We went to Benihana yesterday. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, and the food was delicious. The chef's cooking was excellent, so no complaints there. However, part of the reason you go to Benihana--and pay the higher prices--is for the entertaining hibachi experience. Unfortunately, our chef seemed very rushed, as if he was trying to get to the next table. There wasn't much interaction with the guests, very little conversation, and none of the fun, laughter, or engaging show that usually makes the experience so memorable. The meal itself was good, but the overall experience felt more commercial than personal. I left wishing there had been more of the entertainment and interaction that Benihana is known for. I hope next time the experience matches the quality of the food. read more

We chose Benihana in Stuart to celebrate my son's 32nd birthday with my wife, my son and his fiancée, and my in-laws. With the bill totaling well over $500, I expected an evening that felt special. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a very disappointing experience. I ordered the Deluxe Treat, and for a restaurant known for hibachi dining, it was surprisingly bland. The food was cooked properly, but there was very little flavor and nothing memorable about it. For the prices Benihana charges, I expected much more. The hibachi chef was the biggest letdown. The entertainment is one of the main reasons people choose Benihana, but there was almost none. He seemed determined to get through the meal as quickly as possible, rushing from one step to the next with very little interaction or personality. The entire experience felt like he was trying to turn the table instead of creating an enjoyable evening. I usually throw the chef some extra cash when they put on a great performance, but this time there simply wasn't one to reward. It was completely anticlimactic. The drinks were equally disappointing. At $15 to $16.75 each, I expected a properly made cocktail. Instead, my Jack Daniel's and Coke tasted almost entirely like Coca-Cola, with little to no whiskey flavor. If I'm paying premium prices for a mixed drink, I expect to actually taste the liquor--not wonder if it was even poured. The condition of the restaurant also left a lot to be desired. Even the menus were dirty enough that I felt the need to sanitize my hands after handling them. That's not something any customer should have to think about before ordering dinner. The restaurant itself feels like it's stuck in the 1970s and is overdue for a refresh. Seeing extension cords hanging along the walls looked sloppy and unprofessional, and once again, after an August storm, the front entrance was flooded. This isn't the first time we've experienced that here, which makes it even more disappointing that the problem still hasn't been addressed. What should have been a memorable family celebration instead felt rushed from beginning to end. When you're spending over $500, you're paying for more than just food--you're paying for an experience. Benihana failed to deliver on nearly every level. There are too many better hibachi restaurants in the area that offer more flavorful food, better entertainment, stronger drinks, cleaner surroundings, and a more enjoyable atmosphere. Sadly, this visit confirmed why I'm simply not a Benihana fan, and I don't see myself returning. 2 out of 5 stars. The food was cooked properly and the staff was generally polite, but for the amount we spent, the overall experience fell far short of expectations. Before dinner last night we went to the downstairs bar. The bartender was terrible. She was dumping a bucket of ice and we were patiently waiting. She looks over and with attitude said she'll be over soon. Immediately we felt like we were a burden to her. Then she dropped off drink menus and tried to walk away but we said we're ready to order. Two simple drinks. One bad attitude. We nearly got up and left. We went up for dinner and the air vent at our table was broken and the cook turned on the vents nearby but it didn't do any good. Went there today. The restaurant is filthy. We had to move hibachi stations because orange liquid was dripping from the ceiling onto our plates. It looks like all of the vents above all the tables have washcloths stuck all around them and are dripping everywhere and are disgusting. It dripped on our plates, our menus and on the hot plate where they cook. It looks like they have not put a single Penny into cleaning the restaurant or updating it in 25 years. If it wasn't for my 11-year-old niece needing to have lunch there for her birthday, I would've left. This place needs to do better. read more

I haven't been to Benihana in probably 3 years, it was one of my favorites. This had to of been one of the worst experiences I've had. The cook had no enthusiasm, there wasn't any of the show outside of the flames. He didn't care to be there, my food was horrible it was so sweet it wasn't edible. I never got a refill on water or asked if I wanted another cocktail. The manager was great I apologize I didn't get her name. The view is great, the seat had at the table the smoke was directly in my face and made my eyes water. read more

