I was especially impressed by the number of distilleries showcasing products that aren't yet available at the LCBO, making the tasting experience feel unique and giving visitors the chance to discover something new. While there were plenty of standout offerings, my favourite has to be the Honey Gin Fizz from Willibald Farm Distillery & Brewery. It's refreshing, well-balanced, and hope it will arrive at a bottleshop in the GTA sometime soon. It would definitely be my go-to summer drink! Food was also available for purchase, and the tacos were the perfect complement to an afternoon of tastings. There was ample seating, with plenty of picnic tables, making it easy to relax and enjoy the food without feeling crowded. Overall, this was a well-organized event and a wonderful celebration of Ontario's craft beverage scene. I'll definitely be back to explore more of what Geary Avenue has to offer, and I look forward to attending Holy Waters again next year.

Upon our arrival we were led to the beautiful and bright Awards room, housing the endless awards won by Magnotta for wine and spirits at events all over the continent and beyond. Michael asked questions to narrow down our likes and dislikes, the preliminary to our wine tasting. More about that later :) Our first stop was an information-filled walk-through of the machinery area where the wines are produced and bottled. From there we continued into the basement's Barrel Room where hundreds and hundreds of barrels of wine are stored. Old winemaking machinery added perfectly to the decor, creating an almost museum-like element. The decor all throughout the winery is old-world Italian style which created an authentic, peaceful mood from one space to the next. Once the tour was over, we were invited back into the Awards Room for the fun part... the wine tasting portion of the tour. It was then that each of us was given our personally curated flights consisting of 3 wines to try, each specific to our indicated preferences. We also opted for the complementing charcuterie board and focaccia bread (at a low additional cost) that truly brought out some of the more complex flavors of the wines being sampled. I would recommend this winery and wine tour for anyone who wants to fine tune their wine preferences and flavor profiles. We were never rushed, all questions were answered, and we left far more educated about the world of wine than we ever could have expected! We even tried one if their Vidal Ice Wines - oh my - how absolutely delicious! The staff are all friendly and can direct you to some great wines if you ask. They do not sell at the LCBO so the prices are about 40% cheaper than if they did. They have a great variety, including some beers (they have a brewery on deck). The winery grounds are beautiful, there's an amazing patio wrapped around the building with stunning views of the winery. You truly feel like you're in wine country or even in the Italian countryside when you're here. We wanted to do a tasting and we were told to go find a seat outside and someone would be assisting us. We noticed that there was a separate area for people who pre-reserved lunch. I think it's a pre-set menu and it's catered by the McEwan company. The food coming out looked really tasty! We asked if they had a food menu as we were looking for a charcuterie board or something to snack on while tasting the wine, however they do not have a food menu unless you reserve in advance. Although this was a bit of a bummer, the server told us she would bring us some snacks for the wine tasting. As the lunch seating was taking place, the servers were quite busy however our server apologized for the wait and was really nice. We each had the 4 wine tasting flights and were able to choose 4 wines from their extensive list. I tried their sparkling wine, rose, a red and a white and they were pleasant but not the most amazing wines I've ever had. On a beautiful breezy summer day, it was absolute heaven sitting out on the patio and sampling some tasty wines. I would love to come for a meal one day however they only serve lunch at this time. We even had the owner come over and chat with us for a while to make sure we were enjoying our time. The wines in the retail portion of the winery are super reasonable, I don't think any wines were over $20. This is a nice way to support local business without breaking the bank. Overall this is a wonderful way to spend an hour or so. The flight of wine was only $10 and the wines are also inexpensive to purchase so this makes for an affordable afternoon out. I loved the views and European feel of the winery; it truly made me feel like I was far away without having to step on a plane!

Not really classy because they are all in a 16 litres plastic self dispensers... :) but I am not complaining!! Great if you have a huge party and you want to just let your guests drink as much as they enjoy.. then those 16 litres definitely the way to go! I ended up with a Barrel Aged Pinot Noir Reserve for $9.85.. good for everyday drinking... Staffs are so friendly... and I will be back to try out more of their wines when I am in the area...

I'm not a wine expert but they seem to have their fair share of awards and recognition for their efforts. For those who drink a large amount they sell it by the bucket (yes they're 16L huge buckets) which are vacuum sealed so they keep fresh.They also have a huge variety of bottles and boxes for everyone else. If you're not sure what type of wine you're in the mood for they have them all on display for you to sample. If you're a business they can custom print you a label with your logo on your choice of wines to give to your customers/associates/suppliers/etc. Makes a great present.

This was one of my favourite DIY experiences ever. My wine-making process was fast, fun, and best…read moreof all, easy. The entire process starts online where you pick your wine and select your yeast pouring appointment. This involves going into the store for literally a minute to pour that yeast into your product. Next, I simply waited about a month before I was able to come in and bottle my wine. This process was my favourite part. When you come in for your bottling appointment, they have your bottles all sterilized and you proceed to the bottling station. The first step is to fill your bottle with wine. Next, you move to the corking station (fully automated) where you place it in the machine and it corks the bottle in a second. You then want to add the decorative cap on the mouth of the bottle (you can select from a variety of colours) and you seal it by blow-drying it. Afterwards, you would apply the sticker label of your choice to your bottle. And voila! You have your 30 bottles of wine ready to take home. I think what stood out most about this place is how easy the entire process was and how insightful and courteous the staff here was. It was an enjoyable experience and I highly recommend others to try!

Cozy mead tasting on a rainy afternoon…read more Atmosphere: There was a small bar/farm store you enter at the front with some picnic tables outside. As it had rained all afternoon, we opted to sit at the bar for the mead tasting, which was cozy and seated 4 at the bar and another 2 at a smaller round table close to the entrance. The store had a variety of honey and beeswax products, mead, and even cheesecakes that were frozen. Experience: This was our first mead tasting and we were provided recommendations to try from their menu. We circled the choices we wanted to try and then they were quickly poured and carefully labelled and numbered for us to identify. The variety was quite good, with some tasting more fruity and others with a stronger honey taste. Service: The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, and were good at communicating with each other (as one was taking over for another and had to ensure people were paid up). Lovely mead tasting and would revisit for the live music performances on Sundays!

And the staff also explained how the bees work/Queen's tasks, and so on. We had a chance to touch the bees with our hands, but I was a bit scared to touch them. The staff also showed us the Queen Bee that they marked a sign Bright Blue on the back. We moved to another house for the mead process. This was the first time that I known of honey wine. It's almost the same as the wine produced process, just this time was coming from Honey. Before we stepped out, there is a gift shop that we could purchase some honey products.
