The waiting time is very low, they have all kinds of testing equipment in the facility. It's almost like having my own primary care physician and hospital around the corner. This is the worst experience I've ever lived in my life. My son fell and split his head open at the beach so we brought him here. Sarah was immediately so rude she had no care in the world for his well being all she was worried about was his insurance. She was telling us we were over exaggerating had no concern. All the doctors apologized for her behavior. This says a lot. I hope this woman immediately gets relieved from being a nurse, she is the most rude and disgusting human I have ever met, no compassion for a 6 year old only worried about the money. The name is very deceptive urgent care we called at six to see if they were open. Their website says 8 o'clock and the lady that answered told me that they had taken their last patient of the day and I asked her where shall I go and you know what her answer was, anywhere you want that's not a medical professional I would never in 1 million years use this service and that's the pitfall of living in Malibu. I am guessing that anyone who is a parent in Malibu, has ever had a respiratory illness, or an injury, is well acquainted with our local Malibu urgent Care. Though small, this is one of the best equipped and staffed urgent cares around. But what's prompting me to write this, is the amazing generosity of the doctors and their Community involvement. If you are new to the community, visiting, or otherwise not acquainted with Malibu urgent care, let me just tell you right off the bat you are in great and caring hands. The doctors and staff keep up with the latest medical advances, pharmaceuticals, and techniques. They are warm, experienced and though no one really ever wants to be a patient, they make the experience as pleasant as humanly possible. In addition to having most all of the equipment necessary to diagnose and treat injuries and ailments (trust me, unfortunately we know this all too well from first-hand experience), they have set up a cardiac screening for our local students participating in School athletics. They are donating their time to make sure that our students can safely participate in strenuous activities without worrying about a hidden heart ailment. I have been a long time fan of Malibu urgent Care for the excellent treatment we've received over the years, but to know how much the owners and doctors actually care about our students, is truly heartwarming. read more

Huge fan of this place. The staff at the front are friendly and super attentive and will process/get you back as quickly as they can. Note that the place can sometimes get crowded because it's really the only medical spot around, so sometimes it'll get packed during the summer / peak times but you can call ahead to get a sense of the wait if you're in a rush. The Doctors are extremely knowledgeable and thorough and have tons of imaging equipment there so you can get lab draws, scans and wound closures all in the same visit. I've visited frequently over the years cause it's on my commute to/from work and have found them to be reliable and often prefer visiting Dr. Pike over seeing my regular doc's due to difficultly getting immediate appointments. Well, the need for an urgent care typically results from an undesirable situation occurring. But let's not hold that against them. They help us heal! Personally, I find Urgent Care's to be a God send & immensely preferable to Emergency Rooms when seeking treatment for none life threatening situations. I've never gone to an ER without it being a 6+ hour experience. Urgent cares are far faster and truth be told, better for everyone because it frees up the ER staff to attend to those with critical, issues that are not treatable by the Urgent Care. PSA done. Moving on to how great this place is... This urgent care was particularly terrific. I've been to one other since moving to LA in Santa Monica when I had pneumonia and it was a lengthy wait, packed & not as clean. This location has incredibly nice staff. They took my questions over the phone, checked me in/out quickly & were super knowledgeable. Which is obviously what want when seeking medical care. The doctor had a really nice bed side manner, was warm, friendly and compassionate. There was no wait & parking was a breeze. It was also extremely clean! I was a Pacific Palisades resident from May 2022 until January 7th, 2025. When I was not well, Malibu Urgent Care was the only place where I knew I would be taken care of seriously. I have been to a lot of urgent care places over the last few years and even though I don't live in Malibu - this one was by far the most efficient the easiest with the best doctors and staff... I give it a huge thumbs up! I was attending a retreat over the weekend and woke up with a UTI and showed up there on Sunday at 9 AM when they opened. I was out of there by 9:50 AM. Everybody was helpful - from the front desk assistant to the doctor to the nurses, they quickly managed my test results and gave me a prescription, as well as giving me medication while I was there. My insurance covered a good amount of it so the cost was minimal. I would highly recommend this urgent care center to anybody in around the Malibu area! read more

