He rebuilt my deck and built a fence. Didn't pull county permits because he said he didn't think we needed them. Only on site to do initially walk around the property and to see finished product. He didn't make sure of the quality of what the workers were doing. We have so many problems with the fencing and deck and was told to send pictures so he can advise on how to fix them. I read other reviews and thought it wouldn't happen to me. Ray provided a quote for a concrete pad for my hot tub. Came out horrible, it was not leveled (it was 2"+ on the high side, even a normal pad is not this sloped) so when i filled the spa the water spill out. Also, the dimensions were incorrect, it was suppose to be 10x11 (he did a 10x11 the wrong way, even after walking through it). The hot tub company stated they would not be able to shim as it voids the warranty. Additionally, Ray did not bull float correctly, so there are waves in the concrete (its not flat), causing pressure points on the hot tub shell. Also, there was concrete blow out at the bottom of the pad, he just simple threw dirt over it to cover up the mistake (dirt washed away you can see it). You can tell he tried to break it off but couldn't (b/c he knew he messed up). Finally, he poured the extra concrete in the woods over my gutter drain (he didn't even ask where to put it). I had to get a sledge hammer to break it up. I strongly recommend finding another company. It's bad.. very bad, don't use this guy. I believe he watched a couple videos and thought he could do it. So the new contractors came out to fix my fence. They said the fence was poorly installed. It was not deep enough and instead of him putting brackets in between a the fence, They took one long post and connected everything together so I will eventually lose all of the fence this is why it lasted under two years. This fence is not even two years old yet but they came out here and they redid everything over for me so I'm just collecting enough signatures because this is not OK when people pay over $3500 to have a fence placed you it's not OK for you to take shortcuts.. so the bottom line is, it was never installed right, but I would not have known this. We hired him to put a lattice around our deck and install a gate on the deck. The craftsmanship is sub-standard. There is a support post that is curved on one side, nearly all of the notch cuts to accommodate the posts are not flush with the post, pocket screw nails protrude from the rails and some of the lumber is not cut flush with the ends of the post. Finally, the deck gate is sagging because a screw wasn't drilled in all the way. Upon further inspection, the screw head is stripped, requiring a damage screw extractor or some other solution that will cost time and possibly money to fix. This company is a complete scam. I hired him to complete a driveway and deck. The driveway cracked after 2 weeks. We probably followed protocol on not parking on the driveway and it still cracked. I was told by another company it cracked because it was poured to high and wasn't properly smoothed so it wouldn't crack. I also contacted him to let him know that the deck didn't pass code. I asked him multiple times during the job to install brackets and he didn't. When I contacted him he was very rude. Using foul language with me. He also said it was my fault the deck wasn't installed properly. He didn't want to clean up the job site said he woukd charge me more for him to clean up his trash and to fix the issue that he did.
