Critter Sitters - The attack cat who may need quarantine...

    Critter Sitters

    (62 reviews)

Janet from Critter Sitters really saved us!…read more If I had imagined the perfect kitty sitter, Janet Green of Critter Sitters surpassed it. She was everything I hoped for in a sitter and more, going above and beyond my most hopeful expectations. She was responsive, dependable, friendly, knowledgeable, flexible and all around wonderful. I can't begin to express what a relief it was to have Janet watching our cats when everything else seemed in chaos. My husband and I were trying to navigate a trip to help my elderly mom after knee replacement surgery (the day before elective surgeries were halted due to COVID-19) and had the trip extended unexpectedly when we realized she needed way more recovery time. When I had to change our first meet and greet due to my flight getting canceled five times (due to the pandemic) she was understanding and accommodating. When I finally got back (for just one day before returning to my mom) Janet listened attentively when I introduced her to our three kitties and when I showed her the medications for our elderly cat, asking great questions. When we were gone she visited our kitties twice a day, every day. She sent the most adorable pictures after every visit so we knew our cats were being looked after, along with detailed text updates and even occasional videos of them playing. Her messages were a ray of sunshine in what was otherwise chaos. If all that weren't enough, she found a better way to give our 19 year old IBD cat his twice daily medication AND she gave him his subcutaneous fluids. Having Janet as our guardian kitty angel was like having an old trusted family friend looking after our cats.

We used Critter Sitters for many years, through multiple pet sitters, multiple pets, and multiple…read morehomes and always found them to be professional, reasonably priced, and attentive to the needs of our pets. Recently our pet sitter through Critter Sitters retired and we met with our new sitter one time. Everything seemed fine and we were scheduled to go out of town and had confirmed with the new sitter employed by Critter Sitters that everything was in order. Yesterday I asked for clarification about the billing since it seemed substantially higher with the new sitter over what we had paid previously - in response, I have been told that the sitter's schedule has changed and that I should seek care for my animals elsewhere. With little more than a week's notice, this was very unprofessional and disappointing to say the least. I've tried to communicate my experience to the owner of the company but the line has been busy for some time; will update this review if new information becomes available but sadly, I can no longer recommend this business and would seek care for pets elsewhere. Update: the owner responded and while appreciated, I find the way this situation was handled by Critter Sitters very unprofessional. I can include the text conversation for reference as I did not negotiate: I asked a question about a price difference between two different sitters employed by the same company, a difference of over 300 dollars. The only "policy" I see enforced or followed here is poor customer service.

Video Bazaar - Boston Terriers from VB

Video Rental, Dog Breeding, and Pet Supplies all under one roof! As bazaar as that sounds that's…read morewhat Video Bazaar is all about! Growing up in Milledgeville I've been Video Bazaar quite a few times in my life, from when I was kid renting VHS (VCR) tapes to my college years when those new DVD disks were starting to be rented out. At Video Bazaar you will find the newest releases and some classics. This store has been open longer than any video rental business in Milledgeville. Strange as it may sound Video Bazaar doesn't just rent videos, it also sells dogs and pet supplies as well. The owner has over 25 years of breeding experience and really knows what she is doing; this isn't some sort of puppy mill. We have purchase a few dogs from her in the past (Abbie - Boston Terrier and Peanut - Chihuahua), and most recently we purchased two more Bost Terriers from her (Buster & Bootsie). So whether you are looking for a movie to curl on the couch and watch or looking for a doggie or pet supplies then Video Bazaar is the place for you.

0 stars if I could! I purchased a beautiful poodle here and…read morewe took her to the vet they told us to (To make sure there were no health problems). Well that vet over looked an ear infection she already had. So when we told the staff here, they told us they wouldn't cover it because she didn't have it when we got her. Not even 1 year later she was vomiting, peeing, and pooping blood. We took her to the vet constantly (a different vet than the first one), they could never find anything wrong. Finally we took her to another vet, it turned out, she was born with it, and it took a little over a year for it to surface. She died during a blood transfusion. We only had her for a year. She cost over $600 and we notified this establishment of everything that happened. I explained what the vet said and she told me to get them to contact her. They did and she said we could get another small dog. It was a while later but I did. This dog was one of the worst dogs I had come across he was mean he constantly tried to bite and he didn't get along with anyone. We eventually sold him because I couldn't handle his behavioral problems. We personally know the person we sold him to, and he died less than two months later. She said she had him in the crate and he was fine the night before but when she woke up, he was lying in the middle of the cage dead. These people only care about money. They shouldn't be allowed to breed dogs, or sell them. Those dogs are taken out a few times a day to use the bathroom, but are left locked in cages for the rest of the time (This is not an assumption I asked), except 1-2 they take home at night or on the weekends. They are beautiful yes, but obviously aren't being bred and/or raised properly due to the illnesses they have and behavioral issues. They are mistreated and I feel bad for them. I plan to adopt from now on. On top of all of this. They get new movies late, they over charge, and the whole place stinks because of the poop they have in the dog cages.
