So, I requested an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), and my husband agreed. By referral, we met with Dr. Peter Aldea regarding the procedure. He thoroughly explained the process, and we were happy to proceed with the surgery. My results were excellent; my stomach was flat as a washboard and lasted for many, many years; however, with life, medical procedures, weight gain, and loss, my body began to change. In March 2024, twenty-one years later, I revisited Dr. Aldea for a Lipo 360 BBL procedure consultation. He thoroughly listened to my body concerns, examined my body, and described the process. He was very particular about telling me what was best for my body instead of me telling him what I wanted. I love Dr. Aldea's frankness, the integrity of his work, and his perfectionist attitude that he would not perform a procedure that is not best for your body type. We (my husband & I) decided to proceed with the procedure. In April 2024, Dr. Aldea performed a Precision Lipo 360 BBL on me. During this procedure, he removed fat from my stomach, upper pubic area, underarms, and back and completed abdominal etching; then, he injected some of the fat into my buttocks. He did a magnificent job on my body. At four weeks post-operation, I am incredibly impressed with my new body, the healing of my body, and the care Dr. Aldea and his team provided me per surgery, during, and post-surgery. My husband and I felt that was quite a lot of money for a simple brace, but we trusted Magnolia Orthopedic and its owner (physician/surgeon Dr. Randall P. Frazier) that they would supply me with a cost-effective brace at non-usury prices. Therefore, with the brace as yet sight unseen, I signed the purchase approval letter, feeling that if Magnolia Orthopedic is charging $475 for this device, then it must be worth it. But then I actually saw the Accord II brace, and found it to be a simple, cheap cloth and plastic appliance, clearly not worth $47.50, much less the $475.00 the clinic was charging!! (I have complained about this price gouging to Magnolia Orthopedic, but to no avail). So, my complaint about the business is this: As soon as we got home, my husband looked up the TRUE retail price for this EXACT same model and make of ankle brace, and found that it could be purchased for as low as $15.98 -- almost 30 TIMES LESS than Magnolia Orthopedic charged me!! I feel that taking advantage of a trusting patient, who was in excruciating pain at the time and simply wanted to feel better, and then -- in my opinion -- price gouging that vulnerable patient to such a ridiculous degree, is so unprofessional to the point of me feeling absolutely victimized and completely defrauded. PS: Blue Cross Insurance, rightly, refused to cover this device, knowing full well the true cost of the Accord II leg brace. Choosing a surgeon is such a personal and emotional process, and I did a lot of homework before deciding. I had several friends and acquaintances who had procedures done by Dr. Eby, all with different transformations and beautiful results. Still, I knew everyone's body and goals are different, so I wanted to make sure she was the right fit for me. Before meeting Dr. Eby, I had consultations with two other surgeons, but it only took one visit with her for me to know. Dr. Eby was incredibly easy to talk to, knowledgeable, honest, and confident without ever being pushy. I had already researched her background and schooling beforehand, which gave me confidence going in, but meeting her in person sealed it for me. She spoke from experience and professionalism without overselling anything. Instead, she took the time to explain what was realistically achievable for my body while still listening closely to what I wanted. That honesty created trust and realistic expectations instead of false promises. For context, I had breast augmentation 20 years ago and was very large -- what Dr. Eby described as a "G." I also had a significant amount of natural breast tissue due to childhood development and weight fluctuations.
