Did not clean the microwave. Only dusted the tops of furniture not handles or cabinet fronts. Did not pick up things to dust under them. Used dirty mop and left streaks on every floor service. Requested a quote and scheduled an initial deep cleaning with this company. I had expected, being a new customer, that someone would show up to assess the work to be done. This did not happen. My appointment was assigned, not selected. I work nights and this was far from convenient having to let someone in at 10am. The housekeeper that arrived was punctual and did ask what I wanted cleaned. I explained that it was primarily the kitchen and bathroom work areas as well as sweeping/vacuuming the hard to reach floor spots. The total time worked with one cleaner was as I had expected, two hours start to finish. The work done was adequate to my satisfaction. As no assessment had been performed there was no modification from my original quote of $214. I had a simple text afterwards to the ask if the cleaning was acceptable, to which I said yes. I should start by saying that after reading all the wonderful reviews, it really saddens me not to be able to give a WONDERFUL rating/review to a locally owned, female run business but I have to be honest... As a first time customer of ANY in home cleaning service, I was not sure what to expect or even what to ask for so it should be stated that I could have been more clear with my expectations and instruction from the start - I think that would have significantly helped with *some* of the dissatisfaction. I reached out to 2 different cleaning services via Yelp messenger after reading the reviews and comparing pricing, cleaning details, etc. Tabitha responded to me first and immediately checked her schedule for availability. I certainly appreciate how quickly she responded as I was in need of help in such a hurry - I know it can be difficult to schedule things as people need them when as a business owner, someone is asking for a service very last minute. I received a response from the other company and they did not have any availability at that time so going with Maid to Clean was my best and only option given how quickly I needed the service. I asked Tabitha what a deep cleaning entailed and was told "A deep clean just means that your home hasn't had a really good cleaning in more than 30 days, more dust, more scum, grease etc..." Now, I'm not a housekeeper, I learned how to clean from my Mom but where I come from, when someone says they are deep cleaning in my mind, I am thinking, "Okay dusting ceiling fans, wiping down walls, baseboards, serious dusting, mopping, etc." Again, perhaps as a first time customer I should have asked more questions and asked for more clarification but I did not. I had scheduled a deep cleaning for Saturday morning - as my Mom was coming in town Saturday afternoon and between work and other obligations I was going to have little to no time to clean. I was thrilled when the employee* (opting not use her name) reached out to me via text and said she was actually available Friday afternoon instead of Saturday morning if I wanted her to get started earlier. Though I was working remotely from home, I was very impressed that she reached out and tried to get things rolling quickly. She arrived about 45 minutes after that initial text exchange and was ready to rock. Side note, she was extremely polite and respectful. She made me feel very comfortable having her in my house, which is something many people may not think about when you are there while your house is being cleaned. Now, by no fault of hers, she had a bit of a mishap with her car trunk and could not get her cleaning supplies out of the trunk (not a huge deal, it happens.) She offered me options on retrieving supplies from another employee, coming back the following day or using my cleaning products (if I was okay with that.) I opted to let her use my cleaning products because that's what they are for right? Not a big deal at all. I am mentioning these little side happenings because I think it's important that those reading this review realize that I wasn't unhappy with the entire experience, just certain aspects overall. She was at my house for just over 2 hours (maybe 2 hours and 15 minutes.) Not really what I would have expected for a deep cleaning but I figured, "They're the professionals so I am sure they know what they are doing from a time perspective." I should also note, that there were certain things that seemed to be part of the checklist that I did not require or request her to do because I A) had already completed them the night before or B) I was planning on making changes or adjustments to certain areas. I did not require a load of laundry to be ran or a change of the bed clothes as I was going to be changing the comforter/sheets overall for design reasons (and I hadn't bought the items I was changing yet.) In addition, on Thursday night I had swept and dusted my entire living room as I was still trying to determine if I wanted to hire a cleaning company or not. So there was very little work that needed to be done in the living room other than mopping. As you can see from the pictures below, the results were less than pleasing. I paid well above $100 to have a deep cleaning and she had to come back a second time and even then certain things were not done that should just be common sense to cleaning people...at least in my opinion. The second time she came back she was only here for about 30 to 45 minutes and things were still not fully clean. It was just really disappointing. I could have cleaned my own house the way it was cleaned, which defeats the entire purpose of having someone come and clean it for me... I felt awkward at having to report my disappointment the first time and even worse about it the second time. I hope this review helps potential customers as well as the business owner. My wife and I bought a new home in another Kentucky city and needed someone to clean our Louisville home after we moved. I asked and received many estimates on Yelp and decided to use Maid to Clean. I cannot be more happy that we made this choice. We asked for a certain date and Maid to Clean agreed they were on time and cheerful to be there. Now let me be honest our place was dirty and cleaning came after movers and after painters were finished but they took the challenge and the cleaning it looks fabulous! Maid to Clean worked patiently making sure every part of our place was sparkling. Our bathrooms look amazing how they got them so clean. They did the kitchen all over the cabinets, oven, refrigerator and counter tops all so great looking. Bedrooms and closets all spotless! Windows and doors and the ceiling fans much much cleaner than they were when we lived there! We have dark wood flooring and even when clean they can appear not but the gleam on that floor is so nice tonight we were afraid to walk on it ...it looks that good. Communication is paramount for me and Maid to Clean is professional and provided a detailed plan and kept us abreast the whole way. We loved this personal aspect of Maid to Clean. The price quoted was the price we paid. We got the best end of this deal for sure. Hiring someone like this is fraught with wondering... did I do the right thing. I can say without hesitation that this is the best Yelp business find I have ever had and I am 5 years Elite. I use Yelp exclusively for searches and requests. My HIGHEST recommendation! I needed my house cleaned as it had gotten pretty bad over the last year. I did a search for good local cleaners and Maid 2 Clean came up highly recommended. Reached out, got a price and a date/time scheduled very quickly! The two ladies who came out asked what I needed done, they did exactly as I requested and did a walk through when they were done. My house looks better than it has in a long time! Especially with the downstairs carpet, they got rid of all the cat hair.
