The front desk staff got me 'squared away' (Army lingo) really quickly when I reached out and the communication via txt, email, and phone could not have been better. Both Jennifer and Camila really have their act together. My hygiene assistant Ryan really knew his stuff and did a great job. He had a very upbeat attitude and demeanor while putting up with my silly jokes but he's got a bright future ahead. Dr. Rahman was the icing on the cake to say the least. She was as pleasant and as knowledgeable as Ryan and was just as warm. The doctor told me what my next steps would be for a 'deep cleaning' (which Jennifer was able to schedule me for tmrw) but also told me they would take care of fitting me for a 'night guard' for my teeth grinding.....and she was able to answer and explain ANY concerns I might have had.....BRAVO! Finally, the bathroom at their location which is locked from the public was immaculate! The location is spot on and parking is ample and convenient.....highly recommended!

It turned out they ended up removing cavities and doing fillings, but they filled my molars so poorly that I can't even floss between them because the filling material bridges across from one tooth to the other. My molars hurt, and the area under the filling is turning black--it looks like I have an infection, or as if they left debris underneath before sealing it. My teeth are turning black. I think I have an infection in all the molars they filled. After seeing so many bad reviews for this clinic, I'm going to file a formal complaint/lawsuit against them because I don't think they should be allowed to keep practicing if they don't know what they're doing. It seems like this clinic is more interested in draining insurance money than ensuring your oral health. I do not recommend coming here; there are plenty of other clinics. I came here thinking it was a good place because I saw some positive reviews, but please--go somewhere else. I absolutely regret ever coming to this clinic. They charged over $6,000--which the insurance paid--but honestly, I would have preferred to pay nothing at all. Stay away from this clinic; don't make the mistake of letting them touch your teeth. If they messed up the fillings this badly, just imagine what would happen with another procedure. This is something that will affect me for the rest of my life. Before the procedure, I was informed that the chlorhexidine would be an additional charge, and I clearly stated that I DID NOT want it. Despite declining it, it was still applied, and I was then required to pay for it. I do not believe it is fair or appropriate to provide and charge a patient for an additional service after the patient has clearly declined it. To make matters worse, when I tried to address the situation, the front desk staff member was rude to me instead of handling my concern professionally. After being a loyal patient for years and recommending this office to many families, this experience completely changed my opinion of this practice. This is not just about the money it is about respecting a patient's decision and treating patients with professionalism and respect. I've been coming to West Falls Church Dental for years. Never had a bad experience and always felt taken care of and not just another head coming through the door. I went from someone who religiously went to the dentist every 6 months and never had problems to someone who avoided it at all costs. I knew the problems in my mouth were mounting, but had a lot of trouble finding someone who put me at ease. I found a sedation dentist, but changed jobs right as I was getting ready to do about $10k of work, and had to start the search all over again due to insurance changes. Enter Dr. Mercado! I was referred to her by a friend and figured I had nothing to lose... I knew as soon as I sat in her chair that she was going to understand my dental problems. She is so careful, patient, and kind. She took all of my fear and anxieties on board and was absolutely gentle and caring during my treatments, ensuring my constant comfort each visit. She got my mouth back into top condition, from crowns and fillings to deep cleanings, and even got me started on Invisalign to clean up the orthodontic work I had done when I was younger. Dr. Mercado designed a treatment plan that worked with my insurance, spreading things across calendar years to ensure I was getting the best possible outcome and most money out of my insurance coverage. She respects my budget and what I am able to spend and works to prioritize the most important work first. She never pushes me beyond what I'm able to do or pay and I appreciate that the office works with me to fit my schedule and budget. I am always able to make appointments at times that work best for me and appreciate the flexibility in scheduling. The office facility is not fancy, but the treatment here outweighs the aesthetics. Only when I asked and said I thought I was going to see Dr Joseph Dehyar, then the son said that he was going to see me instead but that they'd bill under his father's name. That sounded very strange to me, and even weirder that no one, not the receptionist nor the dentist said anything about how they decided to give me a different dentist that day. The exam and cleaning happened, they told me there were many things wrong with my teeth and pushed me to get surgery. When I went to check out the receptionist said, "so what time next week do you want to come in for surgery?" just assuming I was going to get surgery. In my past few years of regular checkups no dentist has said I needed surgery, my last visit being just 6 months before. It all seemed sketchy. I'm going back to my other dentist.
