The summer was a great year for my sons American Legion Baseball team. After winning districts they…read moremade it to the state playoffs at Duncan Field in Hastings Nebraska. The field is well maintained and has some really cool history. This is a large park and I am assuming not many high school players are going to hit a homerun as it is a large field with centerfield a tad over 400 feet. However an in the park home run is very possible. While the field had been renovated with nice fan seating (with shade) it still also has some of the cool history with a brick outfield fence. In the summer, at least in 2015. the two sites were Omaha and Hastings. We live in Omaha and my son played for an Omaha based legion team and it was nice to get away and play at Hastings Duncan field. We played two Omaha teams and a team from North Platte so some may say you are from Omaha so you might as well stayed home and played. But if you are a true fan of the game of baseball you will love making a trip out to this baseball field. The organizers did a great job in prepping the field, good food was available at their concession stands and plenty of seating was available. This is a great event held at one of the better baseball parks in Nebraska. Thanks for a great experience...one I am sure my son will never forget.

The sidewalk runs between the water and a street lined with historical homes. I was told that one circle around the park is approximately one mile. Heartwell park also features a couple bridges, plenty of benches, swings, a playground, a small swimming pool, and pet waste stations. Cute place to walk, bike, or feed ducks!
