The whole area is pretty wide open but spread out in a way that you can park-it, as an adult, and still keep an eye on the kiddos where ever they may be at the park. There are three covered picnic areas, some uncovered picnic tables under shaded trees, and plenty of benches to accommodate a wave of folks trying to enjoy what few sunny days we have here in the O-H to the I-O. As far as the play area, there is plenty of area for the kids to play including: two splash areas (one smaller, I think, for the smaller kiddos), two larger jungle gym/slides/climbing/etc areas, a swings area, and a music play area. All in all a great place to play outside throughout the year and even better during the summer months.

For a small town, and an older park was quite impressed on how clean it was and the emmenties that were provided with each shelter. I'm not sure on if all the shelters were the same; but Shelter 4, had enough picnic benches to accomate small or large parties. The shelter itself; was amazing two working fridges, a sink, bathroom and even a counter space area. The shutter wood latch and enclosure of the actual shelter stood out the most for me. The picnic was a wonderful event; and even the area local news stoper by to hilight, Ann Curtin..Happy 100th Birthday...relaxing, celebration happy to have attended and been invited. We all need positive, uplifting, motivational stories ; especially with the current state of our world.
