The staff are very kind and patient and they have an extensive menu to pick from. It's in a plaza with an Italian restaurant and another cafe (where we had breakfast on a different day) so a good place to drive to for a couple food options. Just found this "hole in the wall". The only Venezualen restaurant in Los Christianos! We started with the Padron Peppers.. they served them with Garlic bread..perfectly prepared! Next, the Garlic Mushroomd..the perfect combination of garlic & fresh mushrooms..more bread - which allowed us the luxury of soaking up that extra garlic & butter..because licking the plate..hmm..in public..lets just say the bread saved us from this public 'embarrasment' next, Tequenos..think Mozzarela sticks but better dipping sauce provided! Next...yup..we ordered more..think Tapas on Steriods Chickpeas..yum! Small bits of animal protien (Vegans beware..order without). The last order..regretfully..was an Arepas. We kinda mixed & matched. So we took the Vegetarian, took out the cheese..and added the avocado. They provided three different sauces & well..um..YUM!! It's a wonderful place because it's a hidden gem with great finger licking food and good cocktails and...good prices. The owner is from Venezuela and if you talk with him or any of the attractive guys you will find out a lot...they will offer something which is not in the menu or improve things in the menu or simply give you something from the menu which you had eaten but this time.....it will be a trip to the unknown because everything will be fresh, better and prepared differently. It was the only place without noise where I could eat and interact with the staff, do try arepas, chistorras, ensaladas, pimientos padron, empanadas and taqueras. And martini!!! Delicious and extremely inexpensive food. I had the Reina Pepiada(creamy shredded chicken and avocado) arepa and a Carne empanada. My partner(who is vegetarian) had a scrambled egg arepa, soft white cheese arepa, and mushrooms sautéed in a garlic sauce. But the best part of the meal was the three sauces they provided; a creamy, garlicky mayo based sauce; an avocado cilantro sauce; and finally a red pepper sauce. We didn't catch the name of our server but she was incredibly friendly and packed up our leftovers to go and even gave us to go containers of their sauces. They also have €5 bottles of delicious wine which we split. The space itself is tucked in a comercial center just behind the main drag in Los Cristianos. While it is interior, it's in a patio exposed to a lot of sunlight. Mama Arepa is cash only, but it is so affordable. For a bottle of wine, two bottles of water, three arepas, sautéed mushrooms and a huuuuge empanada we paid €20 and walked away full, with leftovers, and tipsy.
