Booked an appointment 2 weeks in advance. Got a text last minute to cancel and reschedule. After a back and forth he says it's not a big deal he'll come in at the time I booked the appointment. (If it wasn't a big deal then why did he cancel it initially?) Anyway this haircut is $40, most expensive fade I've ever had. And after driving over a half hour to try this place out I can confidently say I won't come back. It's definitely not worth the price. A good fade usually takes 45min-1hour. This guy finished in 26 minutes. After taking a shower I noticed several hairs the his clippers didn't cut. Not only that but the fade isn't even on both sides or even faded that well. He gives you the mirror as if you're the barber to find any irregularities. A good barber takes their time and makes sure their haircut is good. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

I chose these guys because they promote COVID-19 vaccination. The hair cutter Heavy cut my hair, and I be never had such an assiduous, careful hair professional. He was a perfectionist who took my crazy hair--uncut by a professional since pre-COVID--and worked it into shape. Not one detail missed. Unlike 90% of hair cutters, he did mostly a scissor cut. I called like 8 places trying to get a haircut on a Tuesday and literally no one in St. Louis seems to want to work anymore or cut anyone's hair it was like pulling teeth. I called Mane Coarse last and low and behold the owner answered very professionally and said sure come on in and we'll get you faded up. I got there and the place has the exact feel of a soulful Barbershop. Great atmosphere and layout. The fade and beard trimming were both top notch. I'm suuuuper particular when it comes to my fades because I have a weird head and if you go too high up it looks like someone shaved a divot in my head. I showed human picture and he actually listened what a concept! The fade was one of the best I've ever had and I waited 3 weeks until I was back in STL for work again to get it cut again. Been looking for a new barber as I'm new to St. Louis. Figured I try this place out since is has a pretty good rating and close to where I live. Long story short, I will not be going back here. Probably one of the worse haircuts I've ever gotten. Uneven fade that doesn't even really look like a fade. I moved around the area and looked for barbershops to go to and found this one. The barber that did my hair is named Heavy. He did a great job. I asked him to give me a fade and he delivered. The fade looks real tight and clean. Heavy was really meticulous and quick. Definitely will consider going back. read more
