She was done with the key in literally 30 seconds. She was also super friendly and extremely polite. Once she was done, I was able to pay for it quickly and very done with the key errand. I checked out the restroom as well. Clean as can be! I think Ace will be the place (see what I did there?) in the area for hardware stuff. Basically, Quality Painting and Construction was nothing but a major headache and pain in the a** from the very beginning, and I will explain why. I called to get an estimate to paint the exterior of my Weatherford house towards the end of February. The owner of the company arrived late to our scheduled meeting, and after a short time told me he would have to leave early to pick up his kid. This was warning sign number one. With most companies, I get an estimate to do the work in approximately three days. With Quality Painting and Construction, it took one month. I received the estimate towards the end of March. This was warning sign number two. I looked the estimate over and informed Christopher Cain I agreed to the price and asked when he could begin the work. I didn't hear anything until the middle of May, almost two months later. Warning sign number three. I was having trouble finding anyone in Weatherford to do what I consider quality work, so I decided to give Christopher Cain a try, even though I had strong misgivings. My negative feelings later turned out to be correct, and I should have listened to my gut. On May 16th, Christopher Cain came by the house in Weatherford, and picked up a required down payment of $1,000 to purchase paint and supplies and begin the work. Work was scheduled to start on May 20th as noted in a hand written contract. I informed Christopher Cain someone would be at the house Sunday evening till Thursday evening each week while he did the work, since my wife and I actually live and work in Oklahoma City. On Sunday, May 21st, my wife and I arrived at the Weatherford house and noticed absolutely no work had been done. Two and a half weeks later, Christopher Cain had not answered any of my text messages or e-mails to his business address. He had not even driven by the home to let us know what was happening. After not being able to contact this business, I began to think the worst and filed a law-suit against Quality Painting and Construction, and Christopher Cain, in Custer County small claims court to get my money back. Cain was to be served by the Sheriff, so interesting enough, Cain texted me three days later saying he had lost his phone and just found it. This was the reason given for not contacting me or doing any work. Again, Christopher Cain had a business email address we had communicated through, and a car to easily drive over to see us; nothing but excuses, and more excuses. I gave Cain the option to do the work in a timely manner or to return the money. Neither one was done. In the meantime, I hired another company to paint the exterior of the home, and it was completed in approximately two weeks with no delays or problems. Later, we went to court on 6/21 and again on 7/19. On 7/19, the court judge awarded $1,108.00 in my favor, and gave the defendant until 8/19 to pay the money owed me or go to court again on 9/6. On 8/25, defendant finally paid with a cashier's check that was actually purchased by the defendant's father. As my wife mentioned to me and I now believe, Christopher Cain probably spent the $1,000.00 for something other than buying paint and supplied to do a job he agreed to. From the first time I meet and talked to the owner of Quality Painting and Construction till the debt was finally paid on 8/25, over six months had past. This was my experience with this contractor in Weatherford, Ok, and I am letting others know, so they may think long and hard about using Quality Painting and Construction for anything. Caveat emptor, let the buyer beware!
