That being said a lot of things are made up quite beautifully for weddings. Most good wedding decorators can make a Waffle House look pretty if given enough time and money to do such a thing. So I give a lot of credit to them and not so much the building at The Madison. I've seen thousands of weddings and this place doesn't wow you like some places. There is just too much wood going on here for my tastes. Hardwood floors and wood paneling! The prices are very reasonable here though so that is an important factor when shopping around for a reception hall.

The place is constructed of exclusively wood, exposed brick & old sheet metal. It had an immediate charm about it for sure and overall would be a great place for an event. We parked in the large lot on the same plot as the building. My first reaction to the place was how cool and aesthetically pleasing it is - especially for the little neighborhood it's in:/ They've got a relatively large, healthy lawn in the back with the the little bulb lights that everybody likes. There was also a stage out back but it wasn't being used when I was there. From the parking lot you take a few steps up to the floor level of the wrap around porch. As you actually enter the building you enter into the smaller of the two main chambers. There will be a bar to your immediate right and the larger, stage room to our left. Naturally there was a band playing in the larger, banquet style room. As mentioned it had a stage on the far end and also a bar with plenty of open space for seating/dancing/tom-foolery. On a quick side note, the bar had a quite expansive and modestly priced assortment of your typical offerings. I will say the bartender I had knew nothing about the local beer much less helpful wine and spirit suggestions - he was friendly though :) Another quick side note, the caterer, The Habana Club, was EXCELLENT and offered extremely delicious and authentic Cuban fare. DEFINTELY check them up if you're in the area and into that sort of thing. TL;DR Definitely worth using for a private party or trying to get into the next local event they're hosting. At two different functions I attended recently, the music provided was handled exclusively by Gumbo. The harmonies selected were a nouveau hybrid of old school soul, current pop music, and a few tried-and-true classics. Gladys Knight may have made a cameo, too. At both events (one party, one wedding), the dance floor was filled with lively souls, slow dancing to melodic ballads, or gyrating to faster rhythms. Even those sitting at tables couldn't help but tap their feet to the strains of the music. Like a traditional gumbo, these DJs take various compositions and make a phonic feast for the spirit. They also provide Emcee services as well. If you are in need of good music for an event, I would highly suggest having Gumbo satiate the tastes of your guests.

He just asked us what kind of music we were into and told us that we could send him a list of songs that we do want to have played, and he would take care of the rest. The only thing I wasn't THAT happy with was that he played "Love and Marriage" from Married with Children when we first down at reception. I like the show a lot but it just threw me off guard. So not only is Corey awesome at DJing, but he also did a great job helping out our photographers in coordinating pictures. He would be on the mic telling people to get together in one section, for example. And he did a great job announcing when the different events started, etc. Overall, we loved Corey and he has such great energy and always puts a smile on your face.

With that in mind, we are gathered here today to write this review. The Truss Room is named after the large trussed roof. At least that is what I guessed based on the name and the view of the roof. It is one large room that had the venue/reception area on one side and the bar/food area on the other. The wedding had around 150 guests (I am guessing). There was ample food and drinks for everyone. As an officiant, the acoustics were great but I am a loud dude so if you are a whisperer, get you a microphone. The food was very good and people seemed happy. The wine was also good and people seemed to enjoy it. PS. I wonder if Yelp will allow me to add Reverand to my name.

I love that they still maintain the area for the crawfish festival, baseball games, as well as family gatherings! There was a birthday party when I was there recently! Most importantly the park was very clean and safe! There's lots of parking, and the Super 1 Grocery store, as well as Family Dollar, and a couple of other niche stores for your needs. I believe a great addition would be an outdoor gym. They've kept up the area for the kids, but a nice outdoor gym for the parents and older folks would be great! The walking.jogging route is awesome, but there's room for something else that allows people to diversift their workout. We know Breaux Bridge doesn't have many gym options or places that feel safe enough to really get a good workout outside.
