Store was listed to be open til 10pm. Pulled in at 930pm and was closed. Disappointed that I added a stop to my taxi for this run.

If the store owner is in a "mood" as referred to by his employees, just shop elsewhere. He doesn't want your money. Prices aren't great there but I would pay higher prices to be treated like a human. His employee was embarrassed by him and even apologized. read more

I went There for a bottle of barefoot pinot noir, they charged me $34 which I initially thought was weird but I dismissed it and purchased it anyway. However, once I got home I saw the actual price tag was $15.99, they uncharged me almost double the original amount. I will not recommend this place to anyone, do NOT SHOP HERE unless you enjoy feeling taken advantage of. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

I am writing to report, that while the service is good and selection so so, that the prices being charged are definitely higher than what other liquor stores are charging. I recently moved right up the road from this place, so I wanted to get familiar with it. Long story short: Never use this place, ever. It is INSANELY over-priced, and the owners do not give a damn about you. I needed to do a simple and CHEAP return, and these guys told me tough sh**. I told them they lost the business of someone new to the area, and they laughed. Stick to Ramsey Liquors, which is only minutes away and has an amazing selection and decent humans working there. read more

Rude discourteous service. This place exudes an atmosphere of "Its a privilege to be allowed to shop here and we really don't need your business."I've been patronizing this place for years because it's close and conveniently located. I figured hey anyone can have a bad day but I've finally had enough. At best you get the feeling they are tolerating you and it doesn't take much to elicit sarcasm or disapproval. Very convenient, very overpriced. Beer selection not great, but a large variety of wines and spirits. Some wine is reasonably priced, but for the most part not. Where I disagree with the other reviews is the staff. I have been here dozens of times, and that staff is ALWAYS friendly, prompt, and courteous. read more

I had a purchase of $37 and accidentally handed the the guy behind of the counter 3 $20s and he noticed and gave me change as if I only gave him $40. He was clearly planning on pocketing the cash. Thank goodness I noticed my mistake. Not to mentioned he was beyond rude from the second I walked in the door. I will NEVER return to this place for this reason, the fact it's beyond over priced and every experience I've had here has been UNCOMFORTABLE! No new reviews for this place? Its in a good mini mall in Mahwah, and parking is never a problem. The selection is pretty good for a local place, and the prices are pretty decent, "eight dollars for a six pack of guinness is good to me." Although bottle king on the highway "17" is better, this place is good for a quick stop, but I would go to bottle king if I planned on buying a ton of stuff. read more

Since attending Ramapo college at first this store was very convenient. However I came across the store owner who is a total jerk and makes his customers feel unwelcome. This store has little selection with premium price tags. I love helping smaller business but I recommend going to bottle king instead, better prices and selection. avoid this store at all costs. read more

I've been shopping for wine and liquor at Mahwah Liquors for years, and I think the store is terrific. The staff is helpful, the wine selection is broad and their prices are in line with other liquor stores. I've bought Scotch there on several occasions, and I think the prior reviewer may have been comparing the price of 12-yr-old Lagavulin at another store to 16 or 21-yr-old Lagavulin at Mahwah Liquors, because I've never found the prices to be out of line... read more

They seemed to have a decent selection, and were conveniently located. However, I have NEVER met such a rude group of people. I'm not a wine drinker, and had a question. When I went over to ask, I overheard them talking extremely rudely about a previous customer. Then, when I asked the difference between two wines, you would think i was pulling teeth. I got a rude look, was practically laughed at, and in the end, wasn't given a straight answer. I would have kept asking more, but felt like i was bothering them by doing so. Thats not how that should happen. Why would you ever be rude to a customer? I'm steering clear from now on. read more

Weve been going here ever since we moved to the area and on a couple occasions the owners we totally rude. We were loyal customers and didn't mind paying a few extra bucks to support "the local guys". They had their 3 strikes and were rude for no reason, we'll be taking our business down the street. read more
