going to open. They also never once updated us on the delay on their own. I always had to reach out myself. The good thing is we got our money back after months of lies. But what is money when compared to the urgency of enrolling one's child into a care center? There waitlists everywhere and I trusted them to enroll my daughter by spring. After months of endless waiting, we are back to square 1 with NO daycare option for our baby because now the waitlists are even longer for other places. If we would've known better, we would've just signed our daughter up for another daycare center months ago and join their actual waitlists with the expectation that yes, were on a waitlist and we now need to find our baby temporary care before enrollment. Another issue - SAFETY. Now, I can't guarantee this is going to be the case once they actually open, but I saw RECALLED FISHERPRICE ROCKERS that were the products of infant deaths in their center and recorded them too when I did my tour. I told their staff but not sure if they did anything with it. That should've honestly been my first red flag, but I was trusting them to listen to my concern and rid the facility of the rockers and I was suckered in by their no waitlist BS. Let's hope those rockers were actually thrown out.

Julia has always been attentive and is quick to respond. Communication through text and email has been excellent. All his teachers are wonderful to him and my son has made many friends which has helped with his social skills as well. Overall this center is wonderful and more importantly, it has been a great and positive experience for my son. We thank you for taking good care of our son. In regards to the application process, spots are not guaranteed since Baby Steps offer the courtesy to wait for the attending students to confirm when they are officially leaving. I have at some point told baby steps about leaving (moved to LI) and then changed my mind which Julia was nice to let me stay though she had applicants patiently waiting. Please be understanding of the process because keep in mind the same courtesy will be extended to you and when it does, you will be appreciative. I was fortunate enough to have my son attend as soon as he was two because the business just had opened not too long before but I can now imagine it would be more difficult since baby steps has built up a strong reputation. I wish the future parents luck and if lucky enough to get your child in the school, I guarantee, you and your child will be very happy.

They class size is SMALL which is excellent. Here's a break down: Overall I think my daughter received a good education overall. K-1st grade teachers were both amazing. Kept parents informed. Great pair 2-3rd: average. I must say the 4-6 grade teacher Mrs Carson is absolutely amazing. She sets very high standards for the students and makes herself accessible to the parents. There are a few CRITICAL issues with this school: 1) trapped in the stone age! No useful web page, No web portal for parents, no ability to email teachers. Absolutely NOTHING on line. Also payments made only by check ( no MC/Visa) 2) The FRENCH teacher is 100% useless. Absolutely the worse French program. After 6 yrs my daughter speaks no more than 3 word in French. 3) music program is poor. This year they did seem to hire a new teacher.

My son is two years old and has been attending ABC Kiddieland for 2 months so far. At first I was a…read morebit hesitant because the area for 2 & 3 year olds is a small area. However, they've taken good care of my son. Ms Wilma is truly awesome with him. He has trouble chewing his food and she takes time to help cut his food so he can chew. It's also great that the school provides a catered lunch and snacks for the children. Another good thing about this day care is that he doesn't need to be toilet trained (unlike Rainbow Christian Preschool) so he could start right away. They do help encourage children to use the toilet too. I can only say great things about Ms Wilma and Lynda (school manager). Ms Lynda is on top of things and looks out for the kids best interest. My son goes here part-time and he has transitioned very well, his grandpa will usually drop him off and pick him up. In the morning they have breakfast around 8am, after that is playtime in the playground behind the school, working time (where I think they work on their motor skills), practice abc's or counting, at 11am they have lunch then nap from 11.30-1pm. Ms Wilma's background is having 20 years from a Montessori school in Manhattan which closed down. So she has great temperament working with children. I'm very glad my son is going here and I feel like he is with people who love him. Sometimes Ms. Wilma will send home a note letting us know about my son's day. It's a great joy to read and helps to give me insight on how he is developing. To make this place a five star would be to have more space for the toddlers and to let them wake up naturally if we pick them up early. Since my son is on a part-time schedule, there have been times where he may be sleeping when we go to pick him up and we would rather him wake up on his own instead of waking him up. Otherwise, we are so blessed that he is in great care. One tip I'd recommend is if you have to meet w/ the manager, then try around 12.30pm when there is downtime at the school since the kids might be sleeping.
