However this year I had to reconsider as none of my friends were available to take my belongings this year. After comparing local storage unit prices I found GRG Storage and not only were their prices affordable they were also nearby and just five minutes away from my university accommodation. I decided to give them a try and leave my belongings for the summer. I have to say that I was impressed by the quality and affordable prices I was offered. Using my friends to store my stuff is good however now I can take the hassle off their shoulders just simply by using GRG Storage for summer storage solutions. It is an easy and reliable service offered at great competitive prices just minutes away from the University of Salford! I highly recommend this as my proffered storage provider for my fellow students at the University of Salford!

Originally, she lives in Nepal and needed a space to store her belongings before she could move her things into her new house in Leeds. After enquiring with a few companies, she decided to go with Ready Steady Store. When we arrived, the staff were very helpful and offered extra information to us regarding their services, some to even save her a bit of money. The storage period went smoothly and so did the collection of her things. Highly recommended.

My one drawback with Ready Steady Store is that I was swamped with so many deals (which are fantastic if you only need your storage box for a couple of months and no more), I had no idea how much I should have been paying! It is now £81 a month. I am considering moving everything as soon as possible, but I have to say that having my box for the past 6 months has been a life save! The two men in the office are ridiculously well versed in their terms and conditions, as well as having a sense of humour and being very helpful. You can rent anything from a box the size of a small locker to the size of a football pitch. When I first went, I was warned that the appearance of the halls and halls of doors to boxes is the closest thing you'll see to prison, without being locked up! Upon closer inspection, I think I agree! With eerie tinny radio pumping out, echoing around the eerily quiet corridors, I would recommend taking a friend when you go! They are open very early in the morning, all the way into the night, meaning that you are able to access your belongings easily, at some fairly unsociable hours, without worrying about your safety when most people are in bed! If you're a student in need of summer storage, this is ideal as there are available discounts. As for everyone else, it is a good way of saving space, and very good if you find yourself moving around a lot.

If I could give this company a minus score I would. Steer well clear of this cowboy company…read more In August 2021, we completed on our property so all our belongings were to go into storage. The crew that came on the day, I cannot fault, they protected and wrapped everything and secured it all safely in the two lorries. We did ask at the time why they had not bought storage units, but were assured that it would be transported into a unit the other end with the same care and attention. Roughly 5 weeks later we exchanged on our new property and contacted them to arrange redelivery. They had no capacity to redeliver for a few weeks so we had to pay extra on the storage even though this was not down to us. They tried to deliver to the wrong address, when they did finally arrive, it was a complete and utter shambles. When they opened the back of the lorry things started to slide out as everything looked as if it had just been thrown in. I wish now we had videoed this as a lot of our furniture was damaged, scratched, scuffed and indented, where things had been crammed in. Nothing was protected any longer where they had been packed with blankets, these no longer existed. Some of the crew spent more time sitting down on their mobile phones whilst letting others do all the work. To sum up steer well clear of this bunch of cowboys if you want your items back in the same condition. Appalling service and no care or attention whatsoever with your personal belongings.

Despite constant request to properly protect and wrap furniture, it was crammed in any old how. Finally finished early evening, into storage. 6 sealed crates. When time to deliver to new home, van arrived late, (3 pm) only 3 sealed crates, rest tipped 'loose' in back of van, very minimal protection and secured ties. Again, only 2 guys, moaning about hot weather, distance they had to travel, (I had paid for 2 days work including overnight), but did not think they needed to stop. One guy spent most time on his phone. Minimal furniture carried upstairs but when they did they damaged, walls, door frames, bannister rail, I had asked carpet layers to leave doors off luckily as they would have been damaged as well. Their big Doc Martins even trod on skirting boards upstairs and cracked and splintered them. But most shocking thing was DAMAGE to almost every item of furniture with scratches, dents galore, including leather sofas, dining table, units, broken leg off dresser, smashed glass on 42" TV, cracked mirror, gouges in picture frames. Downstairs furniture again either dumped in middle of room or heavier items left in garage, along with 60 + boxes just piled (thrown in). After just 3 and half hours, 2 guys made swift exit - despite my protests, told me take it up with office. I refused to sign acceptance receipt (because small print indicated I was happy with delivery). The Office staff say drivers/staff did no damage to home, (EXCEPT the TV) and they re-assessed my quote and sent appropriate crew for job. Owner not even contacted me and no offer of recompense. Luckily took out additional insurance so rang BAR (Removal Firms ombudsman) who told me to request they sent out Insurance Assessor, finally after 6 weeks one is on their way. But ever since, AJ Cook Removals have put phone down on me every time I try to contact them and have ignored e-mails. I have passed issue over to Credit Card Company who are taking legal action under Consumer Credit Act due to me not receiving service I paid for, but surely I'm entitled to more. This is very stressful and I certainly do NOT RECOMMEND you use their services. PHOTO EVIDENCE CAN BE SUPPLIED

They demand up front rent payment with refunds for unused time, but won't refund to your card, only send a cheque. Check in took an hour because they had computer issues but the facility, the staff and even the pricing are all actually good, hence 3 stars overall. Things to know: BRING A LOCK, or they'll try to sell you one. This was a pain mainly because I was only going to use it for such a short period of time. Anyone who's ever used self storage before probably knows this already and it was mentioned somewhere in the welcome email. INSURANCE: I wasn't sure if my house insurance covered self storage, and if you don't have paper work to prove it then you are forced into paying Access for their insurance. They also offer no pro rata refund on insurance so I had to pay for the minimum period (a week or a month, can't remember) even though I only used it for a day. It's like flying Ryanair. Be prepared and it'll get the job done, otherwise you'll feel like you're getting screwed.
