For those unaware of the KIPP Charter school system,your child enters through a lottery system to get in to allow a fair chance to any and all students who would like to attend. Promesa serves K-4 students but there are KIPP middle schools. Promesa's 4 core values are grounded in love, integrity, grit & responsibility. The demographic reflects the community surrounding it, so many Latin students attend there along with the staff. Class sizes are no more than 30. What's awesome about Promesa is that it also teaches students Spanish, so if you have a child who speaks Spanish or would like your student to start speaking it at a young age, this is the place for you! All the educators here are so hardworking and loving. Let me talk more about KIPP itself. What makes KIPP as a network so special is the KIPP through College program. Although there are no KIPP high schools anywhere in the U.S., KIPPsters are paired with a college counselor from high school until their college graduation that assists with any scholarships, college applications, resources like laptops, food assistance, and more! Teachers, If you are looking for a school that is welcoming, and has high energy, this is the place for you. Not only will you become a better educator teaching here with on spot feedback, but you will also feel valued by the individuals you work with because they focus on equity of voice.
