Bartenders were excellent. Ambience was friendly and beautiful. Drinks are pricey but I'll be back

I experienced the most disgusting and disturbing time on April 16, 2023, as I catered a Bridal…read moreShower at this place, well at John Nickerson House which is owned by the same people. Originally the event was suppose to be held here but it was changed by the management team due to maintenance. Assistant Beth Maitland embodied the most disrespectful, undermining, distasteful, unprofessional, unpleasant, and harassing behavior. She stayed the whole time at the event and expressed these nasty behaviors. I have never experienced this event before. I will never recommend anyone to book here or work an event connected to this establishment. I and all of the guests did not feel welcome. Everyone was uncomfortable and had horrible stories to say about Beth's behavior. I strongly believe it was due to discrimination. I have proof of everything I am stating. An example; As I was preparing dishes, Beth grabbed a piece of bacon out of a wrapped pan without my permission. The sense of empowerment and entitlement allowed her to perform in these ways. I am a professional first who owns a catering company. This is not how you conduct busines.. This is beyond sad and disgusting.

I booked a little weekend NYE getaway from New Orleans for my boyfriend and I. In googling "things…read moreto do in Lafayette," the murder mystery dinner at Esprit de Coeur showed up. I tried to book tickets but found that the website said "sales ended." It may be a long shot, but I gave them a call to see if I could get tickets. By this point, it was 4pm the day before the show. Daisy answered the phone and told me there were still a few seats and actually opened the sales so I could purchase tickets. That was impressive to me. We got there early and were welcomed warmly by costumed employees. The actors were already in character. The bartender went above and beyond to keep us happy, even recommending a place within walking distance where we could continue the evening after the show. The decor was very nice. We didn't figure out whodunnit (the team who did got cool prizes) but really had a great evening and would definitely recommend the facility and the murder mystery to anyone looking for a fun evening.

Great spot for downtown adventuring…read more -Parking is a little strange. The lot is small and you'll miss the entrance if you don't know where you're going. -There's a little pub or bar right next door but they kept the roar to a minimum. -Service was ok. -There's a common area upstairs where snacks will randomly appear. -The rooms have big ol bathtubs but not big ol water pressure or heating to keep up with the hotel demand. We went Valentine's Day weekend during a freeze and were looking forward to hot showers or a soak to shake off the cold, but so was everyone else at the hotel. -You can tell the hotel is is a bit...outdated and that the owners have tried to make improvements. -Rooms are definitely not spotless but also not disgusting. -The bed slept ok. Now for the tasty bits: Our tv was in when we checked into the room, which we thought was a little weird but not massively unusual. We figured the housekeeper was catching up on The Bold and the Beautiful. We were wrong. The housekeeping staff laid a carefully constructed trap by leaving the TV on LIfetime. You see, we had every intention of getting out and taking in what downtown Lafayette had to offer. Instead, we got sucked into the vortex of trash television and the convenience of drinking beer from your bed. A shameful portion of our weekend was spent guzzling hazy IPAs from Parish and ridiculing life choices made by the actors on Marrying Millions. My husband and I had a blast! We just really wished there had been enough hot water for everyone.

When I arrived, THEY TURNED ME AWAY. The owner wouldn't accept an ADA service animal or even a bribe/pet-fee. Driven from my home by a disaster, my stay pre-paid, and with the entire south booked: hotel Juliet turned me away. If after this review you book at this treacherous hotel: you deserve what you get!
