We all really enjoyed waking up to such a breathtaking view. We took the paddle boats out for a spin, sneaking up on turtles perched on logs. The only downside, for us, was the number of cats and dogs that have free range around camp. We had brought our dogs for the weekend and were uncertain about how to keep our critters from going bananas trying to introduce themselves to the resident critters. We will certainly visit again, but we might leave our 4 legged friends at home.

This is the nicest park with great amenities, great management and wonderful campers! Now, we all know that there will be a bad apple in every bunch and we all know that changes are made every year. It's those changes that seem to rile people up. If you come with goodness in your heart and abide by the rules, usually you will not have a problem. This is not a party life RV park, this is a family oriented park. The owner is friendly and easy to get along with if you treat him and his land right. I've been twice now and never stay long enough. Peacefully on the river and in the woods. Night time is quiet as you aren't close to roads. This is one of the most primitive sites I've found. I'll always return here for a peaceful vacation with mother nature even if it's for a night.

We rode the boat around and down to Washington then stopped by here on our return to the launch to drive home. It was getting to the end of the day with the air cooling down and the sun setting. This spot combined with the Blount's Creek that lets out through here made for a wonderfully peaceful and quiet setting. The docks were clean. There's a gas pump with extending hose line so you can fill your boat at the dock. Inside there's an expansive store with shirts, food, snacks, boat and camping supplies. Even tube, kayak and SUP rentals. But I would be remiss not to mention the funny and friendly staff serving up ice cream. It's not 31 flavors but I think most anyone can find something they like out of the 6 or so they have. Looking for a chill out to wrap up a day on the water? This is the place.

**RV SITE REVIEW** A…read morecouple weeks back me and my dad camped for one night at Goose Creek State Park, and we stayed at RV site #20. This RV site was fantastic. All of the sites were flat (which is what you want), and offered plenty of privacy (The sites were very spacious from one another). All RV sites consist of 30 and 50 amp hookups, as well as a connection to fresh water, and a sewage pipe. The bath house was new and clean. It was modern on the inside, offered hot water (even in 20 degrees), and was well taken care of. The camp host does a great job at taking care of this site. I would highly recommend that you stay/visit Goose Creek when you can. It is a great hidden spot that offers a wide array of trails and activities.

The campground doesn't have a lot of other amenities. Fishing can be excellent. Kayaks, sailboats, jon boats, flats boats all can be docked at the campground. Oriental is a short drive. Tent and pull behind camper sits available. Trailer Campers available for rent. This is a very nice option and reasonably priced. I make a point of visit any time I can get away.

We tent camped at White Oak River Campground this past weekend. The places has its pros and cons…read morebut for me the cons outweighed the pros so we won't be going back. Cons first so I can end on a good note: CONS - The campground is REALLY close to the highway and an overpass. You will hear the cars all night long if you are tent camping. All.Night.Long. We didn't sleep very well; I would say not at all but we doze off a few times. (5 people in our group, 1 person said they slept ok. That same person drank more than anyone else - pack a pint of Beam and you may sleep too!). - There are 1, maybe two full time campers with what appears to be full time residents. They PARTIED hard, loud music until 3-4 am. Totally unacceptable for the campground manager to allow this, and to be a part of it. Yep, he partied with them; we think he lives right behind the office in a camper too. PROS - Now for the good stuff: - There's a wonderful stream/river that runs along the campground; we got a spot on the turn which we really liked. - There are several lakes that are awesome! I taught my wife to cast a fly and there are no/few trees around so she was able to not get snagged up and she really enjoyed it. My daughter lost a nice bass in the lake nearest the camping area. We saw 4 other nice bass caught on worms. Bait can be bought south of the campground a mile or so on the left. - It is pet friendly; we bought our dogs and enjoyed walking the grounds with them. - Bathrooms are pretty clean and have showers. If you are looking for a quiet spot to chill and sleep well, this may not be the best choice. They'll never be able to fix the road noise, but if they can get the mgmt under control and address the noise at night it would be a 4 star place.
