Boy do I love a good antique store, but what I love even more are antique and vintage items that are reasonably priced, and Main Street Antiques perfectly fits those bylines! This is a huge store- several rooms that go back from the front and an upstairs. You could spend some serious time looking through all the knick knacks and treasures in here. As a sports fan, I was extra impressed with the collection here as there was a lot more sports memorabilia then I've seen at the average antique shop. If you're a Celtics fan you'd probably go crazy here (unfortunately I'm not but there was a ridiculous a pint of Celtics items). I was just visiting the area, or else I probably would have snatched up quite a few things. But the issue was there was no easy way to transport them back whole flying in an airplane. Unfortunately, I can't give 5 stars because there was a weird interaction with one of the workers where I believe she was being racist/ profiling my friend while we were waiting in line to pay and it really soured the end of our experience. read more

Service, selections, and value are all five star. Everyone's so nice and helpful, fun place to spend hours looking and shopping.

Store made sure to have their Nazi memorabilia and racist caricatures right at the front. Awful selection, mostly overpriced junk.

Horrible prices, way over priced items for things that should be $10 max. Service there was okay, but when they bargained it was a rip off. And the sections smelled so heavily of perfume it hurt my head. I don't recommend going there if you want nice antiques for cheap. ​​ read more

Wow! What a fun place and nostalgic place to visit. This was my wife and I's first trip to Ellijay but it won't be the last. This was the first of many antique stores we stopped in. Could have stayed for hours. So many things to bring back my childhood days. You have to visit this place if you go to Ellijay. read more

Although this antique store certainly has its share of reproductions, man-cave and she-shed decorations, it's the best option for collectibles and antique memorabilia in town hands down in my opinion - if you're in search of crafts and potpourri you won't have to look very far this town's streets are lined with them - sooooo disappointing but I guess it pays the rent. This was my first stop after arriving in town and I found it to be pretty impressive and I'd recommend this place to be your first stop if you're pressed for time. I found they have a decent selection of quality merchandise and the prices in my opinion were just okay I thought a few of the items I was interested in were valued quite a bit above retail considering their condition and rarity using eBay as a reference and a few other websites listing current collectible values that have proven to be quite accurate on items I sell from time to time as I upgrade my collections. We weren't greeted at all when we arrived which is odd since two employees were behind the glass at the entrance and there weren't many other shoppers inside. At one point, an employee (or possibly a vendor) was moving merchandise near the stairs and she almost knocked into my boyfriend with her large items and didn't say a word - not a "pardon me" or anything. There's plenty of other antique shops to spend your money in... I'd pass on this one. read more

This place has pretty much everything. Prices are decent and some are negotiable. They have a upstairs that also has antiques but the majority of the items are down stairs. The employees were super nice and welcoming... expect to stay at least an hour plus more to look at the items they have. read more

Went in this quaint little antique shop and found some wonderful trinkets. The owners were friendly and nice to talk to. The prices were very reasonable, especially compared to some other places were visited in the area. I highly recommend visiting this shop, you won't be disappointed. read more

ALL THAT GLITTERS... There is absolutely no shortage of antique stores in downtown Ellijay and I was really surprised. This particular store was very large and consisted of two levels. It was set up like a mini mall with an an eclectic mix of items. Browsing through such a big space when you are looking for something very specific can be exhausting. It also doesn't help that the owners of the individual stalls are not available because they obviously have a better idea of their own inventory than the shop owner. I would also want the individual owner present if I wanted to know the history of a particular piece or wanted to negotiate a price. Also, the last time I was interested in an item in one of these malls, it was not labeled so my only option was to wait until they located the owner and call back later in the week. Really? No thanks, I am shopping now and everything has to be ready to sale. For me the standout pieces will always be the furniture and truly nostalgic pieces like the old Coka Cola machine or antique styled gas pump. Remember though, just because it is in this store does not mean that it is a genuine antique. Several items in this store are simply items no longer needed or wanted and there were quite a few antique replicas. This is where the individual seller comes into importance because only they can tell you the significance of a specific piece. ***Case in point: I was looking for Civil War Collectibles and they had some framed items but I don't know if they are authentic and how would the average second party know their value? If I remember correctly, the spent shells were $3 a piece but at the Confederate Museum they are free. Hmmm? Every single item in that museum came with a history lesson and if I had a question about anything, it was immediately answered to my satisfaction. So where do you think I am likely to purchase my collectibles or replicas? If you are simply looking for home decor items, fine but if you are looking for something of greater significance think carefully about what you are purchasing and know he true value. Great antique shop in the center of town. Pleasantly surprised at their selection. Had some really nice vintage and 90s baseball and football cards.
