I was so impressed by her skills that I booked her for a private makeup lesson as well. Her perfectionism is what makes her such an amazing makeup artist. For the shoot, Tina arrived a little before our appointment time to set up and discuss what kind of look I was going for. As someone who doesn't wear makeup, I had no idea, but I showed Tina some pictures and she was able to recreate the look I was going for - a sign of a true professional! During the whole experience, I felt like I was with an old friend. Her personality is very easy going and she will make sure you are happy with your makeup. Before the schedule trial, through email, she already asked for what kind of hair style I liked. As you can tell, they are very professional. They came with big chairs and mirrors and ready to go ! They like to get to know their clients and make them feel comfortable. When you book them, you should feel at ease because they will make you beautiful on your special day. On the wedding day, it was really early(6AM) they were on time and setup everything. They worked on my mom's makeup and hair, then myself. I loved how my mom didn't complain at all about anything haha ! She loved her makeup and especially loved her hair ! She got many comments that day on how beautiful she looked. My hair and makeup took the longest(2 hours) it showed how professional they were because every detail was important to make the bride look beautiful. I loved it !! Tina was amazing! I contacted her the night before a last minute prom invitation and she got back to me immediately. She was very easy to communicate with before hand. She arrived at my home with more makeup than I could even imagine, lights, and a big chair for me to sit in. I don't wear makeup on a day to day basis and have sensitive acne prone skin but Tina made me feel like I could put my whole trust in her to make me look (and feel) awesome but still feel like me, not a mask. Tina accommodated my VERY last minute make-up session request. She responded so quickly and set me up with one of her senior artists - Melanie. Melanie showed up right on time and asked me what I wanted. I showed her a few pictures, described the event and my dress and she went to work. After an hour, I was presented with a mirror and I was like WHOA. Dramatic lashes, contouring, mega blingy eyeshadow, neutral lip which is what I wanted because I wanted my eyes to pop. Now the deets: Tina really took my preferences into account and executed them perfectly. I had requested an old Hollywood glamour look, and she was able to create that look on me. She skillfully created a gorgeous smoky eye on my hooded Asian eyelids--not easy! She also graciously responded to all my requests and comments by adjusting the makeup/look. In addition to skills, Tina (and her team) was a just a really sweet and fun person to work with, which is a real bonus because she is totally up in your grills for a couple hours. Melanie and Monica managed to wrangle my long thick Asian hair into the S-curve vision I requested. Tons of pinned ringlets everywhere. It was a challenging one, and they definitely worked their magic until I was satisfied. All of our makeup and hair lasted all day and night, through the heat/sweat/dancing and all that wedding stuff. I was recommended to Tina by one of my friends who raves about her and always uses her when she needs her makeup done for special events. Long overdue review! I found Tina one day when I was looking for someone to do my makeup for my big day. I liked the work she did on some of the other people. I do no wear ANY makeup whatsoever. I was going to go without it but everyone kept telling me I needed the makeup. I schedule my appointment with Tina and she came to my house right on time to give me my trial makeup. It was perfect because my bridal shower was the same day so I could ask my family and friends what they thought. The initial meeting was great! I felt very comfortable with her and I told her the look I was going for. Natural! I didn't want to look different at all. Tina did a great job on the trial and my friends told me that I needed a little more pink and I told Tina so that she could do that for my on the actual day. On the actual day Tina was right on time. I was actually a few minutes late coming back from my tea ceremony. She went right at work on my MOH. My MOH wanted a natural look also. I thought it looked great! Next it was my turn. Tina Tom is amazing! I contacted Tina a few weeks before my wedding because my hair stylist cancelled on me last minute but Tina came through for me in a jiffy! Total life saver! She had Melanie do my hair... And can I just say how incredible Melanie was! I had a hair trial beforehand and Melanie came to my home and made everything so easy and pleasant for me... Which goes a long way for a stressed out frazzled bride. Melanie is the sweetest most genuine girl. She was honest with me, told me which look would work well for me and my headpiece. I showed her inspiration photos and she did a great job using the photos as a general guideline but also taking my vision into consideration. Also, I had two headpieces (cathedral length veil for ceremony and birdcage veil for reception) so Melanie showed my mom and my MOH how to switch the headpieces without messing up my hair. Fast forward to the wedding day and Melanie was early and sweet as ever. Everyone absolutely loved my hair! I get compliments about it all the time! Oh, and before I forget... I had a private makeup lesson for two hours with Tina. It was so fun, I learned a lot! She does one side, explains thoroughly, and then lets me do the other side. She gave me lots of tips, what makeup works for my skin, where to get makeup, the different types of brush, and other useful information. Tina is a magician! She was very patient and sweet as she stood for 6 hours painting 5 bridesmaids and the bride. I had fun joking about my dry skin and uneven face with her and she smiled and made all the problems disappear! She also kindly obliged to our varying comfort levels and gave me a more slightly dramatic eye while giving the other bridesmaids more natural looks as requested. My only complaint: I wish she lived near me and I wish I had more fancy things to go to so that I could get her to do my makeup all the time!
