The Emporium tries to source from local small businesses and growers which is commendable but of course all that stuff is more expensive. But fantastic if you can afford it! There's seating so you can stop for lunch or a coffee while you shop for your tempeh, vitamins, virgin oils or free range eggs and I really love the food here. I love me a bit of hippy food and their tofu fritters are delicious... and the coffee is great and fair trade, natch.

They have a resident naturopath ready to help with free consultations, a bulk food sections for those nuts, beans, grains and herbs you're ready to horde, a small resources section if that obscure vegan+gluten free cookbook has been eluding you, a juice and smoothie bar if you need that wheatgrass shot to really rev you up in the morning, and a deli counter with their own delicious creations from wraps and veggie patties to the world's best gluten-free macadamia nut brownies. I love cooking from scratch so I think they have everything I may need to do a great and healthy job. From just a few grams to bulk.. they seem to have it. Hate that they stock a range of oil and vinegar for you to pour to your hearts content. From plain and flavoured almonds, to pistachios, to the sweetest cranberries and blueberries, mixed fruit, coconut, mango, chocolate covered everything, seeds, grains and oats, granola, spices and tea. The idea is to keep the stock in large white buckets and let the customer take as much (or as little) as they require. Moral of the story? This place rocks it so remember to bring your own containers (or use their brown paper bags) and just scoop till you're stuffed. Tip: I always get some dark chocolate covered blueberries for the drive home. You're welcome!!

I like that though. It's a neat kind of chaos. Some of the more unique items they sell are sprouted bread, coconut yoghurt, kefir sachets, fermented vegetables like sauerkraut, unpasturised 'beauty' milk, and fresh nut paste (you make it there). They also have a huge selection of seeds, nuts, dried berries (goji and blueberries amongst others), teas, natural herbs, flours and tinctures, the lesser-known grains like red quinoa and buckwheat. Celiacs with love this place - they have gluten free pastas, gluten free cake mixes, gluten free cereals - you name it they probably have it. A good selection of organic ice cream and frozen vegan 'meats' are also available as well as a selection of skin care ranges like Weleda and a good range of natural soap. They have a small range of organic fresh fruit and vegetables outside. I'm not particularly fond of my produce lying beside a car park even if it is organic but when organic bananas are going for $1 each I'm inclined to buy. The ladies are really helpful and there is a naturapath and herbalist available for free advice also.

It's a small store, but is absolutely packed with health foods and health supplements - some of which actually look well worth eating despite their purported benefits! It's the source of all my homemade muesli ingredients, though I rarely leave without being temped to add something new to my basket - the last was a tic-tac like pocket-pack of pure organic liquorice. Now that was a taste experience! And of course all the staff look suitably organic.

It was a bit pricey and feel the açai bowl needs to be improved, not sure what ingredients are used but possibly less coconut water and maybe adding a frozen banana would help make this guilt-free snack tastier. In the past, I've purchased some of their Red Mill products but this visit was strictly açai time only. I'll give this place one more try..

This place really is just a bar, so you'll have to find somewhere else to sit and eat it. That's all well and good for the non-layabout clientele this place is trying to attract! I found the soup menu quite uninspiring considering it makes up a whole half of this bar's title. They were all very homely mixtures such as tomato and sweetcorn and country vegetable, but sadly nothing very exciting. Luckily the juice menu makes up for that as I counted as many as 20 different types. Every fruit imaginable seemed to be on this board, including those rarer super-foods like acai berries! In relation to this, it seems there's a big prerogative in this place to be healthy, with helpful little stickers under certain types saying 'low fat.' If these don't satisfy you can even invent your own. I plumped for a non-stickered 'power up' juice which has soy milk, spirulina, strawberries, banana, honey and ice. It was, as you might have guessed from such a line-up of ingredients DEEE-LICIOUS. At only $7 its worth it to feel this healthy and happy!

The menu had some really great options from coffee to healthy bowls and you can even adjust them to fit any dietary restrictions you may have. During our visit we ordered an iced coffee with coconut milk, the Rio Bowl and the Ocean Bowl. I absolutely loved the cute wooden block we got to flag our order down with while we waited. So many unique touches to really make the experience a memorable one. When we got our order I admired the food art for a little too long and almost didn't want to eat and ruin the beautiful bowls before us... ALMOST!! When I first dipped my spoon into the Ocean Bowl, I was instantly taken to a tropical paradise in one fabulous bite of the strawberry and passion fruit together. Wow is pretty much all I could say between bites! The homemade granola on top was also something to write home about because it was fresh, chewy and full of healthy flavor. Most places top your cold bowls with hard granola that makes you concerned you might break your teeth but not here. I also really enjoyed the fresh coffee. I decided to add coconut milk to mine for some extra flavor and didn't regret it for a second. It spoke to my southern soul, too, because it was served up in a mason jar. From the outside this appears to be a grubby little shop. Black plastic crates of lemons, oranges…read moreand grapefruits look singularly unappetising. I almost walked past with my nose turned up, but I glanced through the dank little doorway and changed my mind. As you walk through, the shop takes shape - it becomes lighter, more inspiring and more stocked. This is foodie and health heaven, much as the shop's name suggests. The refrigerated cabinet holds all manner of cheeses - goat, feta, sheep, cheddar, ricotta as well as yoghurt, milk and butter. An effort to keep things natural and local has clearly been made. Further down is a wonderful shelf stocked with hundreds of brown paper packages, containing a huge variety of seeds, beans, grains and flours. I can't imagine there is anything missing from this pulse-paradise. I love the fact it's all wrapped organically with labels describing exactly what is within, the nutritional information and cooking instructions. On the opposite side of the shop is a bizarre array of vast plastic tubs and containers which look as if they'd be better placed in a factory. But, on closer inspection, they are enormous pots of weird and wonderful substances such as agave nectar - usually very difficult to track down. Finally, at the back of the shop is a fabulous fruit and vegetable section, resplendent with purple carrots, crunchy lettuces and shiny fruit. This is a wonderful shop for anyone who likes organic, top quality food. Living healthily seems so easy in a place such as this, where all those tough-to-find products have their place on the shelves. It is quite expensive, but you can't put a price on top quality produce. This shop is frequently crammed with customers, glowing at the sight of such healthy food. Perhaps the Organic Paradise and Suveran's rather dishevelled exterior is a cunning ploy to keep one of Bondi's best-kept secrets under wraps.
