Simply excellent. Food, service, atmosphere... perfect! Authentic. Perfectly seasoned. Perfect level of heat (spice). Best Indian food outside of the UK (other than India, of course). What a treat! (*Another big plus about this place is that they use a lot of locally produced, Fair Trade &/or bio/organic products. Just another reason to give them my business.)

My vegetarian choices from the lunch buffet - delicious and even vegan!

Best Indian food in Zurich ... The food has a South Indian touch to it ...Would recommend their Malabar fish curry & any lamb preparation .

It's reasonably priced typical to zurich.

Food here was amazing…read more We ordered the Tamarind Mix Platter, Tandoori Butter Chicken, Lamb Roganjosh, Rice, Garlic Naan, and a Mango Lassi. The Tamarind Mix Platter had a variety of appetizers and to this day, I have not found such flavorful Indian appetizers. The spices they used were phenomenal. Their mango lassi was the best I have ever had, I believe they used some saffron in it and it was absolutely delicious. The entrees were pretty good but did not stand out as much as the appetizer and mango lassi. Overall, the food was very good. However, keep in mind, the prices were a bit steep. The mango lassi was pretty small and still 7CHF, the garlic naan was 5.50CHF each portion, the rice was 4.50CHF per portion, and a liter of water was an insane price of 10CHF. That's over 10 USD for water. Also, the butter chicken was 32CHF which is over double of what you would pay in the US. Anyway, if you visit Switzerland, you'll soon realize that everything is expensive, but 10CHF for water is still kind of crazy.

Good price Friendly…read more Home cooked style Kottu rotti only available after 3pm. I just came for those but I couldn't order it for lunch. I ordered the chicken menu instead and she just kept filling the bowl with rice and veggies and daal. Loved it! Because to me Indian food is about different flavors. But when you go to a fancy Indian place you pay for chicken, saag spinach, cabbage, pumpkin curry, lentil daal, and sometimes even rice all separate and you end up with a huge bill. Here I got everything for 12 bucks in one serving to go. That made me happy. Pumpkin curry was delicious, so was everything else. No seating, to go only. But there is a park close by at Helvetiaplatz. Or even closer Zeughaus.

Excellent food, great service, and fantastic value!…read more I'm extremely cheap, so eating out is often painful and disappointing. India Street Food was one of the best food experiences I had while traveling through most of western Europe. I stayed near this restaurant and came across it by chance, hungry and without the right currency. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. He gave me a large portion, which was great since my family and I had been traveling for most of the day. The owner even threw in a free pakora type thing for free seeing that I had a toddler with me. The food was delicious. All three dishes that we tried were tasty, although I liked the vegetarian dishes best, even though I love my meats. I would go back in a heartbeat and if I'm ever in Zurich, I will make deliberate effort to get to India Street Food.
