I think I was mostly impressed with how quiet it was outside at the rideshare pickup point. The vehicles in this city mostly run on electricity. Even their public buses are 100% electric. It's just something that was very noticeable to us throughout our stay in Copenhagen. It deserves a mention. I can't really rate it higher than 4 stars since it was an arrival with no departure. We didn't stay at the airport long enough to experience what it has to offer. I'll update this review if we ever find ourselves at CPH again in the future.

They don't even stamp your passport anymore so there's even less work for these wonderful go-getters. Oh, they also asked me why I was in Denmark and for how long. So what does this airport do? Staff ONLY two - that's one then two booths so the elderly, the jet lagged and the aggravated can stand FOR NEARLY THREE HOURS while they have to put up with Danish Bureaucratic INEFFICIENCY. No one minds a well ordered society. However, blinkered pig ignorance is quite another thing. BONUS THIEVERY: when you go outside to the taxi stand, there's some smiling Dane invite you into a taxi van that sees 8 to 12 people and then offers to take you into Copenhagen just on your own, don't fall for it. I'm shocked. I fell for it. I trust Danes. Apparently that is no longer an option. When I checked my bill after he had driven me the 15 minutes into the hotel in Midtown Copenhagen, what should have been about a $50 taxi ride was $75. Never mind that I was ignorant enough to tip him. Do not get into a van alone - you figure we learned this from the days of Ted Bundy. Bonus fact: figured that on the return flight nine days later, my photo and fingerprints were the system and it would be a breeze getting through Pasco control. But apparently not. The wise Danish flight authority still decided to only Man three of 15 to 20 booze. And there we were again waiting for an hour and a half maybe closer to an hour because they needed to take the photograph again. Apparently my facial features had changed greatly in nine days and they want to make sure that the person leaving their beloved nation was not some guy that looked like me and just had the same fingerprints as me and had all the other information like me. No reason was given while they needed another photograph and I didn't make a big deal of it or I would've been eaten a lie by the people behind me were frothing from standing online for hours. Or an hour. Get your stuff together, airport.

I got access to the main lounge for flying SAS back to LA as a SkyTeam Elite Plus member. It was OK: glad to try it. Entrance was easy via a ticket scan (was allowed to bring one extra person, which I didn't need), and is meant for fast throughput. It's a very open space, with a lot of light and windows. One could tell pretty quickly that the first floor was pretty full, so took my luggage and lugged my way up to the second floor. Both floor had buffet/beverage stations so didn't need to move again until ready to go. The food was OK, with a lot of things belonging on a continental menu, including cheese block, different breads, various cold vegetables and some really watery soup. They did have Carburg on tap which was nice. Everything is reusable wares and utensils. There is wifi available, but requiring a password. And used plates get cleared pretty quickly. I stuck around for 1 hour, leaving about 80 minutes before scheduled departure. What I didn't realize was that the lounge is before immigration/passport control...so what I thought was plenty of time to make it to the gate, ended up being a rush run to the gate.

The concept has similar design to the normal lounges but they are much smaller and the food selection is much more limited. At the airport in Malmö the lounge is fairly small, perhaps space for 30 people but it is nicely designed. They have free coffee and tea as well as fruits, pastries, cookies and also chocolate. There is a limited range of magazines and newspapers as well as of course free wifi (but wifi is free in the whole airport so no real benefit from that). It is nice to be able to just quickly stop by the lounge to grab something light to eat and have a beverage so nice addition to the airport and nicely developed concept by SAS.

The layover in Copenhagen was extremely short and stressful. I don't understand why they sell tickets with such short connections when it's almost impossible to make them without having to run through the airport. They lost my luggage both times. I had a lecture in Berlin--the main purpose of my trip--and had to deliver it wearing sweaty loungewear. It was humiliating. Yesterday, I returned to San Francisco and learned that my bag was missing again. I paid $1,400 for this trip, and the whole experience has been ridiculous. In spite of all this I must admit that the planes were more or less comfy and the food was good.

My big issue is that we checked a stroller in Amsterdam at the gate where an attendant came by to collect it by hand. When we arrived in Copenhagen it hadn't shown up. We waited, looked around and waited some more. We went to the SAS customer service area and let them know to which we were shortly informed that it was lost and actually left behind entirely in a different country. The first gate agent didn't seem very sympathetic to the situation. She told me they had no strollers to lend but did fill out the form with me to maybe have it replaced while I'm here for a short time. She discussed this with a few other colleagues, went back and another representative from SAS came out with a janky, abandoned and quite flimsy stroller. This was such a blessing for us traveling with a three year old even to use this stroller.

Today the warm lunch options were a Thai Curry chicken stew with white rice (not bad at all), and I didn't try the Bean Chili (doesn't feel like a good idea for a long plane ride with many people).. Not as cramped and busy as the other Carlsberg lounge in the "shopping area". More spacing with chairs and probably not crowded due to the passport control and limited flight/gates nearby.

While it shares with other providers like Air Canada, it can get crowded but most of the time, if you arrive early before your flight, you're not scrambling to settle down, get some wine/beer, munchies and plug in. But hey, after 15 min, you just become unplugged because there are other nice features to the lounge: comfy couches in the back, reading material (in various Euro languages also), drinks galore including alcoholic, nice organic fruit, attendant staff and helpful SAS agents who have alerted me that my flight was delayed! How did she know me? I checked in with her like a half hour ago. Silently impressed. Visits: 4 Tip: There are showers (must reserve one as soon as you get in) and they give amenity kits depending on what you need in the shower. Don't assume that you'll go from the lounge to your gate. Not so. Be aware that the business lounge is right before Denmark's Passport Control before all the boarding gates. Allow enough time to go through the lines as the lines can take 10 minutes to navigate.

Freshly prepared soups, hot dogs, danish, all kinds of coffee drinks, oatmeal, entree salads, pasta salads, rice salads, cookies, brownies, chips and dip . . .pretty much enough food to keep you going no matter how long you are stuck in this airport. And they have these comfy chairs that you sink into and really have to pull yourself out of. The wifi is fast (get the code at the front desk) and there are plenty of newspapers and magazines to lose yourself in. And even the bathrooms were private and super clean.
