The Crowne Plaza Resort & Golf Club owns and operates the Historic Lake Placid Club. The Lake…read morePlacid Club offers 45 holes of spectacular golf in the heart of the Adirondacks. Award-winning courses offer a unique variety of golf for players of all abilities in a truly breathtaking setting. Mountain Course with its open field (fewer trees to lose your gold ball) was easier to navigate and mostly straight shots. The views of the mountain was just breath taking -- it was almost hard to focus on the gold with such amazing views. Not too crowded and the rates are discounted after the morning rush hour. Pristine Nine measuring 1,519 yards winds up the trio of courses, offering a little slice of golf heaven with seven par 3's and two par 4's. By the second day, just needed a little pitch and putt before the long drive back home. This was the perfect place to practice your swings. A really wonderful location and well worth the visit.

Rental clubs were reasonable at $15, by they were of poor quality and the pull cart came with an old muffin and some 1/2 full (optimistically) water bottles from their last trip. Course is a very tight par 3, with 2 x short par 4s tucked in. Country club attitude & rates not matched by the set up. I'd go spend elsewhere next time.

2nd time our foursome comes. First time no issues. Today ... another story…read more 1) First of all very dangerous golf course. Everything is too close to each other and we at heard at least 20 'fore ! ' today. Someone will get killed there 2) Some little guy ... I guess he is the Marshall but trying to act like a Sheriff lol. Always lurking around like a creep...very annoying. 3) We had an older gentleman golfing alone and we had to wait for him...which is fine. No worries. There definitely isn't any pros golfing there nor are we. 4) We got ready somewhere on the back 9, waiting for him to be in safe distant and talking like normal golfers do and some older frustrated woman from the opposite started giving us crap and being very offensive as she realized we were English. We told her to relax and some older man, trying to be her 'hero' said 'Calme toi ...c'est ça la propriéteur ' We answered him and her.... ' tu te prends commes la reine du golf? ....relaxe madame...t'es frustré ou quoi? If she is the owner or the owner's wife, who the hell does this low class queen think she is....The owner of the Falcon or Elmridge Golf Club ? Such a rotten impression... the old guy is lucky we are educated...someone else would have fed him his teeth. The reviews don't lie. Garbage management and if that was the owner, cette madame est vraiment un méchante vielle. You should be ashamed. Bravo Golf Vaudreuil.... Congratulations you lost more clients today

Maybe if they invest some money into fixing the fairways and greens and hire new management, there could be hope for this place.. but until then, this is a hell hole with people in tank tops and cargo shorts coming to swing their clubs and ruin even further what is left of the grass..

Sound as an Irish Pound Lads & Lasses!…read more First off, I would drive 2-3 hours for a good round of golf, and driving to Glengarry is no different. It's almost a straight shot on the 417 East, on the other side of Ottawa, almost at the Quebec border, even the US border as well, but the drive and fall scenery are magnificent. The course is a bit difficult to navigate to without a map or some type of navigational device, but that doesn't detract from the overall impression I have. I am surprised there aren't more reviews for this course than what is out there, and on the sites I frequent, there are none. The drive up is nice, the trees lining the drive up, but it's the view from the first (and 10th) tee box that start the majestic views for this course. The challenges vary from hole to hole, some have wide welcoming fairways with challenging pin placements, other holes require precision golf leading up to a wide green. Some of the greens are generally flat with little break, and others will wreak havoc on your inertia if you're not careful. But that is one of the beauties of the game. There are a couple of holes that will tempt you to "go for it" and shave a couple of strokes off your round, but beware. If you miss, you'll add those strokes you went to subtract. The staff I met there are extremely friendly and cordial, as well as some of the other patrons I encountered, which always makes the experience that much better. My biggest point of a golf course are tee box repair boxes, which Glengarry has. If you see 300+ golfers in a day and no means to repair divots (one of the biggest golf etiquette points), the tee boxes can look like a mud pit to say the least. The repair kits take a second to sprinkle some dirt mix on your divot and you go, for those that don't know about repairing your divots. For the duffer to the scratch golfer, I recommend Glengarry. You will not be disappointed!!!

The course was in an 9 out of 10 for conditions in my opinion and I will explain why. Tee boxes 10, Greens 10, Fairways 8 ( little brown but still not bad, Also not all the fairways where brown neither.) Bunkers 6 ( had some rocks and where thin ), Price 10, pace 10, layout and scenery 10... Cottage 120 on 4th Fairway was fantastic, now I say fantastic because I went there knowing this wasn't a Marriott but a camping cottage. Our views of Lake Champlain where amazing and of the golf course as well. Now we did have some ant issues and Randy the Raccoon came to visit us by the fire looking for food ( he wasn't afraid of us neither.) Now why they get a 5 star review from me????? CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! This was by far the nicest group of people I have ever meet at a resort (Paul, Gary and everyone else that works there.) I believe those skills have been lost over the years but not here. The ant issue was resolved immediately and any other issue we may have had was as well. So in a nutshell, great golf, great price and a great place to relax and enjoy a fire and a cocktail.