It's been a long time since I have been to this location. There is plenty of seating and spacious. The hibachi is the one that most go for and what we did too. There was a group of 7 of us and we were seated once everyone in the party arrived. It includes salad and soup. The steak was good along with the veggie sides and loads of rice that they give everyone. There was a scoop of ice cream provided at the end of the course and it was a nice ending to the meal. The service was attentive and wonderful throughout the entire visit. There was no leftovers since I finished it all because it was very good. Also, there is a view of the intercoastal and it's very nice since there's not a lot of places that have the nice view with the hibachi going on. read more

Had dinner here on Christmas and the waitress was almost 1.5 hours even with a reservation so they definitely overbook and don't care about people waiting. Well I will say once we sat down the service was very good (friendly, attentive and professional). The chef put on a great show sl8cing and co9king on the flat top, it is a Japanese oriented ambiance. The food was very good so no complaints from anyone at our table. I definitely recommend you try this place and hopefully their willingness to over book is only on holidays. read more

My family & I have been long time consumers of Benihana's fabulous cuisine! Our last dinner was my 82nd birthday celebration on Tuesday the 9th. My husband, sister, and both of my son's brought me. Although we prefer Dani as our server, she was not on the schedule that night. However, our server, Sydney, and our cook Estella were wonderful and made my birthday celebration most enjoyable! In addition, Dani is still our preference and rates a "Five Star" for me & my family. We've known her a long time, and have never been disappointed in her care for, and/or attention to us! We were there this Sunday.Our Reservations was at Seven o'clock. For a party of six people.....since our birthday girl Of Twelve years Old Today invited two of her closest girlfriends...., to celebrate with us. The Restaurant was busy and noisy as well. The room still has a bit of that theatrical charm, and the staff are doing their best with the hand they've been dealt, but none of that absolves what just happened on the teppan grill. I was just served a piece of filet mignon so aggressively rancid it smelled like a discarded, waterlogged leather boot. Benihana hasn't just fallen off, it's devolved into a glorified culinary crime scene. There is simply no universe where serving rotten meat is acceptable. Consider yourselves warned. read more

I like this the only problem about this place there's no Japanese waiters be careful of that. It's also make sure you look at the tablecloth and the spoons and the napkins and the fourth. They're not always clean but make sure you tell them and they'll clean it overall a fun place to go. read more

I'm usually not a hibachi kinda girl, but I loved my recent dining experience here. The food was great and the service was quick. I asked for extra sauces and they were at my table swiftly. This is a very high energy environment with friendly staff. Be mindful that it does get pretty hot and you will leave smelling like food, but it's worth it. read more

Was in the area and wanted the good taste of Benihana went and ordered the steak entrée, which did not disappoint--cooked perfectly and full of flavor. I also tried the seasonal pumpkin margarita, but it didn't have much of a pumpkin taste, which was a bit disappointing, especially given the $17 price tag. It tasted more like apple than pumpkin. I sat downstairs where they don't cook in front of you like the traditional hibachi experience, but they do make sushi right at the bar, which was still fun to watch. The service was great overall, but next time I might skip the pumpkin margarita. read more

We have been coming to Benihana for years for every kind of occasion. They did an amazing job celebrating my nephews birthday and making the show special for my nephews and nieces. Our server Aaron was excellent at his job and very efficient with all our requests and accommodating our larger party filled with babies and young kids. The chef ephraim was great and modified the show for my niece who is afraid of big fires. Food was delicious per usual! read more

