Their boat lost all power and they were forced to paddle to safety. Hopefully. A call was made to the Coast Guard, THANK GOD FOR CELL PHONES!!, and low and behold The Buffalo Fire Department met them and closed off the Seneca Street Bridge. An inflatable was sent to tow them to safety. What else can I say? My daughter is safe. Thank you, BFD!

Swing Buffalo hosts events at Uki Hall quite frequently and we love it. The hall is reasonably price for rentals. The staff is so friendly and pleasant to work with. The bar area is comfortable. And the front room has additional tables as well as a pool table. Plus the bathrooms are consistently clean. The back hall is a fantastic space. Great floor for dancing. It's got a stage. The lighting is nice. You have tables or not. It has a separate entrance if needed. So it's great for pretty much any kind of event you'd want a hall for. Of course, I haven't even mentioned the food yet. You do need to make sure you eat some of Pani H.'s food. We're talking some of the best pierogis in Buffalo. My favorite thing is this beer, sauerkraut, bean salad that is so good. Uki Hall is a private club so you do need a member sponsor to go. But give them a call. They love sponsoring people. And you couldn't be supporting a nicer venue with nicer people.

Working for Marine Midland Bank /HSBC for many years made my visit a bit nostalgic. It's…read moreabsolutely amazing what has been done with this building. It was turned from what at the time a contemporary 70's office building to now a multi use space. The old bank branch is now a beautiful bar. Not any bar but the bar from Bada Bing in the Sopranos! In the open space is a pool table, ping pong table, a Nintendo game station, and comfortable seating. This is surrounded by art work, one piece made from the old bank vault, a giant gondola, live birds, and a miniature train track in the lobby. Quite a change from the old break rooms and cafeteria! These areas are open to the public, not just employees or residents of the building. Oh yes, the building now has apartments. There's also a nice gym, beer garden, restaurant, bike rentals, and outdoor gardens. The list goes on and they're still building and expanding. The only thing I saw remenent of the old days was the auditorium which is still the old velvety blue and orange. I think they should leave it that way. The new color makes it really stand out and since it's already the tallest building in downtown Buffalo it looks even nicer. Pretty impressive remodel and use of space. I know they give tours but my visit was just us wandering around ourselves so I'm sure I didn't see all the work. Maybe I'll come back for an official tour. 2021-135

Visited the town hall to pay my school taxes at the Town Clerk's office. This is a quaint old…read morebuilding that houses town offices such as the Town Supervisor, Town Clerk, Assessors Office, etc. Next time you attend something at Island Park or the Williamsville Library, take a look The outside is more historic looking than the inside which is just plain vanilla hallways and mostly closed office doors. With a building front that has such grandeur with massive steps and pillars, the inside is a bit of a disappointment. But if all you care about is to take care of town business, the interior meets the bill.

This review is for anyone coming here to get their COVID vaccine…read more It's is very organized and structured here! Which I love! Police have blocked off a section for us to park. Attendants will guide you. You will enter the building and immediately get your temp checked and answer a couple standard COVID questions. Next, you'll approach an area to check in with your name. They will send you over to the next section where they'll confirm your information and give you info about the vaccine you're receiving. Now, you'll go to another section to get your vaccine. One nurse will be at a laptop and ask you a couple of questions, while another nurse administers the vaccine. They'll give it to you in the less dominant arm. I'm right handed so they gave it to me in the left arm. The feeling for me was similar to a flu shot where its sort of like a punch to the arm and some lingering pain afterwards which is just more annoying than anything. Lastly, you'll be sent to a waiting area to wait 15 mins. There is a digital clock on the wall. Social distancing was kept the whole time. Great job!
