I use Mail Boxes a great deal. Efficient, businesslike and friendly. Can't recommend too highly.

Think of the local Post Office if you can do it without grimacing - never less than about 30 people queuing, using up your whole lunch hour to get served, then finally when you get to the front they try and sell you Post Office insurance or broadband when all you want to do is get out. Don't even think about asking for sellotape or else risk the wrath of hell! Now imagine Mail Boxes, etc. about 30 seconds further down the road from the Chiswick Post Office. I went in there a couple of days ago to send something I'd sold on eBay. Not only did they actually look happy, something the Post Office hasn't managed in all the years I've been in there, but they also helped me box-up a difficult item and happily offered me parcel tape and a marker pen - all done with a smile, without queuing at all and at the equivalent price of the Post Office. I really wish I'd discovered them years ago and shall be using their other branches in other places I visit in London. Thanks Mailboxes. I phoned this firm to collect a rare atlas from Chiswick Auctions. The first problem was getting them to understand what an atlas was, and then what a book was. They said they would collect it in two days. A week later I had heard nothing. I phoned, and they said they would collect the same day which they did. Four days later the book arrived, very lightly packed in a thin layer of bubblewrap and placed in a box far larger than the book. No extra packing had been put in the box so the book had been rattling around in the box. This firms is supposed to be a professional art packer. I have seen Christmas presents packed by five years olds which would have been more secure. Best avoided. read more
