If you like Thai food I would go, if you ask for no spices you will get a little spice, that's just how they roll. In my opinion you have to have a little heat when ordering Thai or it's just noodle and you can that anywhere. If you don't like a tiny bit of heat you shouldn't order Thai. IMHO. Sushi was good/average, so Jensen beach and surrounding cities are right here on the freaking ocean and you can't find good sushi here, or anywhere in the treasure coast, drives me crazy. Cleveland Ohio has better sushi. Come on guys from fire this out, just a rant no reflection on Maki. Again or the Thai food. read more

Service was very nice, servers where friendly and always had a smile on their face. We ordered Ramen bowl and portion was large. Also catered to spice level you desire. Sushi rolls where not the biggest i have had but they were of average size and price was appropriate for sushi restaurant. Thai Donuts were fresh and hot. Restaurant is small but cozy, not sure I would eat there if it was packed as tables are a bit close together. I will continue to visit this establishment. read more

I have a moral dilemma....... The selfish side of me doesn't want to tell a sole about Maki.... Wanting to keep it to myself... Mine... Mine...Mine. The unselfish side of me - that sharing, compassionate, selfless side wants to share Maki with the entire food loving community. Since you're reading this review- you can guess which side won! Upon walking in we were cheerfully greeted by Minnie (pretty sure the owner). We were quickly seated- served beverages and faced the menu dilemma. Maki has a fabulous menu - I settled on the pork in green chili sauce a dynamic blend of flavors and textures. My wife had beef soup that was equally well prepared. Now - the odd, unusual and surprise ...... The crab Rangoon.... I've had Crab Rangoon in no less than 50 restaurants across the country. A sort of religious quest of mine! The Crab Rangoon at Maki is the Holy Grail of Crab Rangoons - hand made, loaded with fresh crab. This was our first trip to Maki, the first of many to come. Wanted to love this place. Unfortunately it took an hour to get four sushi rolls when the restaurant only had three other groups. We were chatting with two of the other groups, both locals, who mentioned the restaurant is under new management and that they would not be returning given the poor experience. We ended up just asking for ours to go. The rolls were very poorly rolled (nearly every piece fell apart when we went to eat it), and the fish quality was not great. The rolls tasted...fishy. First time throwing out sushi in a long time. We had such high hopes given the good reviews, but one of the worst dining experiences in a while. read more

The presentation was absolutely fabulous. It's always great when food not only looks great but tastes fantastic as well. The green salad was very tasty. The night of the Brightline kickoff we decided to try the new Sushi/Thai that literally faces the tracks in Jensen. It's a tiny footprint indoors with a large, covered outdoor dining area. We got there early and by the time we left all tables were occupied. The word is out, no more hiding this treasure that is both tasty and not out of reach $. Not cheap but not as pricey as other area restaurants with the same offering. You feel like you get a good return on your investment with generous portions. I had the Udon Noodles with shrimp and was struck instantly with the vaguely sweet, ginger tinged sauce that was broth-like instead of glazed and thick. I could not get over how much shrimp was nestled in there, very generous. The veg were cooked perfectly, not soggy, not undercooked, just the right amount of crunch. The flavor of the sauce was the star. Not salty, and that hint of ginger and an almost citrus back note. The Udon noodles were super slim and absorbed the sauce nicely. I had home brewed loose leaf jasmine tea and was fine with that until my husband mentioned trying a sushi roll. Loved the presentation, fresh sliced ginger and moist wasabi. Roll was fresh. Normally sushi or Thai or both would require a gallon of water to wash down due to the salt but I was fine with only my tea. Son LOVED his teriyaki glazed chicken (he said was sweet and tasty) and ate all of his vegetables. That was a small miracle. Husband had the fried rice with shrimp and judged this the best he has ever had. I took a taste and I agreed. The rice seemed delicate not starchy, the flavor of the veg, egg and shrimp shone with that mysterious citrus-like soy sauce that was so tasty, so flavorful and not salty. Husband thought they skipped the normal MSG, starchy base many places use in their fried rice dishes and used a broth of some sort instead. The food alone was worth the trip but the service was exceptional. Sweet server even intuitively knew my son would want Strawberry Ramune when he asked for drink options, that was dining kismet. Right when we were served the Brightline zipped by. Thoughtful service, tasty food, and reasonable pricing, the only negative is the tiny dining space. It's cute but with the word out they may need more room. read more

Had to give it a one as they would not let me give zero stars./ Fish was awful, my tuna sashimi was still frozen. Service made the fish look good as they forgot one one of my rolls, told me two minutes when I reminded them and 25 minutes later I canceled the ask and walked out. They had one sushi chef on duty, but mind you our table of 4 were the only ones in the place. I will NEVER go back. Worst sushi restaurant I have ever been in 40 years of eating Sushi. An excellent option for sushi!! The fish is soooooo fresh and DELICIOUS. The dishes are well made and not overly seasoned. The service is excellent. They really care and it shows. It's an adorable little space. It seems there's a ton of fried restaurant options in the area and this is SUCH a welcome break for healthier eating! If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The waitresses want to chat and giggle, not refill drinks, and good luck receiving your food. My husband got his Sushi boat before we could even get basic rolls for our friend and myself. Just totally dismissive of any help. I would never recommend this place. read more

My husband and I walked by Maki Sushi & Thai at 9pm on a thurs night. Hours say closed at 9pm. The lady inside said come on in!!! We ordered the Volcano Shrimp Tempura Roll, Chicken Fried Rice & Chicken Thai Curry. All of them were absolutely wonderful. Nice presentation and tasted fantastic!!! My husband and I ate here last night due to a great review in the newspaper. The tuna and shrimp in the 3 signature rolls we ordered were so fresh and the rolls were just delicious. We also had the Tom Kai soup and I can't rave about it enough! The sushi chef is the owner and his wife works there as well. The server was attentive, personable and answered all our menu questions. The couple had a restaurant in Key West for five years but the landlord refused to renew their lease so they moved up here to open a new restaurant. please stop in as they have both indoor and outdoor seating and you will not be disappointed. I can't wait to go back next week to try their Thai main course dishes! read more