this place terribly misdiagnosed my fiancé. He had strep throat that was not going away for a month, has been having 101-102 fever for 3 days. He came back to the same urgent care to get rechecked again. they tested him for strep and Covid which were negative. The strep test was a false negative because he has been taking antibiotics before, which were prescribed by this same doctor, Malibu urgent care should have had his past records. we went to the ER that same day because my fiancé was spiking fevers of 103 and 104 which is very very rare and dangerous for a totally healthy young man. After the urgent care visit we followed all the directions the dr gave us and in the evening his fever was 104 and we rushed to the hospital. When we were at the hospital ER, they of course did a full check up and they recommended other type of stronger antibiotic. Any physician will know that if a strep throat is recurring within a month the patient will need stronger antibiotics. Any competent physician will know that the strep test could be a false negative especially when the patient has been taking antibiotics. All this doctor needed to do is tell my fiancée to go to the ER because bacteria like this can recur into an abscess or even worse - infect the tissue of the heart. His throat was visibly covered in copious amounts of white puss. If you care about your health, do not go to Malibu Urgent Care. ER diagnosed him with tonsillitis and pharyngitis meaning the infection from his throat traveled down his airway. If we would have listened to malibu urgent care doctor and "waited it out" the infection could have caused irreversible damage. not only the Dr gave my fiancée the wrong antibiotics, he also told him that he doesn't know what is wrong with him and he doesn't know why he has a fever and its up to my fiancee if he wants to take the antibiotics or not. He recommended to just take Tylenol or ibuprofen and wait it out. If we would've come one day later to the ER, the consequences could've been way more serious. I am very grateful that we figured out what is going on, but I am afraid to think what would have happened if we listened to the malibu urgent care dr. Just remembering the moment I saw 104.3 on the thermometer.... my heart drops (104.3 after following this doctor's recommendations and taking prescribed antibiotic). I hope this place will hire decent physicians because it is the only urgent care in the area. Very sad and unfortunate... never going there again and I will be sure to inform everyone in the area to avoid that place read more

I just wanted to give a big shout out to Dr. McNally and all of his staff especially Francis had a very bad cut on my finger today and was seen x-rayed and stitched all within an hour of entering the premises. I really like it here. They have same day COVID tests with minimal wait. They can text you with your results within the hour. The only downside is that sometimes the insurance can take a while to work through- and not all your visit is reimbursable from my insurance. Still, if you are with Kaiser like me and don't want to spend days getting a COVID test then it's totally worth the co-pay. My friend also got her son's head injury treated here. Her son had longer hair so they French braided the wound shut instead of shaving his hair and giving him stitches! For a kid especially, this seems like a more humane approach than needles. His head healed fine too. You get what you pay for, and this is worth it. read more

Was hiking the other day and was attacked by a swarm of bees. Stung all over my scalp, eyelid, ear, and upper body, over twenty stings. Drove to Malibu Urgent Care crying, in shock, feeling like I was on fire, and in a great deal of sharp pain, traumatized, and still bees were crawling around Al over my scalp and there many stingers sticking in it. There were about half a dozen people who appeared to have Covid or colds there waiting to get tested. The receptionist took me in without delay and they led me to a room where a bored EMT looked through my scalp using a half of a comb and removed a few stingers, plus two bees flew out of my hair and he let them out of the window. He didn't do any first aid. Took my vitals, but not my temperature. Then he left me alone. When he returned I asked if he could do anything for the horrific pain and he said he'd bring an ice pack and a cup of water. He kept staring out the window. At what, I don't know, but he was distracted and clearly not interested in helping me. I sat for a long time and then, finally walked out and found him standing there, chatting with a co-worker. I asked if he was going to bring the ice packs and water and finally he went and got them. The ice packs were not cold, they were the ones you twist to activate. They were small and fell off of my head. He left me alone again for a long time and finally the doctor came in. She was very condescending saying where she's from this happens all of the time, minimizing my condition, and stated that I needed to get in a mud bath. Well, that didn't help me any. Where's the nearest mud bath? She asked if I was allergic to anything. I told her I have an auto immune condition and am sensitive to epinephrine. She said that no one can have that reaction and that's not possible. I told her the dentist gives me lidocaine without epinephrine because it makes me uncomfortable and causes my heart to race. She blew me off. Why such a bad attitude? I had heard her out there rollicking in laughter with a woman who had brought her elderly mother in for a check up. Sounded like they were old pals. "Come back any time! Great to see you!" What happened to doctors who want to help, as in "Urgent care"? Seems there's a tiered system at play in this facility. She really didn't seem to want to deal with me and just stood there, arms crossed, staring at me in silence, so I asked her if she could help with the intense pain as it was almost unbearable. She said I'd be getting a steroid shot and left. She never looked at my wounds or touched me. That same distracted EMT came in and gave me a very painful shot way too low. Ive given myself vitamin shots many times for years in my upper hip area for autoimmune condition and he was way off. I left rubbing my sore hip. Insult to injury. He told me to go home and comb through my hair to get any remaining stingers out. He was too bored and couldn't be bothered. A sign in the examination room announced that they now offer concierge service for 399. per year. This place used to be great but no more. Best to go elsewhere because here at Malibu Urgent Care, they don't give a flip about you or what's ailing you. I'm spreading word. read more

I have used Malibu Urgent care for Covid testing (throughout the last 2 yrs of the pandemic) to strep throat. My kids have been in for different things. The staff is always kind and patient and the doctors are great. I've seen a few of the docs and they are always thorough with diagnoses and after care. I've been amazed how everyone there keeps their cool with surging cases of covid when there was a line for testing and treatment out the door. I will continue to use Malibu Urgent Care for whatever comes up. I much prefer my visits there than I did seeing my GP in Los Angeles. Thank you to staff and docs!! read more

