When visiting Switzerland we stayed at the Sheraton next to Naanu and I'm SO GLAD we did because good flavorful food was so hard to find late at night! Their service is great; the food is delicious and there's ample seating for everyone. I'd recommend you try as much as you can from their menu because everything was extremely delicious and the portion sizes were not horribly big or small. It's a good amount to try various items. Avoid this restaurant at all costs. They advertised their evening special for butter chicken at CH 22.95 so I thought I would stop by for dinner. Beforehand I looked at the reviews and they seem to be pretty promising. Upon arrival there was one other table that was being waited on. To say the least the service was very slow. The food was actually OK, and on a scale of 10 was maybe 7. I ordered a beer off of the menu which showed CH 4.95. After asking for the bill, they overcharged me CH 6 for the dinner, and CH 1 for the beer. I asked the waitress to show me the menu and I pointed out the discrepancies. She went back-and-forth saying that she did not know why etc. etc., but I have to say that this is a very dishonest establishment. Naanu offers a great selection of flavorful Indian food and is close to a couple of hotels, like the Sheraton in Zurich West. As a vegetarian, I very much appreciated the wide variety of proteins available (seitan and tofu curries, for example). The restaurant space is very nice, but I found the service to be a bit slow and inattentive (it was hard to get water refilled, to ask for boxes for our food, and to pay the bill). Note that the kitchen closes much earlier than the restaurant itself, so don't expect a late dinner here. read more

Just went here for lunch today with a friend and we both love indian food. We had the lunch-menu (Tandoori Chicken with Rice and Naan) and it was delicious! Good flavours and the Naan was made to order. Quick and friendly service as well. The only thing I didn't like too much was the homemade ice tea, which was just not sweet enough for me ;-). We'll definitely come back for lunch or maybe even for dinner. read more

Are you staying a little west of the downtown area? Maybe at Marriott Renaissance? That's where I was too. So, about a 10 minute walk away is Naanu and I'd highly recommend it...especially when the weather is nice and you can sit outside. The service was great, the wine (Swiss wine by the glass) was perfect, and it was really nice to be able to sit outside, watch the day move towards night, and eat a good Indian/Nepalese meal. Here is an odd mix fusion cuisine never seening anywhere especially in Zurich. Tandoori chicken is tender but not over powering in favor, shrimp curry goes well with Swiss shrimp's unique crisp texture. Unusual food in unlikely town. Restaurant is located near newly revived hip industrial area by Toni Ariel, outdoor seating with early Swiss summer sunset background by techno music playing from the 25 hr hotel next door. It is not cheap by any means, as a take out meal cost me almost 50 CHF. But we are in Zurich. Chicken Vindaloo wasn't on the Menu but they made it for me. They offered tea and coffee while I was anxiously waiting for the meal. The chicken Vindaloo wasn't as spicy as the version I had but it is definitely packed with spices and flavors. read more

Really good Nepalese/Indian food, huge portions, and for Switzerland, very good prices. I had chicken vindaloo and dal, a lassi, and rice, for CHF 21. Probably my favorite restaurant in the area (although there are a few in this particular area which are good options). read more

A nice Indian (with a touch of Nepalese) restaurant in Zürich out of the few I've tried so far. I was satisfied with the variety of spices in the curries. I recommend ordering a variety of them and sharing family style. The prices are quite reasonable relative to the norm in Zürich. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a while, and finally got the chance a few weeks ago for my office birthday lunch. I was a little confused about the order when I first went to place it - what happens is you pick your menu, type of rice, and then you get a "free sample" of one of the other options. Essentially, you get to try two different things in one meal, which is a pretty good deal. I went here in the evening around 8 - I wasn't sure if it was still open but it was. We ordered samosas as a starter, I had a beef curry which was the daily special and my partner had butter chicken. The samosas were very nice and big, home made not frozen. The curries were excellent as well. Not typical Indian maybe, but they're meant to be Nepalese and I really enjoyed them. The price was good for Zurich - rice is an extra item though. I haven't checked out this restaurant for lunch, but I feel happy to recommend it for the evening. read more

We had a very good Indian meal here. Samosas, Chicken Tikka Masala, garlic naan. I would absolutely recommend this place and would go again.

got some take out yesterday, service team was very zurich style but in a friendly and direct way. food was superb, fresh and tasted like i had dinner in mumbai. we had some samosas and butterchicken with yellow rice. also the garlic naan was supertasty. the nepalesi momos were tasty - only the sauce was more like on the butter chicken - very similar. we got invited to have a drink on the house, while waiting, that was really nice and unusual in zurich. cool and friendly athmosphere - just around the corner. happy to have naanu around here! the only thing - its a bit expensive for a take out. above 70bucks - the prices appeared to me the same for take out as well as if you enjoy table service. anyhow, i ll be back. read more

The food is expensive for corner Indian restaurant. 28.50 CHF for a small dish of curry beef with 1/2 cup or rice. Ok, so this is Zurich pricing so that's fine. Where they get you is charging you 20 CHF for 2 liter of water that was not opened in front of you... For all I know it was tap water. Also, the service is at a snails pace. Unless you have 3 hr for dinner, then this is not your place. I recommend outside seating if you are going to go for the simple reason that your cloths won't absorb the strong odors. I gave it 3 star because I like Indian food and the food was good ( not great). read more