The eating area was comical due to the clear plastic air management and the kitchen rags stuffed into the edges of the vent hoods to prevent condensation from dripping on people dining. The place smelled of burnt oil, there was a dense smog throughout and the food was sub par across the board. The sauces tasted all wrong too. After 2 visits to this Benihana and an equally depressing meal at the Benihana in Boca Raton I have to say we are moving on. I remember a time when Benihana was a real treat and the food was delicious with attractive exterior and interior decor. Used to love Benihana. Like sears, Steak & Ale, and other notable chains from the past, I believe Benihana's days are soon over. For us, we have had our last Hibachi meal at this restaurant chain. I've tried Benihanas all over the United States and none compare to the quality, staff, and environment that this location has. Starting with the drinks, the Blue Ocean, is a delicious. We also ordered the Tiger drink with casamigos, wow was that tasty. Our server, Celina, was great! She made our group feel welcomed and really took care of us. Our chef, Estella cooked some of the best food I've had at Benihanas in my 25 years of coming here. I ordered the Benihana Excellence, the thin cut of tender steak melt covered in teriyaki sauce melted in my mouth. 10/10 you gotta order it! Tonight's experience was great! Chef Estella was truly talented, and you could tell the different flavors of each item. My wife ordered the Hibachi Chicken with white rice and I ordered the cold-water lobster tail, scallops and shrimp with chicken fried rice. The sunset over the St Lucie was incredible and the A/C system has been updated (no ducting). You need to visit and we are glad we had. read more

We spent Valentine's Day at Benihana and sat in the bar area and it was such a great choice! The atmosphere was lively and romantic, even on a busy night. The service was incredibly quick and attentive. Our drinks and food came out fast, and the server was friendly and on top of everything the entire time. We never felt rushed or overlooked. Benihana is a spot to celebrate. Literally, every table there was celebrating a birthday. It's a fun experience if you've never done Hibachi before. We were a group of 13, so we had to split between 2 tables. That wasn't such a big deal. We got served pretty quickly. However, things were messed up, and orders were not taken correctly, maybe because it was so loud. They even started getting annoyed with us when we were trying to correct what was wrong with the order. The drinks were absolutely phenomenal, especially the purple one. But that's where we draw the line. Most of the people at our party got really sick with stomach issues. It was everyone who ate the chicken, unfortunately. We think it was bad. The prices are also quite high, and our bill was astronomical and didn't include tip. We were kind of surprised since typically, they add tip for parties of 8 or more. This is fun if you've never done it before. However, the food is underwhelming and service was just subpar. If you're really in the mood for hibachi or sushi, try a mom and pop local spot! read more

Had reservation for 5:45. Arrived within 15 minute window and were not seated until AFTER 6:30. Many others with reservations for 5:45 were also waiting as long. Manager came out to lobby and was rude and couldn't have cared less. We were told we got there after 15 minute window and were bumped. This was also told to other people waiting. We had proof from our gps that we arrived at 5:52. They overbooked reservations and didn't care. We were there for a child's birthday celebration and it put a real damper on things. After we were seated waitress was prompt to take drink and dinner orders but the chef took a long time to arrive. This place was a huge disappointment and for the money we spent even more-so. We haven't been in years a friend recently told us the one in Stuart is great so we decided to try it again. The parking is horrendous, sort of shaped like a z...you can only go one way down and reverse or k-turn your way back out. We parked by the entrance curbside like others. We opted for the bar rather than the hibachi seating which was very loud. Downstairs is freezing perhaps to keep upstairs as comfortable as possible with the smoke n added heat. They offer a pretty extensive happy hour menu from 3-6 M-Fri with both drinks and appetizers. They are currently running a great special $39 for a 5 course meal. Mushroom soup was a simple but too salty broth, and salad fresh with choice of ginger or yum yum sauces. Pork gyoza and dragon roll for appetizers. The pork gyoza was odd, so much filler it barely tasted or had the consistency of meat, dragon roll was decent. I had the hibachi steak and hubs had the hibachi shrimp. Both entrees came with sautéed onions and zucchini, mine also had mushrooms. A bit under-seasoned, you're relying on the sauces to add any sort of flavor. Shrimp was a nice portion but pretty small and steak was tender. The chicken fried rice I thought was better, barely heated through it also lacked any flavor with overcooked egg and chicken pieces. Scoop of Ice cream finished the meal. Overall it was a great value. read more
