It was a big, complicated project, and the end result is beyond what we could've even imagined. The quality of their work is the kind you notice every day when you live in the finished space. Two people deserve specific mention: Eric and Dmitry. Their communication throughout the project was consistent, clear, and steady. Whenever something needed a decision, clarification, or adjustment, they were on it quickly and never left us guessing. That level of communication made a long renovation feel manageable, and we feel so lucky to have had them leading up the project. As with any major remodel, the project wasn't inexpensive, and the timeline went long, but both were in line with what you'd expect for the level of detail and finish we wanted. In the end, the workmanship really does justify the cost and the time! Issues and changes came up, as they always do in older homes, but they were handled professionally and without pushback. We have a special membrane roof deck on our home - a widow's walk - that was in desperate need of…read morehelp. We found evidence of water leaks all over the ceiling inside our home, and the most likely culprit was this deck. There are not too many places that work on residential membrane roof/decks. We had another company come out - they did a complete tear out of not only the roof, but the plywood sheathing, portions of the siding and other roofing around this deck. When they had put it all back together, with what they said was the correct membrane material, I was in tears. The membrane was installed wrong side up, with the printed codes and stamps showing. The material used was slicker than snot - one good rain and I would have slipped off the roof. The flashing around the edge had all been re-used, with cuts and holes all over the place, so there was not a good edge for water to run to the gutter. And the deck railing was re-installed all wacky - off kilter. Sam came over - and literally found over 20 things wrong with what the prior "professionals" had left on my roof. Sam's team pulled the incorrect materials off, secured and sanded the subflooring properly, making sure the correct slope was present to allow water to flow off the roof, instead of pooling above the living room, and used the right membrane!!! Also, the deck railings were properly footed (so water did not penetrate around the deck struts), and they were square! I love my widow's walk deck now - able to enjoy it now, with no worries of water coming into the home, or running behind the siding. No worries about the membrane being thin, getting holes, or slipping on it. No more squeaks and creaks, and no more puddles! Thank you, Sam!!!!!!

We first worked with them for a kitchen remodel in 2023 and are still blown away by the work they were able to do for us! We removed an old wall and created a kitchen island to open up our space, set up a custom coffee bar, and fully ripped out all old finishings/etc! They were able to match the old arches of our 1927 to bring the character into our modern kitchen that we love about our house. They were extremely communicative about any changes, challenges, or delays. We even went on a long vacation during the project and we felt completely at ease knowing they were progressing on the kitchen while we were away. We recently brought Sadie, Medardo, and Gerardo back in for some plumbing, drywall, and electrical upgrades that became a bit of an upstairs project. Project: Small Bathroom Remodel Overall, I recommend BelRed especially if you are looking for fair, affordable pricing (they don't charge for materials and can even help you find discounts through their contractor discounts) and because the quality of their remodel seems great. Chen and his crew are friendly, respectful and try to tidy after the project. The overall communication process was a bit frustrating however and I sort of felt like I had to project management part of it (which honestly for the price and quality is worth it). Here are a few instances: 1. We aligned on what I needed to purchase on my end (materials and items such as floor, tiles, bathtub, mirror) and where everything would be located in the bathroom. Once they started installing things such as a light fixture that would go above the mirror and sink, I noticed it wasn't center to the sink so I pointed out that I'd like it to be center to the sink and the eventual mirror. This convo led to my discovery that the light fixture had to be slightly off center because of a pipe that was behind the wall so it was impossible to make it perfectly center. That's totally okay!! What it revealed was that they wouldn't be able to put in the mirror cabinet because of that pipe. I wish they notified me earlier rather than me having to ask questions to discover this new information. The cabinet I ordered (and we agreed on at the beginning that I wanted a mirror cabinet in that location) needed to be returned but it was a "no refund" item. Fortunately, everything worked out in the end, I was able to find a new non-cabinet mirror but I just really wished it was communicated to me as soon as they realized (like after tearing down the old wall to replace it with new drywall because that's when they saw the pipe) vs me asking Qs and finding out later. I also expressed this sentiment directly to them. 2. We aligned on which paint I wanted the wall to be painted. They finished painting the wall and after looking at it I was sure it wasn't correct. The paint I chose and told them to use was a cream color while the walls looked very white. They told me they used the paint I sent them in an image I sent via text. To triple check I painted a small spot on the wall with the correct can and color (same as the picture I sent in the text) just to see if it was the same paint, but it wasn't. They came back to paint the correct paint no problem the next day though. 3. There were several instances when I was told the crew would by dropping by but did not and I followed up via text to be told it would be another day. That's totally fine! I'd just like to know since I work for home and I shift around meetings to be available if I know for sure they are there and have questions for me or will be loud because of the renovation.
