I love going to this park. It has a new updated playground for all to enjoy, and it is just so convenient for me.

It's summertime and once again, Wilmington has our professional soccer team back. They made a good…read morecall by having the games at 7:30 or 8:00 pm. This allows the sun to set and makes for a great evening in the bleachers. You can tell that the staff are really working on making this a good experience for people who come to the games. The staff are friendly, the bathrooms are clean, and the line for food and beverages moves quickly. I was pleased to see that they started using disposable cups made from corn- that's a nice change. If you get those coupons in the mail, you can often get $2 off a ticket, bringing the price down to $8 for an adult ticket. It's just a nice way to spend a summer evening, and it doesn't hurt that the team is playing very well this season.

During the last two games, we've noticed an excessive amount of very loud music from the press box playing a very long time while play is underway making it difficult for the team members to communicate & we can't hear whistles or anything. In the past there were music blasts for the dancers to entertain, but now that there are no more dancers, we can't understand why the music keeps playing. We love hearing the Hammerheads support group across the field drumming & singing. Can't hear them if loud music is always playing. It lessens the effect of the game. I wonder if the score would have ended up 2-2 had our players been able to communicate over the loud music. The team is playing pretty well so far, but some of the music needs to go. Go Hammerheads!

I couldn't find this business on yelp so I had to add it. Played for the first time last night and…read moreto be frank, it needs some work. This place is functional as an indoor soccer field, and Janine (the owner and operator) has created an athletic environment for adults and children which is great. The field/play. I won't say much about the carpet since it will be replaced, but you CANNOT wear anything with studs. So no out door cleats for sure; recommend futsol shoes if you can. Christmas will come with gifts of new turf. It will not have the rubber under it, but it will definitely be a HUGE step up. I believe once this happens, I will consider upping this review to 4 stars. The field has this "arc" that is approximately 10' from the goal which is different than anything I have ever played. Actually, that is why I am dropping a star. The rule does not allow ANYONE to go into the arc (similar to hand ball). The goalie cannot come outside of the arc unless one foot is in or jumps out; this is just UN-NATURAL! I have been playing for 27 years and I cost us two penalty kicks because I was in the arc when I was trying to stop the ball. I think it is just over thinking injuries and trying to be too protective of the keeper. However, if a defender was allowed to actually put the goal to his back, he can protect the goalie more...I just want everyone to know, it is very different and I don't like it. Moreover, one sideline has a wall (12' highish) and the side closest to the stands has a net...I have never played in a place where the net is INBOUNDS?!?!? I know it is expensive, but I would recommend plexiglass. The ball is a sudo nerf ball...When I asked Janine why, she said that it is easier on the goalies since they get hit so much (THIS IS BECAUSE DEFENDERS CANNOT BE IN THE WAY OF THE SHOT DUE TO THE ARC or the goalie cannot come out!!!). Lastly, people do not wear shin guards, although you can if you want. Leagues: Seems there are three divisions and I believe she said there are 28 teams this season? 10 games and each team costs $400. Skill levels vary, but the games are 5v5, so most people run a 1-2-1 or a 2-2 formation. Subs are on the fly and D3 didn't have to much aggressiveness (I saw 3 games). Our game was at 830pm, but I believe D3 plays on Wednesdays from 730-1030 pm. D1 is Mon...D2 Tues... The facility can host birthday parties and has a large stands area for the size of the warehouse...I guess people have been playing pick up at this location for 10 years or so and it use to be a lot smaller. They also have after school kids activities. I read the flyer and was pretty impressed with their commitment to kids. Recommendations: 1-Change the turf...2-get rid of the ARC and let us play normal indoor soccer....2-put plexiglass up...4-see if we can add another field...5-play with a real soccer ball.

As the parent of a spirited 10 year old boy I can't say enough great things about "Off the Wall"…read more My son has been attending the after school program and summer camp for the last 2 years and even asked to have his birthday there. The management and staff are truly amazing and Mrs. Janine runs a tight ship to ensure the children are in a safe yet fun environment. It's a great place for children to release all of their energy after school or during the summer months. As for the birthday party option, the staff is amazing! We had a full house with lots of different activities for the kids to choose and the best part was NO CLEAN UP as the staff handles everything for you!

The area has been clearcut of trees and vegetation and drained. Most of the space is paved over and developed. No habitat for wildlife remains. Due to a lack of greenspace and sidewalks throughout the entire county, yearning for a breath of fresh air, I attempted to walk my dog at the Ogden Sports Complex last Sunday. She is a rescued beagle with a fear of loud noises, likely an abandoned hunting dog. There were several speeding vehicles roaring down the highway in the park and one of them backfired loudly scaring her horribly. She jolted in fear and nearly jerked her leash out of my hand. Terrified, she pulled me toward my car to escape the loud noise of the speeding vehicles. So much for a peaceful walk and breath of fresh air! Bad form, New Hanover County. You call this a park? Like all the other "parks" in the county this is nothing more than an example of overdevelopment and poor planning. I am sure those in the development and construction industries appreciated the giveaway of public land and tax dollars!
