Mamas Brew Pub had the best service -- bar none. The place feels just like an old-school pub should: cozy, laid-back, and welcoming. The food was exactly what you'd expect fried, greasy, and perfect for pairing with a cold pint. The beers were stellar. We tried a great variety: the Blueberry Wheat, Sessions IPA, North Side IPA, British Brown, and Crimson Ale. Each one hit the spot and showed off what a good local brew pub should be. I ate here on the weekend with family members. I didn't get the chance to try any of their beer (it's a brewpub), but they looked to have a good selection. I had the Khalua Melt, which was ham soaked in their Khalua marinade, then pulled, then that plus aged cheddar were used to make a grilled cheese. It was tasty! The fries were good, as were my partner's onion rings. The portions were really large, so no one was able to finish all of their food, but everyone enjoyed it. Three people got the veggie burger - according to my partner it was good, but nothing special. The other diner got one of the burgers and seemed to really like it. Other: - There were both booths and tables inside, so having the option was appreciated. - There's a huge parking lot. - There's a VLT gambling section, but it's slightly hidden from the rest of the bar. - Service was great, though everyone's burgers arrived awhile before my melt did, so I ended up sharing my partner's onion rings because I was starving. - Nice bathrooms. While I wouldn't go out of my way for it, I would eat here again and look forward to trying their beer. read more

13 of us went here for a special occasion. I ordered a Ceasar to drink and said please not spicy. Got the drink, it was so spicy i couldn't drink it, so I ordered another drink and told the waitress that it was way too spicy. I can't handle spicy drinks or food. I ordered the Mussels, which I use to always love there, I hadn't been there in about a year. The Garlic cream sauce was so thin it was like it was made from 2% milk and water. Faint hint of garlic and absolutely no salt or flavour. I added a ton of salt and that still didn't help. I totally didn't expect to be billed for the drink I couldn't drink, but sure enough, there it was on my bill! I won't be back. read more

Supporting local is the greatest part of this pub. They also welcome kids during the early supper hours and the food is downright amazing. Best wings in the city and some very delicious burgers. In house beer is also quite cheap and tasty. read more

Here for dinner. Had a Philly Cheesesteak and my dinner mate had the Mama Burger. Although the sandwiches were tasty the server missed the side orders. The 'au jus' and gravy needs a little seasoning to give it more oomph - a little bland. Overall a decent meal. Can't complain, I keep coming back. read more

Decently portioned food. Great for if you're really hungry or if you want to take some to go. Friendly staff and quick service. Booths are a little uncomfortable if you're a tall guy like me. I find the tables are a little more comfortable. Overall, I would eat here again and recommend to friends and out-of-towners. read more

I'm always looking for a new place to have breakfast, and seeing where I was in the neighborhood, I figure we would check out this place. It was Saturday morning around 9:30 so average time for breakfast. I guess the first sign should have been no cars in the parking lot, but we ventured in anyways. The decor is nice, typical bar, but seemed nice and clean, looking around there was only one other couple there eating so that wasn't a good sign either. We were seated right away and the service was friendly, and very quick. I ordered the steak, eggs and home-fries on the grill, and my wife had the scrambled eggs, bacon and home- fries. The food arrived very quick to the table which was nice, but both out home-fries were undercooked and a little cold, we mentioned it to our server who told the cooks, but didn't apologize. The steak was ok, nothing to write home about but the price was alright so can't really complain. Overall we won't be back for breakfast, but possibly for dinner. read more

Went on a date there in early March, food was great but the server was terrible. Receipt said "nanalee"? She was dressed totally inappropriately and kept putting her hand on my husband's shoulder. She came off as an air head, messed up our drink orders and my food order. Definitely will not go back or recommend to anyone else. read more
