They recommended that I send it to the $1200 (starting) company that dressed up in space suits in a dust free room to take the drive apart. I passed. Instead, I searched the internet and found Jeremy Andrew who turned out to be the Tony Hawk of computers. He had found and resaved my data within three days. He told me that the defective HD had an internal spinner (like a hamster wheel!) and recommended an upgraded HD that I now use (with all the recovered files). I'm glad that I didn't give up and am grateful that Andrew exists. He's the best. So, be sure to double, triple back-up your data and call Andrew if ever any computer issues arise.

The manager (Derek) gave me a bunch of stories and even lied to me saying that he saw them (the technician) unbox my computer ... but that wasn't true the technician unboxed the computer in the store with me present and I took the box home. I was hoping they could save me time. In the end it cost me more time and money. The manager did offer a 'compromise' for me to pay for the parts (~$400). Ultimately I ordered the part they broke (which cost me $47 not even close to his price) and fixed it myself. I won't be giving them any more business.

We are very angry former Best Buy customers! We bought a Yamaha keyboard on April…read more26, 2026, which was damaged in shipment. We expected Best Buy to honor their purchase contract with us. We believed Best Buy was a reputable company that would replace the damaged keyboard, but unfortunately, that is not what we experienced. We hope you will be able to address the following issues. The Best Buy store policy is that it does not replace a keyboard damaged in shipment, but to only refund the purchase price in a gift card. We were instructed to simply use the gift card to rebuy the keyboard. However, when we reordered the keyboard on May 3, 2026, the price had increased by $30, just 1 day after we received the damaged product. We were told by Best Buy's "Experience Supervisor" that the increase in cost was our problem because the keyboard was bought from a 3rd party seller and Best Buy does not control those prices. We disagree. Best Buy accepted our payment for the product. We purchased it from Best Buy's own website. It is irrelevant where Best Buy obtained the item it sold to us! Therefore, the damaged keyboard should be replaced at the original price. This is an outrageous business practice! We have been unable to speak with a manager. The manager seems to always be unavailable in person. There is no point in speaking with the store's ineffective "Experience Supervisor." She is inconsiderate and ineffective. The manager is unavailable by phone. The phone is answered by AI and is unable to direct the call to a manager. An "agent" eventually answered, but was unhelpful. We emailed letters to the manager and to two company executives, but there have been no responses. We are very disappointed in our experience with Best Buy and have begun warning others to beware of making any purchase from Best Buy!
