This was my second full yoga class in my life…read more I took one a week ago and on that Saturday 8/16 felt out of sync, a spectator and wanted to quit at the 26 and 34 minute mark. I did finish that hour long class but not till today, till I experienced Corepower Yoga Mission Viejo's 11 am Community Flow with heat did I get excited, understand it better, connect with what the stellar teacher Danica was saying, moved better, was pumped , was happier and loved the entire 60 plus minutes of sweat and movement. I loved that Danica repeated " at your own pace and do move as far as you can for eg; She was so authentic and kind. She spoke from the heart and connected the class's theme and message to real life using her own example. This stiff 405 pound bench pressing, 1/2 marathon and 5 K running, 3 hours of racquetball playing wanna be muscle head moron found himself starting to get the leg up in certain positions, actually touch my toes without screaming , move better with the stretching and the heat. I felt the crunches today. I mean having a leg up and then going across with the hand behind the head left to right and vice versa was work but lovely! I am hooked. I loved this. The studio was beautiful. They had cleaning supplies and ample wipes visibly available. The lobby area was clean and inviting. The men's locker room was modern with showers and nice lockers. CorePower Yoga Mission Viejo offers classes for all levels. They also have mats and towels available. The first visit either one was free. I had a beautiful experience.

This was my first time trying a "yoga sculpt" class at CPY MV, and this is probably my favorite…read moreformat at CPY. This CPY location has showers (approx. 6 stalls), restrooms, and a small store selling yoga wear in the front. You have to bring your own yoga mat, towel, and water bottle when you come, but they also rent them (yoga mat is $4, towel is $2 i think) at the front. Set in a slightly heated room, it's a combination of CP2, but with weights. CPY ranks this class as an advanced class with medium heat. During this class, we focused on full body (exercises like static lunges, squat to shoulder press, planks, etc.) and also held vinyasa flow poses with weights. I really enjoyed how it was progressively more challenging each time we returned to a sequence. The instructor (Wendy Black) was really energetic and had an upbeat playlist, which was perfect for the class type. I'm glad to have tried this class, and I'll definitely try this format out again!

Hot yoga is on a whole different level. I had never taken a…read moreyoga class before, and hot yoga definitely challenged me. Since I wasn't familiar with the pose names, the first few classes felt very fast paced and a little overwhelming. The instructors were kind, welcoming, and supportive, though they did not often provide poses example or individual posture corrections. Most of the time, I learned by watching the people around me and following along. I realized that the regular classes follow the same practice each time. They also offer Yin and Sculpt classes, but there are only a few of those on the weekly schedule. After attending four or five classes, I became more familiar with the poses and flow by memorization. I do wish there were more class options with different levels of difficulty and a wider variety of poses. As a beginner, it felt a bit left out being in classes filled with experienced students. I'm not sure whether this is a pro or a con, but they are very strict about staying for the full 60 minute class. One time I saw a few people leave early, so I did the same, and the instructor reminded me that anyone planning to leave before class ends should let the teacher know in advance. Personally, I felt a little uncomfortable with this policy, especially in that situation when I have to leave to use the restroom. Students are generally expected to remain in the room for the entire session. If you need a break, you can rest on your mat, but leaving the room is not allowed. However, I agree that it courages our commitment to the practice and to maintaining a focused class environment. The heat is intense. I've seen some people sweat so much that there were actual puddles around their mats. I normally don't sweat very much, so hot yoga was a completely different experience for me. By the end of class, I felt like I had worked harder than in most other workouts and left feeling refreshed and energized. The studio itself is exceptionally clean, welcoming, and professionally run. Everyone was friendly, and I appreciated that there was no pressure to purchase a membership. All the staffs genuinely seemed to care about creating a positive experience. They remember my name and ask me on my feelings, which are very touching. Overall, I really enjoyed it and have a lot of respect for how professionally everything is managed. I only wish they had addition locations in Irvine or Lake Forest. They are doing awesome, and quality hot yoga studios are not always easy to find. I love this experience overall!!! Highly recommended.

You don't play bad quality fast music in a yoga class! Nothing relaxing! I've attended slow yoga and regular pace yoga and this was just really bad! I cancelled my membership, however was charged for 3 months worth after the fact. I called the owner Beth and manager Sam whom both told me they would look in to this and get back to me. I now believe they were lying because after 2 months of trying to get ahold of them again and again to follow up and with a dozen emails sent to do the same, they have not yet contacted me nor issued my refund for the overpayment. I would not sign up for this studio unless you want the same to happen to you. I have read many reviews of the same thing happening to other customers with no resolution as well. This definitely now feels like a scheme and scam.

Try one of the energy drinks in the cooler, and enjoy the lavender-infused towels offered after every class. At YogaSix, the focus is on health and strength and the classes are accessible to anyone. Highly recommended!
