    Pancit bihon

What surprised me about this restaurant is the fun atmosphere with guests dancing along to people singing karaoke. A small mom and pop Filipino restaurant in metropolitan Rome. They serve traditional Filipino dishes. Of the dishes I've tried, the fried chicken was the best. Crunchy outside, tasty inside, just enough saltiness that you can eat it without needing rice to go with it. The pancit bihon looks appetizing with pork and a variety of vegetables mixed in. The lechon kawali was crispy on the outside but not overly fried so it was still soft on the inside. Good balance of fat to meat ratio. They gave us shrimp paste with it instead of the typical sweet lechon sauce, which was very likely an oversight. They did bring the correct sauce when I asked for it. The dinakdakan was ok but I'm not fond of the dish to begin with so cannot say that I have unbiased opinion about it. The halo halo was pretty good. It has all the traditional ingredients of leche flan, ice cream, beans and sweet cream. It was a good end to the meal especially with the hot weather. Portions are smaller than what I'm used to getting in California especially with the lechon kawali/fried pork but enough for two people to try. There was a birthday celebration that occupied the main dining area with singing and dancing which made a fun atmosphere. The only downside was the room temperature; looks like their AC was down and they were using electric fans on a hot summer night. The owners and staff were nice and friendly. They seem to have regular local customers. I used Google live map to find the location. It's tucked away in one of the small streets near the area behind Roma Termini. Glad to have found this place on our first night in Rome.

Food is like back home, service is Pinoy excellence. Ambiance...there is karaoke. Enough said!

Filipino comfort food when in Rome- Manila offers the dishes and flavors from the PI. The owner was very friendly and attentive which was welcoming and helpful. The sisig was just okay- not memorable and wasn't a fan, have had better sisig. The chicken, and tapsilog were more enjoyable which was appetizing. The Bulalo was yummy and plentiful with beef and veggies in the piping soup. The WiFi they offer though was not connecting which was sort of a bummer. The desert was alright- a fried banana with a touch of chocolate drizzle. 3.5 Stars. :-)

After sampling some of Italy's finest pasta dishes for 10 days straight, my wife and I were wanting a change of pace. Wow, am I so glad we found Manila restaurant! We're from San Diego and the dishes we ordered reminded us of our favorite spots back home. This restaurant is reasonably priced and offers authentic, piping hot meals that are sarap SARAP! For our starter we enjoyed lumpia, light and perfectly fried. I ordered the lechon and pinakbet (minus the anchovies) with garlic friend rice. The wifey picked fish Sigang. Don't tell my nanay, but it was just as good as hers! We will definitely try to come back for breakfast/brunch. I'm looking to try some Tocilog or Longsiog!

Met the owner Romulo in the middle . Very accommodating and friendly. A true kababayan. Saw him two blocks away while looking for Manila.

The Manila restaurant is a must for all of you looking for a great Filipino dining experience. We really enjoyed the food and the ambience. Surprisingly the price is so reasonable. I would highly recommend this to all our kababayans. Thanks for the memories and would definitely come back again.

Good Filipino food! Was close to our hotel and we heard from some locals that the food was good.

Got tired of eating Italian Food over the past couple weeks while in Florence/Rome, so we decided…read moreto get some Filipino Food for dinner on our last night here. We are staying at the Meininger Roma Termini a few blocks away, so it was very walkable. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for take-out since there is a kitchen/dining room where we were staying at. When you enter the restaurant, you need to a walk down some stairs as the indoor dining area is in the basement. There were some diners eating, but there was a table of what seems like family members/friends drinking some beer and eating Nilagang Mani (boiled peanuts). It was a little awkward because they kept staring at my son and I the whole time while we were ordering and waiting for our food. You can tell they were making tsismis (gossiping) and talking about us a little. My wife is Filipino (didn't come with us), so I can understand and speak some Tagalog and my son can understand pretty fluently. That was somewhat uncomfortable (minus 1 star for that). Later after I ordered and spoke a little Tagalog, we heard them say in Tagalog, "oh they can speak some Tagalog". Usually in the USA, it is not as obvious, but it's in the culture. As for the food, they have a lot of the traditional Filipino dishes. They have a board on the wall with the day's specials (€8 each). The best deal is the Pinoy Mega Mix for €12 which you can choose 3 items from the day's specials. We ordered 1 special (pork Binagoongan), Pinoy Mega Mix, Pork Sisig, and steamed rice ($1 each, about 2 cups worth of rice). When we brought back the ulam (main dish, entree), we noticed that instead of normal take-out packaging, most items were packed in plastic bags like they do for street food which was interesting. The portion size of the ulam was also pretty small (except for the steamed rice) for the price compared to what you get in the USA. Overall the food was tasty. I don't think there are too many Filipino restaurants in Rome, so if you are looking for Filipino food and rice, then they can satisfy your craving. Overall rating of 3 stars, docked stars for feeling uncomfortable while waiting and for portion size.

The tall filipino girl, just stood there and had a stone face stare, when I told I her I didn't want to sit near the entrance door where the cigarette smoke was coming in, she asked us to stand outside instead and wait until they open and we watch her moping the floors pass the opening hours. Highly unprofessional. When her friends came in, like a school girl jumping up/down. The way she explain how to operate the machine was confusing. She didn't offer a printed menu, we had to ask for it. She wasn't as helpful as expected. The Food needs much improvements as it Fried Chicken was dry and tasteless...this indicated it was frozen and not fresh. She erved rice way before the food came, it ended up cold. Ramen Noodles, egg on top was well done, 2 sliver pc of meat taste like leather, 1pc of seaweed and green onions, only thing that taste good was the broth. The Teriyaki salmon on the stick must've been frozen fish...dried and tasteless, had it not been for the sauce, this would've been a turn off. While paying...not one thank you or a smile. This whole experience was a joke and not worthy of a repeat in business. I wouldn't even rate anything, but I'll give it 1 star to post this and hopefully that no one else have to go thru this uneventful experienced
