Jessica Whitley. I…read morejust had the most humiliating experience with this photographer. I never thought I would be scolded and shamed for my technophobia, but this is exactly what happened. She was recommended to me by a friend who didn't really know her but it was the only photographer she knew of. I called and left messages for about a week without response. I need photographs for work so I need them as soon as possible. Finally we talked on the phone and she said she was booked way into the future. I didn't know what to do. I really needed them sooner. She said she'd try to fit me in and said she would email me her "packages." I still had a little more to do to get my teaching certificate so I did not make a decision on her, for or against. A couple of days later I called her back to check if any slots had opened up. No response. I left messages and texts. Finally I figured I'd at least check out her prices and packages so I went to my email. Now, I have always had difficulty remembering to check my email. But since texting has become so popular, hardly anybody ever emails me anymore, so I just never check my email unless someone calls me and tells me, "check your email now for xyz." But no one ever does that. Just spammers. So I check her prices, which are fine, and I happen to email her mentioning that email is not a good way to communicate with me. Especially when I call and text someone, and they reply not with calling or texting, but they answer my call with an email. This is very confusing. Why would someone answer a phone call message via email? No one would expect to check their email for a response to a phone message they left. But this is what she did. I did not tell her she absolutely could not email me. I merely stated that it was not THE way to communicate with me IF she really wanted to communicate with me. So she fires back a scolding and abusive message saying she has a HARD POLICY that she just does not work with people who don't do things HER way. If a person is not comfortable with something as small as email, it doesn't matter, it's her way or the highway. THIS IS JESSICA WHITLEY. So before you trust this woman with being present during the most cherished and sensitive times in your life ( weddings, graduations, anniversaries, batmitzvahs, quinceneras...) ask yourself, Do you want a photographer present that might suddenly experience "deal breakers" (her words not mine) in the middle of a shoot and walk off the job over some fantasy in her head of her own corporate policy, based on her hatred of older people who have trouble with certain technologies, or maybe she just doesn't like gay people, who knows?

Sarah is dishonest, do not recommend! Here are the facts:…read more-Engagement photo turn around 17 weeks -Wedding gallery turn around 14 weeks (website states 6-8weeks) -Never received wedding sneak peek as was in contract -Photos of children and vendors we saw taken not included in gallery and "missing" when inquired -Reached out multiple times via text, phone, and email for updates. Sarah would eventually respond after several attempts with an excuse. Typically a week turnaround time for a response. However if you follow her on Instagram she posts frequently her workouts, building furniture, pub crawl, vacations, drinking coffee, nannying etc but apparently no time to edit photos or respond to clients. In addition, she double booked a wedding the same day. We discovered this when Sarah posted wedding photos to her FB page with the same wedding date. Included was a photo of the other couples invitation with the same date and similar time. When inquired (only since we saw on her page) she admitted it was a scheduling error. She admitted she was present at the other couples wedding and had planned to "float" between both weddings. However, she handled it poorly by lying and texting the night before the wedding at 11pm saying she was sick "a super nasty stomach bug I caught from kids I nanny". And we understood, people get sick. I wish she would have been honest when she discovered the error (she sent Abigail and Brit who were great! but only found out 2 hours before they arrived) then causing unnecessary stress 12 hours before we were getting ready for the wedding. She then blocked my family on social media once we asked. We booked her due to good reviews, but now I wonder if those are real or from friends of hers.

Very unprofessional. We paid a deposit upfront thinking we would have a contract to sign right…read moreafter as she said we have to pay first. It took almost a week for her to respond with the contract for us to sign and when we got it was out of order and not filled out. We should have known then something was wrong. We filled out the contract after getting the revised version and tried to schedule our engagement session. We didn't hear from her for about a week and had to reach out to her over Instagram to get her to respond. After that she said she would send out the dates she was available. 4 days later she finally sent out the dates for us to pick after we reached out again to ask when we could do it. We scheduled it for a Saturday a few weeks out from that day and set the location. A week before we hadn't heard anything from her so we reached out yet again as we had to do every time. She didn't respond for a couple days but was posting on social media multiple times. We reached out again to confirm and didn't hear from her till the next day when I reached out a 3rd time to confirm. She then said she would get back with us on that Friday the day before we were suppose to meet for the session so we waited till Friday to confirm one last time and didn't hear anything from her at all. The next day (day we were scheduled to do the photo shoot) she still hadn't reached out so I reached out to her demanding a refund as she was unwilling to take her work with us seriously and she was focusing more on her other job and didn't have the decency to let us know she was not going to make it. She still refused to give a refund of the deposit as her "contract", if you could even call it that, the despite was non refundable. Yet she broke the contract by missing the appointment. She is unreliable at best. We had to go to our bank and dispute the transfer we made to her to get our money back. We are still waiting to hear back from them but will not be allowing her to keep our money. It's the principle of the fact she was paid to do something and didn't provide the services she said she would. Would recommend finding a more experienced photographer who will focus on you and not find excuses and lie to get out of your appointment with them.
