This hotel is a very attractive boutique hotel in the city of Natal. Compared to the many large resort-style hotels in Natal, I prefer to stay here. However, I always seem to have some issue when I come here.
This time, we checked in to our room (room 217) and you notice the charming canopy bed and the lovely decorations. The room has a small veranda that overlooks the hotel's swimming pool and the ocean beyond. Then I noticed the mirror: it looked like somebody had sneezed on it, so I went to the front desk and asked that the chambermaid clean the mirror. Simple request (you'd think). We went out to lunch, and when we came back, the mirror was still dirty. On our way out a little later, I asked why the chambermaid hadn't been up to the room. The gentleman working at the reception told me that she had been up, but she "determined" that it didn't need to be cleaned--the mirror just had black spots because it was old. I told him I wasn't talking about the black spots, but rather the spittle that was on it. By the time we'd left, the mirror remained dirty.
Since when do the chambermaids make executive decisions about whether to clean something a guest requested? Why couldn't they just clean the mirror?
I'll probably be back because I really like the restaurant in the hotel, but why can't they seem to get their act together? read more