On Sunday was the slowest Dr. (Old man) and nurse team. Not only were they rude when I asked them to please hurry, as my friend had cut opened his hand badly and required stitches; but continued to walk slowly around the office as if nothing happened. I know we are in crazy times with the pandemic but when someone requires immediate medical attention it should take precedence. The nurse said would you like to come back here, rudely instead of being a professional. We waited one and half hours before Being seen as my friend was still bleeding profusely. Sadly I used to go here and when had a big wound they took me back immediately and stitched me up. What happened malibu urgent care? Time for a need update with the old dr on Sunday and nurse team. Another person was there for two hours and was complaining as well. Some things need to take precedence. Dr. S need to have that understanding, I'm not one but I can easily tell the time for it. The absolute worst office staff, would get more results taking to an answering machine they are so frustrating to talk to. I was charged $330 to take a cotton bud out of my ear, that took all of 20 seconds!! After they would not take my insurance even though it's one of the best on the market, I got it covered by my insurance. My insurance sent Malibu Urgent care a refund of $315 in October 2018. Even though Dr Frankel ensured me he would take care of me personally its Jan 4th 2019 and I am still waiting... Andy in billing is out Dr Frankel is out and no-one can help me. AVOID at all costs they are just after money no interest in people. read more

leaving a 2 star review just because our family has been treated at this place for 8+ years and until recently have had decent experiences. i agree with a fair set of recent 1-star reviews that this place has gone downhill. it's sad as it only takes a few negative interactions to cause serious distress, and I suspect a lot of it is down to a particular member of staff there. what was our experience? last week my daughter collapsed at home, with blue lips and tachycardia. my wife arrived at malibu urgent care at 6:30pm and was told that no one could see her in a very rude way, including the person rolling their eyes. my wife asked if there were alternatives and was told to go to ER which is 30-40 mins away. my wife panicked after the kid passed out in the parking lot going back to the car, and went back to bang on the glass to beg for help. the woman in the office made it clear she wasn't helping but was instead was writing down her license plate, presumably to intimidate her. so many things were bad with this interaction. firstly, they should have mentioned that UCLA urgent care was literally 2 mins away and still open - it's reasonable not to see someone if you are out of hours, but c'mon, at least have the compassion and professionalism to mention a better alternative that was certainly known to them. secondly, it costs nothing to be polite and professional, even if the person is panicking about their child. we don't need professional service when we are at our best, we need it when we are in our most difficult times & worrying greatly. we'll never be back. our experience at UCLA urgent care that night was excellent. it's more professional, better funded and has longer hours - in the end my daughter tested positive for influenza-A - we managed to keep her out of ER although it was touch and go as she couldn't even drink water for close to 2 days. we will go to the UCLA facility in future, and so should you. it's sad, it's the end of an era for us supporting a local malibu medical business. read more

There is never a long wait to be seen there, and the facility is very clean. I had an ankle injury the other day and everyone was so nice. Absolutely best care I have recieved by far. I went to three different doctors before been seen here, and they were the only ones that gave me an accurate diagnosis. I returned for another sickness recently and recieved exceptional care right away. I don't do well with needles at all, but Bethany was so amazing that I didn't even realize she had started taking my blood before it was done. Unprofessional and unhelpful. Yes, they close at 7pm, but evidently last patient in by 6:15 (so do schedule your accident accordingly) and yes I was later than that but before 7. I had one broken foot in a full boot and had really twisted my knee, could not put weight on it, fell, and I could not drive. "Come back in the morning." OK, so I sleep on your porch? I cannot drive and am an hour from where I am staying. "Call a friend." I don't live her; there is no one I can call. Where is the nearest hospital? "Santa Monica 45 minutes." The nearest Urgent Care? "Calabasas, same." Can you ask the doctor for me? "No." Door closes in face. So I try to drive and put myself and others in jeopardy? I am an EMT-Paramedic and was just here for one day to renew my license. If I passed this receptionist on the side of the road and no one was stopping for her -- even if it was -- OMG! -- close to my quitting time -- I sure would stop and help her. (I hope she reads this.) This wasn't a scrape and bandaid request. Or at least call 911 for me! She didn't bother to ask how she could help and my phone was also dead. She just shut the door in my face. This is not an ethically-bound professional medical establishment. This initial "intake" is indicative of the lack of quality of later care. SKIP AT ALL COSTS. I have been seeing Dr. Ferguson and Dr. Frankel for over 15 years. They are excellent at diagnosing illnesses with careful attention and they are quick about it. My brother is a physician in Los Angeles and every encounter he has had on the phone when one of his patients shows up at Malibu Urgent Care, he is completely impressed with their skills. He cannot praise them high enough. I have been to Dr. Jill for everything like ear infections to sprained ankles. And she does do the best placement of Botox I have ever had. She does it when she can, and when she can work it into her own schedule. It never interferes with her urgent care patients and it never will. Their staff is gracious and I always say that the locals in Malibu are very lucky to have these doctors in our city. read more
