This hotel is located in walking distance to Ayala Mall, which is very convenient. They have a small lobby with high ceilings and a large chandelier. They have a grand staircase with chandeliers on top of the stairs which make the stairs look majestic. There is a nice ballroom with beautiful chandeliers. This place has a lot of chandeliers, which is probably why there are a lot of weddings here.
They have a really good breakfast buffet which is included in the hotel price. During our stay, the bacon was always available, which is covered in tempura. Thus, it was really crispy, which is a plus. It also wasn't that salty. In this buffet, they served rice, squid, sausage, scrambled eggs, boiled egg, arroz caldo, papaya and filipino desserts like ube. What I did was put fried garlic, boiled egg and green onion on my rice to make my own garlic rice.
They have a very small narrow outdoor pool, with pool chairs on the side located on the fifth or sixth floor. They have a lounge which is open until 11pm and there are two singers there sometimes.
Why the two stars? well the rooms are subpar. Had two different rooms, for two different stays. The first one had a magnifying mirror, the second one did not. The air conditioning is set at one temperature, regardless if you move it. One room was ok, the other too hot or too cold. The shower didn't work in one room, in the other, the bathtub was clogged. It was so hard to get clean because the water pressure was not good. The fridge wasn't working and when I asked for ice, they said it was extra. Well, did they want to replace the fridge in the room then? They should have made an exception. They charge about 67 pesos for a stain on the sheets. The checkout is ridiculously long. You have to wait as they send someone up to check the room in order to see if they will charge you more. The line up was so long. The tv and channel box is not intuitive, it doesn't start up just because you turn both on, you have to do some hdmi selection or whatever. The chair had a big slash on it. They only give you one card even though there's two people staying in the room. You need that one card to keep the power going in the room. So inconvenient if the other person in the room takes it to go out and now you don't have air conditioning or lights and you can't go outside yourself. Now, yes, you can ask for an extra key, but the line ups are so long. Also, when they take your bags, they don't give you a ticket, so I don't understand, I had to ask for it, how will they or the guest ensure they deliver the right amount of bags? It just doesn't feel too secure.
The beds are on the firm side.
There are a lot of tour buses who stay here, it could get noisy in the hallways. The hallways are not air conditioned, which is ok, it helps the environment. read more
