I'm an active 59-year old male who pulled an abdominal muscle while stand up paddle boarding in the waves. The pain from this abdominal strain had me taking extra strength Tylenol every six hours, plus 4% Lidocaine patches. Sleeping was all but impossible, and coughing and sneezing was very, very unpleasant! A friend asked if I had considered Acupuncture to help with the pain and to speed up the healing process. I had never been to an Acupuncturist and had no idea what to expect. I called Ramona and asked if she thought that Acupuncture would be an effective treatment for a pulled muscle. Omg! I've never had acupuncture before because I didn't know I had any issues that required it. Well, when I couldn't sleep because of stress which was actually exacerbating the stress etc, Ramona offered to do a session on me. Ramona took me on short notice when a nagging muscle pain had me at my wit's end. After a very uncomfortable cross-country flight I was laid up in bed for 72 hours, basically unable to stand or sit without serious discomfort in my back and sides. Ramona is a true healer and amazing at what she does. I have various aches and pains but my main issue is scoliosis. The cupping and acupuncture alone provided immediate relief but then she even incorporated massage which was a huge bonus. She also did Gua Sha on my foot which I had never tried. She pinpointed the painful area on my foot and communicated with me while she worked on it. After probably not even five minutes of working on my foot it is now pain free.
